The best restaurants in Central Barnsley Yorkshire and The Humber

After a walk into town we called here for coffee & cake for the first time on Sunday 30th Jan. This place has a real quirky interior which really added to the experience, great coffee & the nicest carrot cake at a brilliant price. Add this to a super smiley host with the friendliest service & you get a place we'd definitely visit again & certainly recommend to others.

First time, and it won't be the last Great food, the staff are very good .

First time ordering from this place and I won’t be doing it again I ordered a crispy chicken rap and a burger the chips in the rap didn’t taste cooked properly I ordered it to have salad in but there was so much salad than anything else the chicken was really chewy and I couldn’t eat it it was making me feel sick also it was very cold absolutely schooling

Everything is perfect. Food is absolutely delicious all dishes tasting very yummy. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Lovely tearoom, whether visiting with friends or on your own there's always service with a smile & you're made to feel very welcome. All food is good + all day breakfasts are really tasty & great value + the cake selection always looks delicious!

Have dined here a couple of times now and have been blown away each time. The place is sometimes very quiet but I have no idea why as it is great. Staff are extremely attentive and friendly. The food is delicious - always fresh, hot and plenty of it (especially for the price). We have tried the Chicago chicken, ribs, beef burger and chicken burger and have all been lovely. Good dessert selection too. Definitely recommend!

Very basic Italian food. Good service. Poor quality calamari, probably bought in frozen. Visited Thursday evening with group of Friends. No atmosphere.

Over 1.5 hours delivery, food was cold and soggy.

We come here on a Tuesday while grandaughter at dance we ave a drink and free game of pool as its free pool on Tuesday staff always friendly and helpful

really impressed. was a recommendation from a friend. was only 5 minutes late and delivered with an apology. food quality was great and very tasty. definitely will order again.

Really enjoyed our meal. Staff were happy to answer our questions and everything freshly cooked. A relaxed no pressure atmosphere great food and hosts well be back.

Lovely village pub serving quality no fuss food. Had the best lasagne 👌 and the rest of our party had sirloin, very tasty and all clean plates 👍👍 a definite must. Always consistent and just down to earth friendly staff. Can’t beat it.

Visited the Gresham Hotel recently and found the Black Iron Restaurant to be now closed. When I spoke to the staff, I was advised that it had only closed in the last couple of weeks.

Looks good from the outside and very traditional inside. The staff and regulars were very welcoming, the Craft beers fab and at £3 a pint so cheap. Loved the warm crackling too. Would have stayed far longer if I could. I only wish it was nearer to where I live!
