Sam Pan in Redditch

Perhaps it was because they start shutting down at 10.30 and I got in at 10.28 ? Anyway, I went for the chicken in lemon sauce with EFR and a pepsi. The price was fair but when I got the meal home, having not eaten since breakfast I found the chicken to be tough, so over cooked it would not cut. The rice was burned. The pepsi was OK. Perhaps next time ill go at 7.00 pm and not in last orders.

I have lived just opposite Sam Pan's for many years and know the retired lady who worked the counter.Sam Pan's food is absolutely delicious and authentic Chinese. There's some vegetarian options too. I'm a vegetarian and tried this delicious spicy vegetable soup dish which was really tasty and filling. The shop is very small so you have to stand and wait, no chairs etc.. but this literally is fast food, a few minutes and you're done. The prices are ok, about what you'd expect but the quality is more than expected and the food is nicely packed. The food is prepared while you wait. Sam Pan is usually open late into the evenings and weekends. I like how all the menu has numbers clear descriptions and easy numbers so you can just say what you like. They usually employ English speaking person to take the orders. However the restaurant is owned by Chinese people who cook all the food and you can often see out at the back taking a break with lots of steam coming around their door at night lol

Fantastic food can't fault it when ever I'm after a Chinese this is my go to place the one and only downfall! They don't take card but there is a cash machine right next to It!

I used to like the food from Sam Pan and was disappointed with my last meal.Sadly the quality and taste of the dishes is lacking so disappointed as it was fairly decent in the past!!

We ordered a relatively large home delivery meal from a local supposedly 'upmarket' Chinese restaurant which offers takeout meals. After waiting almost 2 hours for our food, we rang up and cancelled the order. We had not been advised of the long delivery time. My argument was that if the chefs were busy cooking for the restaurant, they shouldn't offer home delivery meals if they can't cope. Down to business. Sam Pan is a basic looking takeaway only 'restaurant'. It has been situations at Winyates shopping centre for as long as I can remember, at least 25+ years. Not once have they ever let us down. Okay, so they don't do home delivery yet, but you can phone your order through and be advised of an approximate waiting time for collection. They have an extensive menu which includes a sample English menu too. It's all delicious, well priced, good sized portions. It's a very good, simple, no frills place. It has chairs for waiting, newspapers on the counter and brilliant food. Why I chose the 'upmarket ' restaurant is beyond me. Should have stuck with what I knew. Lesson learned.

Food here is always good. Tastes fresh and authentic.. sweet and sour crispy chicken balls divine and all the sauces are very tasty Wouldn't go anywhere else

everything was fantastic from the staff to the food, would recommend this place to everyone we had chicken and mushrooms boiled rice, pancake roll, chicken curry exceptional food at good prices ,

I have used this takeaway for many months and it was exceptionally good. The chicken was proper succulent chicken but then something changed. The staff informed me that all the chicken was now breast meat. Great! I thought. What I then found was that this lovely, special takeaway, became in my opinion just like every other takeaway in Redditch appearing to serve formulated flat pieces of rubbery proccessed chicken meat in their meals. No longer in my opinion special, just a run of the mill average takeaway. Such a shame.

Been using this take away for 25 years , it puts all else to shame and you will not find better. Outstanding quality and service. Thoroughly recommended

Have used this Chines take away over the last 20 years, you will not find one better, & excellent value for money

Ordered a chicken and mushroom chow mien and another meal for my partner and it was just tasteless. The chow mien had little taste at all but worse was the chicken it just did not look, taste or resemble chicken. Then I hit a large chunk of gristle and the rest went into the bin. The mushrooms were also shrivelled severely which as most will know that this means they are old. My partner was not over struck with her meal either. Prawn crackers and curry sauce were both fine. Looking at other reviews maybe I just hit them on a bad day.

This is the best chinese takeaway in the whole of Redditch. Food cooked to order good value for money.

Ok, done the 'best Chinese takeaway in Redditch' search on Google and SAM PAN, winyates centre came up with really good feedback. So we ventured too winyates shopping centre. The lady behind the counter was polite and helpful, the chefs ALL wore chef whites which were clean and very presentable,you can see into the kitchen from the shop and the kitchens looked spotless ( great start). The food was brilliant, WHY! did I not find this place sooner. Pointless going out for a meal as the food tops anything I've eaten before. Winyates, by the way, also sports the best fish and chip shop in Redditch and has won several awards. Have we found the new take away food centre of Worcestershire? Give it a go you won't be disappointed 😜

Fab take away. Ordered for 5. Food was piping hot, tasty and plentiful. The place gets busy with a steady flow of customers. The ribs and spicy prawns were really good. If only they delivered...

Always have take away from here best in Redditch, staff are really friendly, food is excellent every time

I've ordered here a few times in the past, and never had any complaints -the set menu is a particular favourite, and decent value. In fact, the only reason we don't eat here more often is they arnt on one of the internet delivery sites, and I can be too lazy to walk to the shop!

Always get our Chinese takeaway from here and I can honestly say that its the best tasting Chinese around.12 years and never had a bad one yet .

Surprisingly from winyates centre a gem is discovered, amazing Chinese, highly recommend, just make sure you per book so you don't have to spend a second extra winyates centre

love the food every time, highly recommend the house special curry with chicken fried rice:-) freindly receptionist with which you can have a pleasent conversation with while you wait, sam pan really is the best in redditch!:-)

I love their vegetarian dishes. Garlic and Chilies beancurd always on my list, mixed vegetable and very tasty sweet corn soup.

fairly priced, good quality flavoursome food. i read reviews before trying something new but never take any notice of them, so i thought if im going to write a review i need to make people want to try this establishments menu. It really is good food. I will always order from this establishment.
