WOW!!! We stopped here for lunch after doing a fantastic walk by the canal. We all had no idea what to expect and were blown away from arrival. The restaurant is lovely. Pub has a gorgeous feel to it. Staff so kind and more than happy to provide fresh water for our dogs! The food was fantastic! Gorgeous to go somewhere and not only have Panninis and sandwiches on offer! They managed to cater for our large girlie table and the coffee's and desserts were also wonderful. This place is so near and I will be returning with my family! Owners as hospitable as this, deserve to do well. THANK YOU Team Blue Post Inn!

Lovely village pub with great local beers and excellent home made food. Fab steak pie with perfectly cooked vegetables and lashings of gravy. Always nervous about veggie options but the mushroom stroganoff was perfectly judged. Warm welcome from the host and the locals at the bar. Its simply lovely. Wish it was my local !

Wonderful Sunday lunch with the family. We received a very warm welcome on arrival. Offered a choice of turkey, lamb or beef. Food was prompt to arrive and hot. Very tasty with the most delicious roast potatoes and yorkshire puddings. Generous portions of veg and huge jug of gravy. Thank you, a very tasty Sunday lunch enjoyed by all.

This traditional English pub offers a warm welcome from friendly staff and excellent reasonably priced food (£20 per head). A group of over 20 of us visited and enjoyed a festive three course lunch, which was served hot, promptly and with hearty portions. Evan a dairy free member of our party was fully catered for.

We ate here as the place we wanted to eat was fully booked. We wasnt dissapointed. We shared a starter of creamy mushrooms with fresh bread it was lovely. Our mains were large and cooked lovely. I did ask for my main to be served with chips instead of the potatoes that was served with it on the menu, I was given the potatoes anyway but didnt complain as it was farely busy and they tasted good anyway. Veg was lovely too. My partner wasnt to keen on the pastry on the steak and ale pie but that was probably just his taste. Good value for a larger appetite. Nice friendly landlord. 😀👍

Our friends are regulars and recommended, we visited for my wife’s birthday as a group. The first encounter was spoilt by some regulars who were stood outside in the entrance as it was a lovely evening. Morons doesn’t cover it as one was sat on a moped that he rolled back into my shin and then proceeded to make a big joke of it .. Young teens ? NO.. grown men. Anyway that clearly isn’t the landlords fault ... The table was booked, ready and waiting, the service was absolutely excellent and very attentive, the bar drink prices are more than reasonable and we didn’t feel ripped off and there was an excellent selection of beers. The food was superb, usual pub food but so well presented you’ll be hard pressed to get better in an upmarket restaurant. There was a wide range of reasonably priced food, my wife and I had starters, mains and one desert for under £35.00.. The rest of the party paid around the same. This was my first visit but certainly won’t be my last, I was very impressed... I can’t recommend this pub enough, thanks to all the staff for making our night out so memorable.

After reading some of the reviews I thought I’d see for myself and what a lovely surprise I had! Food was absolutely beautiful! The bar staff couldn’t be any more helpful and the waitress was very polite. Great atmosphere and great company. The locals was very welcoming, saying hello as we walked in. They also aloud dogs too which was a bonus, the owner acknowledged him as well as us. Definitely would recommend.

Having gone for drinks at this pub, we had a nice chat with the landlord who told us about a bad review he’d recently received on trip advisor. We all agreed it’s better to sort out any problems with food or service whilst still at the establishment instead of just posting a bad review. He then went on to tell us how good the food was and we said we’d come back to eat. On Friday 14th June we arrived at 7.45pm to a half full restaurant but were told we’d have to wait an hour for food, we decided to wait and had a drink. 40 minutes later the landlord came over and told us we could no longer get any food! He told us the chef had a small child and needed to go home at 9pm which is when they finish. Now it was 8.25pm at this point on a Friday night! My wife and I felt really annoyed as we were hungry and had no other options to eat. We also had no recourse to complain about the tardy attitude of the landlord so I felt compelled to leave a poor review as there was no way we could get any form of satisfactory resolution. We eat out a lot and have never had such a strange and unprofessional (no) dining experience. It’s pot luck whether you’ll even get food at this place so I’d go somwhere else to avoid disappointment.

Difficult to say much that would encourage anyone to go, waited a hour for the standard Sunday lunch to arrive, despite not that busy, firstly the pork was just a pile of fat and unless edible, glasses where dirty, but that didn't matter because other than orange juice and coke there wasn't much choice other than alcoholic drinks. Such a shame that a village pub and restaurant that should have a great reputation offers this!!!

Popped in on an awful wet evening as I was looking for somewhere to break the journey and have a bite to eat. This was the closest pub that was open that evening and I was not disappointed by the food. The Hunters Chicken was very nice and home cooked chips was very nice indeed, it is a proper "local" of the sort that are disappearing. Nothing fancy but very nice and good value

Have been here on more than one occasion for food and have not been left disappointed. Sunday Roasts are exceptional. Locally sourced products all cooked to perfection. And extra gravy served with your meal for those that like a little more!!! If you like a little BBQ sauce with your meal, the Hunters Chicken comes highly recommended. Served with hand cut chips. The sweet board is not to be avoided. The ginger pudding and apple and damson pie are extremely good.Compliments to the landlord, chef and waiting staff for friendly and attentive service.

This is our 2nd visit to the Blue Post in the last month! Neither time has the food disappointed us. The 1st visit my partner had steak & I had the meat pie. Beautifully presented & extremely tasty! Today we had roast dinners. We took both our Mum’s. Two of us had the beef, the other two chicken. Presentation was like you’d find in a higher end restaurant. Plenty of veg & a jug full of tasty gravy. When the pudding menu was brought out we all couldn’t resist even though we were all full, but “everyone’s got a pudding tummy” right?!! Wow! The brownie was absolutely delicious & came with a sliced strawberry & some honeycomb....... delicious! We are all absolutely stuffed but thoroughly enjoyed every bit! The landlord & staff are very polite & make you feel very welcome, but compliments must go to the chef. Top notch, think this will be a regular place to eat from now on!

My husband and I come to this area every year staying in our touring caravan. We don't like to drive too far and Blue Post fits the bill nicely. It's an independent proper village pub that is never over busy but the food is fabulous. It changed hands a couple of years ago and we felt it went downhill. But the previous management is back and we are so pleased. We visited recently on a weekend away and the food was excellent. I had a seafood linguine that was a special, and to say it was groaning with seafood is an understatement. it looked and tasted spectacular. Thoroughly recommended. They also do a stonking meat pie (a chicken version too) and its delicious. Booking at weekend recommended. I have been quite scathing about this pub in the past (previous management) so I thought I better redress the balance and say how much we love it.

Despite living not too far away called in for Sunday lunch last week. Suffice to say a week later we returned. Pleasant staff, excellent service, the food was excellent, couldn't fault any of it and excellent value. I have paid far more for Sunday unches which weren't a patch on these. It will be my first choice for a Sunday lunch in future. Will be returning to try the evening meals as well.

Been meaning to give this place a go after hearing lots of good things. I know the new chef has been in now for about 5 months and already seems to have built up a nice little following. The food was absolutely amazing! My wife had halibut and let me have a try,it was incredible. I had the steak pie with chunky chips and I have never had better. Everything was cooked to perfection. It won’t be long before you’ll have to book here well in advance it will no doubt become very popular. They mentioned that they were going to do some renovating to freshen the place up a little bit to be honest I didn’t notice I was too busy enjoying the food! Give it a try I guarantee you will love it and it represents extremely good value for money they are charging pub prices for top notch food which really should be a fair bit more expensive than what it is. Easy 5 star

Stuck a pin in a ( google) map to find a breakfast one hour away from leaving holiday accommodation. What a find. Interesting decor showed off the home made cakes and savouries whilst we waited a few minutes for a table. Breakfast avocado with poached eggs on sourdough bread, sun dried tomatoes, chorizo and pea shoots was divine and substantial. Staff were friendly and obviously enjoyed serving and cooking as much as we enjoyed eating. Make a detour. Worth every mile and every penny.

We visited over Easter and loved all the little chocolate eggs hidden around the cafe - kept the kids entertained whilst they waited for their food! Lovely cafe with a great menu. We ordered a range of different food but loved the halloumi burger and cheeseburger especially. It’s great that dogs are allowed in this cafe but as we don’t own a dog, even better that there are two areas - one for dogs and one where dogs aren’t allowed. Service was quick and with a smile, reasonably priced too for restaurant quality food. The only improvement needed is the toilet area - could do with a update!

I don’t often go into bakery shops but we were visiting Driffield today and spotted that there was a small seating area inside at the front of the shop and a larger area further in. We were ready for coffee and a snack The shop is obviously very popular as I had to join the queue but it gave me the opportunity to look at what was on offer. Vastly superior quality to what is available in other chain bakery shops and very well priced. I don’t eat bread but the sandwiches were definitely calling to me!😹
