We really.like going here and have never been disappointed at either breakfast or lunch. Good food at a good price. Generally 2 mains and 2 meals are around £12 - £16. Sometimes better to book but we never do. Enjoy!!

Please review the coffee you use, sorry to say it was the worst coffee I've had! We called in for a coffee as heard good reviews of this place but left disappointed.

My husband and I called for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We struggled to get a table at first as it is quite small however once we were seated it was fine and a lovely cosy atmosphere. We both ordered the full english presented very well and cooked to perfection.

Enjoyed a quiet drink and baked potato in the outside seating area. the inside is fairly small and often busy so there may be a wait. the busyness reflects the popularity and excellent lunches!

Visited with friends for lunch after hearing good reviews. Food was good and arrived quick and was reasonably priced compared to other local cafes. Had a jacket potato which came with a salad, followed by cake and tea. Cake seemed homemade and was very nice and good priced at 1.99 a slice. For a jacket and flavoured water it was £5. Staff were so friendly. Only minor thing was that on both my glass for water and cup for tea had a couple of bits in which I had to remove and was a little off putting as I'm sure it would be for anyone.

We went to this café recently when visiting the Picasso Exhibition at the Cooper Gallery and were very impressed. The staff were very welcoming and although we only had tea and cakes there were many more tempting delights on offer. Everything was very well run and although they were busy the tables were being cleaned immediately. We can recommend the venue and will be back. Thank you.

Have had lunch here a few times recently. The food is home cooked, delicious and tasty. Very good value for money. The staff are very busy but service is quick and staff very polite and friendly. Lovely cafe and food. Would highly recommend. My husband loves the pie and peas! The home made lasagne is so delicious. We will continue to visit for lunch and other times.

We have not been here for a while but we will return as our breakfast was excellent. Great price too to include tea and toast. It was very well presented and fast service. Friendly staff really makes you want to return. A nice selection of home baked cakes were on display really wanted to come back for tea later. They also offer afternoon tea at only £5pp and it looks tasty. Easy parking out front and seating in the garden out back if needed. Its ideal.

We were lucky enough to stop here for lunch while visiting the excellent Picasso exhibition. Absolutely lovely home made food. My husband had pie and peas, delicious and incredibly well priced. I had a deliciously thick and tasty vegetable soup. Also very very yummy. If you are in Barnsley, well worth a stop.

Have been to The Cooper Gallery on numerous occasions but had never been to the café before. Visited at 1pm and it was very busy (the first day of the new Picasso exhibition) but managed to squeeze in without a wait. There was a good choice of hot and cold meals and snacks to choose from and I was even more pleasantly surprised at the price!! I had pie & peas and a cold drink all for less than a fiver! Wow! The portion size was just right and it was lovely and homemade. The quiche looked amazing but unfortunately it was sold out. I would love to try it next time. Very affordable and good quality. The staff were clearly rushed off their feet but still had the time to be very pleasant and friendly to everyone. Well done! I can't wait to return 😁

Worst food in the world. Whatever they put on my plate was an impression of an English breakfast. It probably would have tasted better if someone had actually drawn a sausage and I'd had eaten that. Horrific prices too. And I swear I heard one of the waitresses say something anti Semitic

After enjoying the latest art collection in the gallery it seemed the right time to get a refreshing drink. Such a lovely space to just 'chill out' after a wander around the gallery at leasure. The cafe was just what was needed to continue the relaxation. The staff seemed busy but friendly and the ambience is one of the best in the area. A lovely time was had by me and my friend just taking our time over our drink with plenty of elbow room too between the tables. A delightful experience.

It's almost a year since my last review and this cafe within the Cooper goes from strength. There's more space and a lovely outside terrace to sit with a coffee, glass of wine or meal.Food is freshly done with daily specials and it's a lovely environment meet and chat or like me a solo visit. Breakfasts, hot meals and sandwiches are all good value and it can get busy at lunchtime with the college close by.

Usually visit here with friends once a month or twice a month. It is always busy so recommend booking a table. The food is home cooked. I had the roasted parsnip soup which came with some lovely bread. The lasagna is also very nice as is the quiche. They also have home made cakes and scones. The staff are very efficient and friendly. The meals are served very quick. I can certainly recommend this cafe. They are just in the middle of doing some alterations to make more room for more tables.

So many times we have parked outside this cafe when visiting Barnsley, so yesterday we called in for lunch, and it was a treat.Very well priced, the food is superb quality, the staff very, very friendly. The place is buzzing as so many of the students call in for a takeaway lunch, (not surprising, proper food, properly served), all mixing with likes of us wrinkly's and mom's & toddlers. We will be calling here again and every time we visit Barnsley.

Although we pop in once or twice a week I have never thought to do a review! Friendly staff provide a wide range of quick lunches, pie and peas, lasagne and salad, a range of tasty panini sandwiches and cakes accompanied by lovely coffees, various teas and a range of fentimanns sodas. You can visit the gallery whilst you are there or just pop in for a speedy lunch when you are working as we do. It can be busy at peak times which shows how good it is as it is on the edge of town so there are other options. If you are in a hurry you can get a take out. Lovely!

Dropped in to try a light lunch and we were surprised by the amount of choice on offer. It is a lovely light and airy little spot to enjoy something to eat. We opted for one of the specials and chose the shepherds pie just because it looked so fresh and tasty. We weren't disappointed! We had a generous portion served up with garden peas for £3.45 (I think!). The food was very hot and had a generous portion of cheese topping on top of the mashed potato. We asked for tea to go with our meal and this arrived in a teapot so we could top our cups up as we felt like it. We sat close to the window and watched the world go by while we enjoyed our food. They also do a breakfast special which we will definitely be popping in to try sometime soon. What we liked was that it was real, honest food, not something that was just warmed up and dished out. We had a sneaky look at the other customers plates and everything looked just as appetising so we will visit again. I can't believe we didn't know about this little gem!

I have been to this cafe/restaurant several times and the food, service and value for money are excellent. Their daily breakfast cannot be beaten on price and the food is cooked and presented nicely too, The cakes are homemade and delicious. I especially like the scones which are so fresh they are often still warm. The staff are fantastic. They are pleasant and polite and nothing is too much trouble. I have tried both the daily roast and the quiche too...delicious. A very pleasant place to meet and eat!

This is a cafe inside the Cooper Art gallery not far from the town hall. I really like this place because it's clean, has good service and good food at bargain prices. I regularly have a very nice cooked breakfast complete with toast and a drink for £3.00They do lovely generous size sandwiches, baked potatoes with a variety of fillings and there are daily specials; I told the home made pie is good. It can get very busy at lunch time with people wanting sandwiches to take out as well as diners. Homemade baking is good too. Actor Patrick Stewart has visited twice! Impressions is run by a mother and daughter who couldn't be nicer; I would say give it a try and you will soon become a regular

We’ve for bottomless brunch for 1.5 hours, had to go to the bar ourselves for every drink we’ve ordered since. After finishing a bottomless brunch at 3pm, we were told to be quiet after 5:30pm after buying 2 bottles of Prosecco and cocktails and shots after our brunch finished. Then were told by the manager to be quiet, after spending over £300 a between us, we. Felt very welcome, we could have gone other local places that welcomed us, or gone to a larger place in Barnsley, did not expect to be kicked out after 3 hours, won’t be going again, absolutely shocking. Worst bottomless brunch ever, staff was great, and we left a tip until the manager came out, Shocking.

On Sunday 27th October we had my mothers 100th birthday family party. There was 25 of us for Sunday lunch, the meals were wonderful enjoyed by everyone of us. Everything was hot and with loads of vegetables served in side dishes. Lauren and her staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. Not only dealing with our party they were serving other customers too. Well done we definitely recommend the Travellers Inn and will be returning soon.

Came with our 6 year old. Lovely meal. The children's menu, although not many options, was good quality and large portions. The tapas were also very good quality and good sized portions (maybe 2 each is probably enough, or 3 if really hungry). The staff were very friendly and attentive. Good atmosphere in the resteraunt. Will definitely come back.

First time ordering from Shaws due to what appears to be wonderful reviews online and obviously a very busy shop. Extremely disappointed, battered sausage was simply quite vile and soggy, large fish- however came very small and not very nice, chips very underwhelming tasteless and beans were freezing cold, curry was ok. Majority went in the bin sadly.
