Evening meal with friends to be honest the food wasn't the best and cold plates for hot food isn't a great idea great vegan options

Booked a table for my family on the Friday the 8th of November we all ordered from the menu which every dish was £9.50 My family ordered the curry meal and I ordered the chicken, mash,Yorkshire and peas. My meal came and I can honestly say that it was awful, the mash had big hard lumps, the chicken was dry and rubbery and the gravy was so watery. I am not one for complaining but as I said it was awfull. When I called the manager over and explained of my experience he said ill refund your money but you get what you pay for.why would he say that.? I didn't eat the meal and he removed it. He admitted to us that it's bought in when infact the menu says all homemade. The food there has definitely declined in quality. Will not be returning

Food poor and expensive,lovely setting with outstanding views. Cosy inside and plenty of outdoor seating. Staff seemed miserable although they tried to be pleasant everything was a little forced.

I was looking for somewhere to bring my dogs and found a warm and friendly welcome with a great selection of drinks. I arrived after food had stopped for the evening but the menu looks great and prices are very reasonable. I had a lovely glass of merlot and sat in the well lit and cosy outside sitting area (lots of booths, grass area and playground in the middle) The landlady was very kind and chatty and we will certainly be back. There are lots of scheduled events so I can imagine this is a real asset to the area

Absolutely gorgeous food lots of choice. Separate vegetarian/vegan menu with lots of choice. The staff were really friendly and helpful

Very welcoming staff and very dog friendly. They even provide throws if your dog needs to sit on a seat! We visited with one of my small dogs for drinks. There is also an area which is dog free but plenty of space inside and outside if you have dogs. Doggy menu available and water bowls provided were clean with fresh water. We felt very comfortable. Cask ales were in excellent condition. At time of visit two beers from Acorn brewery and one from black sheep. Pub seemed very popular with locals and visitors (like us) alike. Would definitely recommend and would return.

Yet another excellent meal here last week, this place has it all, friendly staff, a lovely homely feel and the food is amazing. If we have one complaint it is that you are not nearer to our home!

Excellent outdoor seating and children's playground. Meals are lovely, had functions here which were expertly catered for.

Exelent food great value for money and a pot tea served out side with proper cups a big thank you for charging my friends E Bike not once but twice if your on the TPT Call in you won't be disappointed 😀 oh and proper Chunky home chips From Maris piper potatoes We will be back

Had such a lovely day here today, all staff were so lovely and smiley, they made us all feel very welcome we visited the pub today as we are a big family on a camping trip there were 16 of us all together and 5 dogs all ordering food deserts and drinks, all the food was absolutely beautiful and came out near enough all together, we had an amazing day they brought the speaker outside to create a nice atmosphere. The young man behind the bar was very lovely talking to us all and fussing the dogs hats off to everyone working in the kitchen especially in this weather. Cannot fault the place at all well worth the money paid and will be visiting again next time we come.

Delicious home made food. I had quiche this time, very good portion size and tasty. As always a well kept pint, had Ghost Ship this time. We also decided on a cocktail, Joe very kindly accommodated by making me a Long Island Ice Tea. I believe it was his first time making one and it was a very good effort, I will be having one again in the future.

Great friendly pub, visited first time, early on a Saturday afternoon on a trip back home. Staff werw extremely friendly and chatty. Prices were as expected. Had a pint and some loaded fries which were so tasty. Beautiful beer garden with views over the surrounding countryside with plenty of outside seating and a small play area for the kids. My son loved it and is eager to go back.

Really nice food again. I chose the meat feast pizza, which ranks up there with one of the best I've had. Served with fries and a salad. Had to take some pizza home , needed to leave some room for dessert. They have Old Peculiar on at the moment which seems very well kept. Nice to see it busy, and they always seem to be well staffed when due to the increased operating costs of running a business in recent years many are cutting back on staff levels.

Have often stopped here for a drink after a dog walk but not eaten here for a while so decided to book last minute. So glad we did!! Food was 1st class, friendly & helpful staff especially when we wanted to change few ingredients on food choice which wasn’t a problem. Comfortable dining. Will definitely be going again !!

Food was really good, beer wasn't the best but may have just been end of or start of a barrel? Been before and the beers been good.

Fantastic food, Amazing choices, especially in the Vegetarian Section/ Light Meals/ Meals for those with smaller appetites. All ingredients sourced locally and ethically so you know what you are eating is wholesome, and to be honest, you can taste the difference. Staff are attentive and very helpful. Everything is cooked fresh to order. There is plenty of room inside with tables and chairs arranged in such a way that you can get around without any issue. Cushions and fresh flowers add to the lovely warm atmosphere. There is a disabled toilet although I didn't use it to see how much room there was. There is a large seating area outside and at a guess that might have a level entry into the building for disabled access. I accessed the building through the main door, and that is up 3 or 4 wide steps with a rail at each side. This is a little out the way, but the effort to get here is by far outweighed by the service, the food, drink, the range and quality offered, and general ambience when entered. I felt safe here. I would recommend this to anyone wanting a quiet drink / meal or to a party looking for somewhere to celebrate a birthday / wedding / retirement / any occasion. It gets first class rating, in my opinion.

Celebrate my granddaughter sixteen birthday at the Travellers Inn. A great night, the food, atmosphere, the service was first class nothing was to much trouble.

Dropped in on many occasions when out walking and droning and making content for our YouTube channel and always a pleasant visit is had.

Fantastic place! Lovely food, the staff are very accommodating (allowing us to tweak certain items for fussy kids!) and friendly and it's good value for money. Locally sourced produce. Can personally recommend the lasagne, steak pie, ham and cheese panini, all day breakfast. And the puddings, well... beaut!

We have eaten here quite a few times. The pub is cosy and the staff friendly and helpful. On this occasion we made the wrong food choice and it was not worth the amount charged. That's the cost of living crisis I think. We aren't put off and will be back ordering something more substantial than the healthy choice menu.

Managed to squeeze us in last minute on a busy remember sunday. Very friendly team and a great value roast dinner. Big portion and really tasy.

Called off here for something to eat today, walked in and was greeted almost immediately and the lady found us a table straight away despite it being really busy, the service was superb all the way through and the food was excellent. Special thanks to the young lady that took our order and looked after us we didn't get her name but she's from Hoyland Swain she was really friendly and helpful and a credit to the pub. We will definitely be back.

Great food lovely friendly staff smashing pub

Called in for lunch just after 12noon on a Monday as a pit stop whilst out walking. Service was quick and friendly, portions were ample and the homemade chips were fabulous. A great find and well worth noting as many places don’t serve until 2pm, if at all, on a Monday. Lots of interesting looking events on the calendar too.

Great country pub great choice of different things on the menu including big vegetarian choice and just all round good pub grub with very pleasant staff.

Just eaten here again and you cannot fault anything. Absolutely lovely welcoming people and the food is amazing. I had a chicken madras from the specials board and my husband had the tapas. Well worth a visit for anyone.

Menu supports all appetites with standard and smaller portions available, also vegetarian options. Cask beers too and reasonable priced. Large outdoor area and good sized car park. Highly recommended. 👌

I come here occasionally and every time I do I'm always greeted by wonderful staff who are all smiles and ready to serve! The food is always top quality and NEVER fails to leave me stuffed yet wishing I can finish that last bite... Honestly if you're around oxpring and you haven't been here then you're really doing yourself a disservice!
