The best restaurants in Hipperholme and Lightcliffe Calderdale Yorkshire and The Humber

The best burger I have tasted in years, literally licked the plate clean. My son also concurred and wanted to come back the next day for another! Great beer too.

Genuinely the worst meal out we have ever experienced. Out for a birthday dinner in a party of 8. We ordered 4 roast dinners, 1 fish and chips, 1 lasagne, Childs sausage and mash and chicken goujons with chips. All the roast dinners were stone cold, with potatoes and Yorkshire that looked like they would have been inedible even if they were warm. The fish and chips had a hair in and the lasagne looked like a child’s portion. The guojons were the only good piece of food delivered to the table. When we tried to highlight this to management we got told we should have brought this to their attention when we first tried our food, despite no check back and the fact it had been about 4 minutes. We were not happy with this so the end result was the roast dinners were removed from the bill, however this was after some back and forth with the management that we spoke to who came across as rude. There is food all over the Facebook page which looks lovely, however what we experienced was the complete opposite. You could not pay me to go back and eat here, however the waitresses that served us were lovely so that was something.

Visited the store the Friday, requested fish and chips with a sausage. Upon arrival at home, i noticed that my sausage was undercooked and showed signs of what looked to be slimey jelly like substance. However, what has tipped me over the edge is this note being placed on my partners car. In which we have recently moved onto George Street, he works night shifts so finding parking at 5am is extremely difficult. So he resorts to the end of the road which is STILL on George Street, not obstructing any junctions or anything. However, the lovely owners of this shop have decided to cause what could have been a serious accident by putting a note on the side window advising that due to them having a shop not to park when he had parked. Baring in mind, there is a Tesco Car park across the road, the street is 1 way so cars shouldn’t be turning left onto the street, and there is plenty of parking on Wakefield road for customers to park and attend to there services. The owner has reacted in a very childish manner and instead of letting residents of George Street park on their own road, decided to now leave their car parked there 24/7. Which is actually contradicting what there not says. They want that space for customers however there cars going to be parked there all day and night? Sorry but make it make sense. Awful customer service, atmosphere is toxic and do not recommend this to anyone

The menu choices in this establishment has something for everyone. I chose a salad which was so good with Mediterranean flavours. This suited my healthy option diet plan. My partner enjoyed the burger which tasted great. Nice atmosphere. A great place.

We call here quite often for breakfast and have never had a poor meal or drink. Staff are lovely and friendly and food locally sourced and oh so tasty. I would defo recommend .

We called for a sandwich at lunchtime as were having a meal later. We opted for baguette & chips. I had turkey & stuffing in gravy and my husband had beef in gravy. They were absolutely gorgeous and the home cut chips were fantastic. We won't be having tea now, we were well and truly full. This was our third visit for food and have always enjoyed the home cooked food.

**Has changed hands since this review, no where near as nice.** Always fantastic, great portions and the collection times are always bang on correct to the minute. The food taste is fab and never had anything wrong. Don't hesitate get your food ordered!

Ordered King Kebab, lovely best kebab in town!

Lovely pub in fantastic location..Staff very friendly.. Only thing for me was the food and bland uninspiring restaurant..Think smaller and more tasty menu...and a cosy restaurant would give the ultimate experience..

Really disappointing. Service was lacklustre. 3 of the 4 meals were below standard Particularly the beef stroganoff. 1 of the 3 desserts wasn't edible but on the plus side the sticky toffee pudding got 10 out of 10 as did the Moorhouses beer! Shall not be going again

Waited over 2 hours for driver to turn up outside house and not have the food in the car so cancelled food order absolutely terrible service will never use again !!!
