Great local cafe/bar. There’s a good variety of food options. The staff are welcoming. I’ve recently tried the cocktails on offer and I give them 9/10. Probably one of the best pina colada’s I’ve had.
Great very family & children friendly food was delicious owner took time to chat really good with the grandchildren looking forward to going again for a Sunday lunch
Very disappointing afternoon coffee and scone. All the produce tasted like cheap supermarket brands with the coffee weak and tasteless. At £8 for a scone and coffee they could really do better. The ladies were very pleasant but their constant rushing around spoils the quaint tea shop experience.
This was just absolutely the best coffee shop around, I’m gutted it has had to close due to a lack of funding. I hope someone sees sense and opens it again - it was so much more to the local community than just being a coffee shop. We miss you, Changes.
I can only be honest and fair in my experience yesterday with Lizzies cafe barn. To start, before we had even entered the cafe a lady came outside to us. (To my knowledge this is the owner so I’m surprised she had confosu text herself in this way with it being her own business). We had a baby with us and she instantly said I didn’t know a baby was coming to the event. It’s supposed to be 16 adults and 2 children and that there was already 5 children upstairs.. this instantly would make anyone feel uncomfortable with a baby in arms. We took the baby out of the pram and upstairs to find there were actually 3 children so I’m unsure why the staff member had exaggerated. the space upstairs was small which was difficult to move around. Our younger family member, a small child, does have autism and did struggle with the small space so understandably she was taken outside by another family member as there was seating outside. I went downstairs to check on my family to check find a passive aggressive Lizzie making demands for my family to move from the seating. This happened on multiple ocassions. This is unacceptable. Please, if you are considering a friendly and child friendly facility please use another places such as gluttons, which isn’t to far. your children won’t be welcome. staff need additional training on how to treat customers.
Went to jolis for a bacon sarni for the 3 days we were in whitchurch visiting our grandson the bacon was so tasty and it came in a toasted bap the atmosphere in the place was good the staff were so friendly we will deffo go back next time we visit from Newcastle
Lovely setting, friendly welcome and swift hospitable service. Sunday lunch was so tasty, great array of vegetables from cauliflower cheese to red cabbage, parsnip and roast potatoes accompanied by all the roast dinner trimming. Thoroughly enjoyed the meal and recommend, very nice outdoor dining space too
One of my regular places to visit for brunch/lunch. I usually go for the big brunch option. Every time I've had one it's been superb. Perfectly cooked and a generous portion size. Able to substitute mushrooms for an extra other item. Service is top notch also.
