visited this chinese on a recommendation as sam pan at winyates was shut, very disappointed firstly CASH ONY and we all know why that is!!! then beef chow mien the beef was chewy and had to spit most of it out with the actual chow mien being very bland and tasteless! the egg fried rice was appalling and tasted like a bag of uncle bens £1 microwave rice, then we also had chicken balls sweet and sour which were doughnuts with the jam taken out and chicken put in! we also had chips which were white they were that undercooked and hard in the middle! never again sorry

Extremely disappointed with this Chinese been coming here for years but gone down hill the last 6 months to a year I found when Claire (the owner) was running the Chinese the food and atmosphere was really good but the new counter staff are very rude stand there blank and demanding for your money and food has gone down hill haven’t come back since and now going to the other Chinese up the road.

Horrendous place! The most rude man on reception, growls at you when he got the order wrong. Has put the phone down on me twice because of his wrong doing! Will NEVER use this Chinese again. Shame because the lady owner is lovely!

Pop in on a Saturday evening ordered special chow mien, Sweet sour chicken balls , special fried rice. Chips , pancakes rolls . Free prawn crackers. All the dishes was amazing, Fresh & hot . The young lady who served us was so friendly. Definitely be back for more of this hidden gems delicious food . ❤️

Had a nice young girl the phone and was helpful then after getting the order i phone as of a problem and a different lady answered and try to say i was wrong and not helpful. Had two other people try the food and agreed it was not right. So not coming back and will be going else were plus i know your delete this but i have screen shot it

Great menu. Super tasty food. Love the noodle dishes. Call ahead and collect when it's ready, order for home delivery or order and wait in store. Cash only so be advised.

Consistently good food. I order from here a lot , the sweet and sour chicken balls are the best in Redditch. I usually have Yuk Sung , however that last couple of times it seems like vegetable sung , too much carrot and a bit lacking in pork . Anyway great food and good service

The best Chinese in Redditch no doubt!

Had beef in black bean sauce - bit salty but still enjoyed it. Surprised to find out only cash payments which was a bit annoying as ATM next door charges.

Chose to telephone my order and collect, rather than using the delivery service. As always, ready at the agreed time and hot,tasty and well presented. I have no hesitation in recommending this establishment. Can be difficult to park close by at busy times

Awful, paid £15 for a chow mein, yuk sung, and 3 spring rolls. Don't know how they can justify that price, thought it was a mistake but not! Wouldn't mind being ripped off price wise if the food was good but the chow mein was sloppy, and it all just tasted dirty. Never order from here again

I ordered a chow mein with no veg for my child which was confirmed by the lady on the phone. Delivery came and it had veg. The young girl on the phone said it was definitely on the order but when she went to speak with the chinese lady about it I heard her say oh that's my fault for not putting it on. Mistakes happen I appreciate that but the Chinese lady came on the phone with the worst attitude ever saying well if you want a replacement it will take 45 minutes?? For something that they got wrong? I said this was not good enough it was one replacement dish. She then began to raise her voice and shout saying well 20 minutes is the best I will give you replacement only if you give wrong one back to my driver. With covid how it is, I pray this lady does not reuse this food however judging from her horrible attitude and the demand to have it back I think someone will be having a chow mein that was opened in my house and that my child touched. I have no problem with the food being sent back but I am not convinced it won't be 'recycled'. Would not return. Do you wish to address ladies disgraceful attitude shouting at a customer? Also, the original delivery was fast, it was the replacement that would take 45 minutes. This is unacceptable. Also, why would I collect a replacement when I paid for a delivery? Poor management and poor customer service.

There are SO MANY terrible Chinese takeaway places in Redditch. Golden House is the only one that has never let me down.The food is always warm & tasty when it arrives, and they are honest with you on the phone about delivery times. I always receive my order within an hour, even on Saturday nights which seems to be impossible from most other places.They have a good hygiene rating too (I'd check if you're ordering from elsewhere in Redditch if I were you)Singapore Chow Mein, Salt & Pepper Chips, Curry Sauce and ribs all particularly lovely.

Called through and arranged a collection of Singapore chow mein, special curry and salt & pepper chips.Wait time was around 20 mins which was no problem. Food was hot and full of flavour, really tasty.Young lad on the desk was polite and friendly even though it was busy.My only issue is it's "cash only" which can be an issue if you don't carry cash like me.

telephone order and home delivery was very quick and one of the best meals we have had for a very long time. Very pleased.

I have purchased food from Golden house, Redditch, for several years considered food excellent, tonight the order was roast chicken chips plus chicken balls in batter egg fried rice and chips, shock horror !!!!! chips were so overcooked could not chew them chicken and rice overcooked, chicken balls passable, chicken plus chips and rice found a new home in waste bin, this was a treat for us from my granddaughter as due to having tests at hospital today i could not eat for previous 24 hours, on calling to complain there was no apology but she would tell them about it next time, there will not be a next time, APPALLING.

Food was good tasty and hot just needed some more pineapple in the sweet and sour but will be back

Use this takeaway regularly,food is always fresh and very tasty.The owner is very friendly and it is the only Chinese take away i use now.

Use the Chinese a lot had no problem till asked for extra sauce ok top of house special rice was told no problem then when collecting checked again it has extra sauce was told it did got food and was exactly the same as when I have ordered in the past very dry. Phoned back to ask about extra sauce was told was just on top which isn’t what was told on the phone when collecting, then continue to say could pay £1.80 and go back to collect more sauce. Wasn’t bothered about the charge more that wasn’t told this the first two times then would have to go back by the time I have my food would have been cold very poor costumer service

I ordered my food and collected and was polite and pleasant, when I opened my 'hoisin chicken' and had a half sweet and sour half gravy order it was discusting and 95% vegetables. When I called and explained what had happened and asked if I could bring it back and replace it and all I got was abuse and shouted at as they insisted I had the correct meal. Do not go here. Where is the chicken in that meal? And does it look like hoisin sauce. Very disappointed

Have ordered from here previously and never had a complaint.............. however this evening we have ordered a take out and was not what we expected food was extremely dry and no flavour to any of it really......a huge disappointment shame really as normally food is great wont be ordering from here for a while

I've just sent the other half to go collect a take away for us, we frequent Golden House. Their food is packed full of flavour and the portions are a good size. The red Thai Curry is delicious and the salty chilli ribs too. They do not take card so have cash handy and if you are ordering for delivery, let them know how much change you have. Small family run business offering really good value for money.

Just have to leave a review!!! Great food, fresh, authentic, good quality and hot even on a delivery service. We haven't had take out food for a while due to bad experiences from some of the other take out businesses in Redditch. The reviews looked consistently good and they were right. We kept our first order simple, this was not our usual big family order, so we had the Singapore fried rice, chips and the King prawn Thai green curry(definitely king prawns), hot and sour soup, plain boiled rice and it all tasted great! Looking forward to our next meal and we can be sure to explore the rest of their menu. Thanks Golden House

Picked up 2 curries tonight. Horrible gloopy sauce, bland boiled onions and slimy king prawns ... chicken one slightly better but still just chicken , onion and sauce you stand a spoon up in. Really unappetising.Might just be a different chef but doesn’t make us want to rush back .. shame.

I have ordered from this place before which was ok but the delivery driver never has change, order a second time and again driver had no change and my order was wrong, called and explain and all I got was abuse and was told I had the correct items, I couldn’t believe why I was hearing, what ever you do don’t order yuk sung and check your chowmein, I ordered the pork yuk sung and I got the vegetable one and when I asked what was in the vegetable one she said carrot and chestnut but this is what I got. I also order the house special but got chicken.

Hands down the best Chinese in redditch I have literally had a drunken trip to every single one in the town but this one's the best. Only downside is its cash only.

Booked food at 17.30 for collection at 19.00 arrived at correct time. No food ready. 15 to 20 minute wait. Also the place is cash only. Looks like I was not the only person having to wait.
