Absolutely stunning meal at Gransmoor lodge, some of the best quality food we’ve had. The monster fish and chips were out of this world and the steak was juicy and cooked to perfection, the homemade pepper corn sauce and coleslaw were also fantastic we couldn’t have been happier with our experience, compliments to the chef and staff would definitely recommend!

Absolute first class Sunday lunch. We booked the day before. Choice of 4 meats and accompanied with A little bit of everything. I had beef and my wife had turkey. With a Roast potato, mash, broccoli, parsnip, carrot, cauliflower cheese, mini stuffing ball and gravy to go with chosen meat. The proprieter is very friendly too. They have homemade desserts too but we were too full to sample them!! Awesome!! £34.25 Which included a beer and a coke.

Found this little gem whilst visiting area on a weekend family get away. Walked in initially in trepidation after seeing no reviews since May 23. We were met by Joyce who couldn’t have been more welcoming helpful and lovely throughout our visit. There was a wait for the food but there were some games to keep our 7 year old entertained (and me). When the food arrived we had the choice of eating in the bar or the restaurant. Prime window seat and great service. The food was definitely home cooked and delicious. All plates were empty. They made our little one feel special. Would definitely recommend. Worthy of a 5 star.

Very disappointed. Have been before and enjoyed the meal but on return visit found the food seemed to be reheated as the roast potatoes were tough to cut, no mash, limited frozen vegetables because asked for separate carrots for the children as they don't like swede mix but said that's how it comes. Definitely poor value particularly for children who barely ate anything. Also short staffed so one lady trying to do everything as nobody else there other than the chef. Didn't bother with desert took our business to mr.moos instead. Luckily we didn't take our two dogs because they were dog friendly but apparently not anymore.

Very nice place, several smallish dining rooms leading from one to another so there is no feeling of overcrowding. Lighting levels could be lower however, but otherwise pleasant. Rang to book and was offered a table earlier than requested, no real issue as it gave the impression that the place was well booked, which is always a good sign for a Saturday evening. On arrival there were not than many tables occupied and the dining area was never full !!. Starter was lovely and well proportioned. Main meals were great and good value. Lamb and burgers were very good. The service form the young waiting staff was very good, however, once the main meal was over the service standard fell. We finished our meal and had to ask the restaurant manager if the table could be cleared after about 15 mis of waiting. Ordered deserts and were expecting a substantial portion but we were very disappointed in the quality. Especially the meringue which looked like a shop bought meringue nest filled with cream and some defrosted frozen summer fruits - at £6.95 this left us disappointed. Paid bill and not even asked if we enjoyed the meal, very disappointing service from the restaurant manager. PS - please correct spelling on your desert menus, Meringue is spelt with an ` i ` not an ` a `(merangue).

Excellent variety of vegetables, all freshly cooked and piping hot. A bit of a wait in being served but this was just down to the popularity of the place! Lamb, turkey or beef available on our visit with lashings of gravy- delightful. All for around £7.50. Recommend booking if you want to be sure of a table on a busy Sunday. I came here on the advice of a friend, which i later found out he had never eaten here and tricked me for a taste test. His loss my gain. I travelled to the Lodge with my partner, 9 year old daughter and 1 year old boy. We find it quite hard to eat out having a 1 year old as babies obviously make a noise and are very restless. Im a person who gets concious of this. Coming here though we were made at ease very quickly and my son crawled around the bar area. people were not bothered and were very welcoming to him. This started the experience off very well. One bit of advice is to book. We had to wait a while as the place gets busy. When we were shown to our tables the food came quickly. The beef was beautiful, non of the cheap rubbish you get in other places. The vegetables were tasty and the gravy had me wanting to lick my plate. My partner and daughter gave similar approval. We didn't get pudding but they also looked lovely. Only very minor negative was that we only had one bowl of potato and veg between 3 of us and could maybe have done with a little more. However for the price and quality of food this is a real hidden gem. I enjoyed it so much I booked again before we left.

We joined our friends for lunch who like ourselves were touring this pleasant part of the countryside. The approach and surroundings to the lodge were beautiful and the interior of the bar and restaurant reflected this ambiance. We were greeted by friendly staff and chattered with the 'locals' who owned or were staying in the static caravan site adjacent to the lodge whilst we enjoyed our drinks. We made our selections from the menu whilst enjoying the welcoming atmosphere and gaining some knowledge of the area. Shortly after ordering we were called through to the impressive dining room where our starters were served, freshly prepared and beautifully presented by an attentive waitress. The traditional Sunday lunch consisted of a choice of succulent freshly carved roasts accompanied by an abundant variety of fresh, seasonal vegetables, all offered and served with the full trimmings. Three of the four of our party managed a dessert from the extensive choice (regrettably the one decline was simply too full) and those selections too reflected the excellent quality of the previous courses. Following this leisurely and thoroughly enjoyable meal, we spent the afternoon sitting in the courtyard enjoying the tranquillity of the beautiful setting. Excellent traditional food - very welcoming - pleasant and tranquil setting - definitely recommended.Katy P

Eight of our family went to the Gransmoor for Sunday Lunch for my father's 90th birthday, the party consisted of a 91 year old, a ninety year old, two in their 60's, two in their 40's and 2 teenagers. We all thoroughly enjoyed the Gransmoor Lodge. We booked in advance and on arrival the staff were very friendly as we enjoyed a drink in a very comfy bar. We were not rushed through our meal.. There was plenty of choice of meat or meat pie, with plenty of freshly cooked vegetables. There must have been about 7 choices of sweets, all decent portions. Eight two course meals for about £70. Good value in a lovely setting. My father certainly enjoyed his 90th, and we stopped to visit the Memorial to the 158 Squadron, to finish the afternoon.

We called at The Lodge at Gransmoor, on the Caravan Park, near the Lisset, Airfield Memorium Raf 158 Squadron on Sunday the 4th December. A lovely, quiet, friendly pub. We booked based on trip advisor saying it was vegetarian cuisine but when we arrived it was soon very clear that there was nothing at all on the menu that would be vegetarian. However the ladies that served and looked after us were lovely and very obliging and the food was good honest dishes. I had the fish and chips which was a good portion and cooked beautifully. I told them about the listing and they were shocked as they had never been a vegetarian restaurant.

We booked into the lodges next to the Gardeners Inn and decided to walk around for dinner & drinks. The venue is decorated for Halloween which I did enjoy and we had a lovely welcome from the waitress. A few item were sold out but the menu was plentiful and the food did not disappoint. I had the sizzling hunters chicken and my partner had Korean Chicken. Portion size was fantastic the side salad & slaw was fresh, definitely the best hunters chicken I’ve had. Banoffee Pie & cream for dessert again it was better than any other I’ve tried. Lovely atmosphere, service time felt right for the number of tables eating and the price was reasonable. Would recommend 100%

First visit to this lovely little restaurant to celebrate 🍾 both Mother’s Day and my wife's 60th birthday and we were not disappointed! The setting in the window table with background music and plenty of space was perfect. We ate off the a la carte menu and we both had three courses complimented by a bottle of fizz. Each course was food heaven and the service was exceptional so we will be returning for the Sunday lunch to celebrate my birthday in April. Thank you
