The Star Inn in East Riding of Yorkshire

We've stayed at the Star Inn a few times now and we would highly recommend it. Beautiful food, spotless rooms and very friendly. We're hoping to come back again this year. 💯👌

Wonderful food, but spoilt by dogs being allowed in the bar area. Why ????Take your Mutts out for a walk and then leave them at home. Smelly and noisy...won't go again.

Attempted to visit but despite food serving hours on Saturday being 12 til 2 we were told at 1.15 that the kitchen was closed as last booking was 45 mins ago . Very unhelpful staff too. No mention of needing to book- need to change your advertisements!

The Star Inn is a nice village pub, and there is a wide choice of beer, largers, and cider, but sadly, no hand pulled cask conditioned real ale when I called in. There is a nice bar, a separate dining room, and a games room with a pool table. The pub has accommodation and provides meals. The staff are friendly and welcoming, there is a covered outside seating area and a car park.

The lamb meal was, delicious best I have had, everyone's other meals were great, hearty and tasty and great vaule. Bar prices good too. Will be back again.

Absolute gem , wonderful food and great service. And my husband's gammon came not only with pineapple but also with two fresh eggs.. my chicken parmo was delicious.. the desserts were amazing. Lotus biscoff cheesecake and chocolate brownie Sunday. And a good range of alcohol-free beers.

We have family in Driffield and North Dalton and The Star is the ideal hub for us to use. The chalets are excellent and always lovely and clean. The food is brilliant and well worth a visit. We would highly recommend *****

This was our second visit to this pub and the food has been perfect every time. The flavours and amounts were excellent. No complaints whatsoever. Will definitely visit again.

The staff are so friendly and make you feel right at home. The food is amazing, English classics as well as super delicious Greek dishes all expertly cooked by Spiros. There should be photos but too busy stuffing our faces with the Greek Banquet available on Friday and Saturday nights - you need to prebook as this is a deservedly popular spot

Booked a table and arrived early. Had a drink in the bar and ordered our food. Shown to our table and shortly after , our food arrived. Couldn’t believe the portions were so big. I had the meet balls with pasta which was delicious. We all had a different meal and all enjoyed it very much. We will definitely go back again . We hadn’t been for years so if you are like us, give it a try.

We visited this restaurant twice during our stay. The food was delicious and I would definitely recommend a visit. I had the Chicken Spiros both times, it was absolutely delicious. I would definitely come back here if I am in the area again.

This was a return visit so I must apologise for not reviewing sooner. The Star Inn is an unassuming place but it’s worth getting under the surface to experience the fantastic food. As far as I am aware the food is authentic Greek. It is full of taste and plentiful. I had to complain because the meat was that tender it was difficult to use a knife and fork. There cannot be anywhere local that can compare, as proved by all the empty plates. Definitely coming back again.

This lovely pub is in a small village but handy for Bridlington, Filey or other east coast resorts. Bedrooms are across the car park from the pub all on one level. Great disabled adapted bathroom for my husband. Wonderful Greek food for dinner cooked by co-owner Costas. Lynn his partner is lovely and helpful. Friendly locals, excellent breakfast, good beer and dog friendly. We can`t wait to return.

Came here for a family meal and had a fantastic evening. Behind the unassuming, friendly, traditional British pub interior; there's a fantastic Greek feel to this establishment. The quality of the food was superb; everything was freshly made and traditionally cooked in the Greek style. I had the lamb gyros and couldn't recommend them quick enough - they were absolutely delicious! Everyone in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals, and the service was brilliant as well - welcoming, friendly and very attentive. This establishment is a wonderful asset for Nafferton and I hope to return again soon. Thank you for a lovely evening!

Had the place recommended by someone who popped into my local in carnaby Deciided to try the place out on a Saturday lunchtime Looked a bit dated as a pub and very quiet but the landlady was ultra friendly We ordered 2 Lamb greek dishes in Pitta with chips and salad The food was unbelievable cooked by their own greek chef fresh well presented and left us wanting to try the other greek dishes on the menu so will definately return. Also had your standard english menu and prices were very resonable

A friendly welcome with good company.Cask beer is served which is local to the area. Dominos and darts are played there and there is accomodation .

After getting off the bus from work fancying a pint, I realised I had no cash, wandering into the Ship & from a previous visit knew they had a card machine asked if I could pay card....By the reaction of the owner you would have thought I'd asked him if I could nip upstairs, crap on his pillow, I was growled at that the minimum was £10 & when I asked if I could get cash back from a transaction, received a similar response. Business's that have card machines receive 'Interchange' from the card issuer so he's actually making money, hence why so many places offer it to you gladly, the owner has exactly the same amount of business acumen as he does customer service & personality - ZERO. If you're looking for a friendly, welcoming village pub in Nafferton, drive past & avoid this which can only be compared to walking into The Slaughtered Lamb from an American Werewolf in London....

This place is a gem! Amazing Greek food - the most traditional I've had since moving back to the UK! A absolute must!

The Greek Feast at this pub is a first class experience for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. Highly reccomend this restaurant

food was great but will never eat there again as the lady behind the bar was so disinterested in her ONLY two people in her tatty restaurant! when she took my money it was like she had done me a favour. did not even look up to say thanks. it was even too much trouble for her to bring the chip and pin machine to me for payment. the restaurant was dead "SUPRISE" NOT from the food but by the total lack of respect she pays to her customers. I may end up ordering a takeaway next time and sit at home, a much better atmosphere then the star in nafferton

El servicio del propietario de mal humor detrás de la barra marcó la pauta. Él literalmente arrojaban la menús en nosotros cuando llegamos. Tan poco acogedor. El comedor estaba helada y llena de moscas. Era tan malo. La señora que nos servía era agradable, pero eso era lo único bueno. Nos quejamos de las moscas sólo le dijeron que se había quedado fuera de Driffield spray volar. Evitar este lugar.

Made to feel very welcome,Great pub and good food.The rooms were nice and clean and the evening meals were reasonably priced.

comida griega en el Inn de estrellas era muy sabrosa y de primera clase y me encanta la comida griega y ahora he estado 6 veces y no me ha decepcionado! Cada vez que voy me tome nuevos amigos conmigo y me encanta la comida . De hecho sentir como chuparse el plato, tan sabroso!

Acabamos de tener una comida griega en el Star Inn era realmente precioso y tradicional, hecha por Spiros Comimos cordero kleftiko, la única cosa que falta en el ambiente era el sol. Sin duda volveremos otra vez. Recomiendo encarecidamente este lugar. Los baños estaban impecables y Lynn nos hizo sentir muy bienvenidos. Me encantó, me di cuenta que también es un B & B y estoy seguro de que le ofrecen un servicio igualmente alto. ¿Quién sabe que puede incluso estancia la próxima vez. : -)

Visited The Star Inn last month (October 2014). Attentive staff, first class food, in general a great place to visit. Nice place for a "date night" :-)

Visited here with a friend one Sunday asked politely if they were still serving food & got a very curt NO in reply, anyway we decided to stay and have a drink, it was the landlady behind the bar and some of her family/friends arrived, chattering away, I even heard her use the F word, will never visit here again.

Friendly atmosphere, great food & beers, clean & secure parking, nice pool table & darts. Greek restaurant, full breakfasts included in price.

Stayed at the Star Inn on a business stop over, as can sometimes be the case with late arrivals - trying to find somewhere to eat possibly a challenge. Obvious choice 'in house' - and pleasantly surprised - Spiros who is co owner of the Star, and from Corfu I believe, has created a Greek menu to complement the usual pub fayre. Although we only sampled two of the dishes, the food was well presented, very tasty with large portions and reasonably priced. Would relish opportunity to return to try some more and would certainly recommend! :-)
