Good friendly service and good tasty food Every time I’ve had a take away my there has been no concerns order spot on . But last 3 times I have been when I have got home it’s not the order I have asked for you Need to be careful with your orders… I’ve paid for king prawns in the past and have been given chicken ! Just making you aware

The portions aren't what they used to be.They say they are the same but a lot smaller and not as tasty.ive been using for 35 years and it's a shame I won't use again.!

This was my first visit. To the lively family run take away. Lovely food, I highly recommend the prawn toast and sweet & sour sauce, absolutely delicious. Very fair prices, plus they take cash / card absolute bonus. Highly recommended.

This is by far the best Chinese takeaway. Also accepts card. Always a great service even when busy, so i highly recommend! My favourites are crispy Duck and boiled rice. Sweet and sour chicken Cantonese. The Prawn toast is delicious also.

Gone downhill. This place was great, I think it's changed hands now. They have new phone lines, new menu and the food has declined rapidly. The portion sizes are a lot smaller (one of the main reasons I used to go here was because it was great value for money) dont think I'll be coming back unfortunately, such a shame

Food is very good together with it being ready by the predicted time. The problem was with the items requested not being part of the order received. To make things easy, I wrote down what was required, including the menu number and the qty required. But when I got home, I found there was one of everything when there should have been 3 of one item and 2 of another, which put a bit of a dampener on the evening as we had to share what we had out amongst those there. On checking the amount paid and the menu, it appeared I had not been charged, or I would have contacted them about a refund. Pity lovely food.

After 36 years I've never had anything not upto standard. Beautiful , delicious , and always great value.

Collection only. The fact that they don't do deliveries, tells you they have all the business they want. For good reason. Plentiful portions, tasty food well packed. I don't often go for takeaway, but this place is always on my goto list. You will not be sorry ordering from here. They do take cards for payment.

Had to wait twice as long as they had predicted but as they where struggling with the orders the food was spot on fabulous ⭐️

Was poor. First i had trouble ordering when i called then i collected the food and it was minging, over cooked and tasted of pure deep fried fat. Crispy chicken balls could have been used as a golf ball they was so hard. Sweet n sour sauce was like jelly. Wont be going back here any time soon.

Great variation of menu choices. We had something a little different to our normal choices and the food was great. Hot and well cooked and prepared.

Sadly after 12 years being a regular customer we will no longer be using. Food standard has dropped in the last twelve months. Orders often missing dishes. When we called to query the gentleman said it was not his problem and hung up the phone. There are so many takeaways to choose from so it seems unusual to have this attitude.

No question that this Chinese food is the best for miles and has been consistently high standard for years. Highly recommend the Singapore chow mein.

Chicken chop suey bland and watery. I could go on but what’s the point it was simply ghastly never again.

Decided to try somewhere different for my Chinese takeaway and it was both good and bad, the counter assistant was pleasant, food quality good and fast service. The bad was from seeing the reviews and seeing the rating I ordered bbq spare ribs they were just ok nothing special and a prawn and char sui pork chow mein, they didn't add the char sui and the prawns were cooked in a chilli sauce which became inedible the more you ate too much chilli and I have never had a chow mein with chilli in it before maybe just their style? But not a traditional chow mein taste and there was no indication from the menu that it was cooked with chilli I could have been allergic to chilli some people are. For the money it cost for average food I will not be going there again will try somewhere else next time.

Visiting family choose this takeaway as the closet Not disappointed very clean and bright, service with a smile. Food delivered quickly although busy still hot when it was on the plate. Best Lemon Chicken my wife has had for years. Would certainly recommend

Just picked up a beef curry with egg fried rice and chips it is disgusting beef like plastic the sauce was watered day made the rice so soggy if I did not live so far I Would of took it back

Had this for the first time yesterday and I'm so glad we did. It was cooked really quickly, and it was really flavoursome. We'll be using this takeaway again, and would recommend it :)

Chow mein was bland and very greasy and the crispy aromatic duck was not crispy and mainly just fat . Chips were cold very disappointed on this visit . Binned everything other than the chicken fried rice .

Great food well done and quick. Good selection of dishes and not too greasy. Old school aluminium dishes keep the food nice and warm. Always quick in prep and handed over with a smile. Collection only and delivery option would be good.

Has to be the best Chinese takeaway around Redditch. Plenty of choice and no skimping on the ingredients or portions.

This Takeaway Chinese has been our favourite for 20 years but they never delivered until the Covid19 virus. So we have always used but over last few years when you get home knackered in a Friday you want delivery and we’ve used other takeout Chinese that delivered, not a patch on this place, please please don’t stop delivery when we get out of this dark tunnel, food delicious, hot and great delivery time. Come on everyone review and tell them to “keep delivering “

Love the food here, they are very reasonable priced but the food is superb, easily the best Chinese Food in and around Redditch. They don't delivery and it isn't a Just Eat, which is a good thing in my opinion because quite often the quality and ingredients suffer to maintain a profit, no worries of that here, portions are good. Lovely people too, and if you have any preference of changes they are happy accommodate. Enjoy!

As a family we have used Astwood House for takeaways for years and always thought it was the best one around. Tonight we had a takeaway with a rice missing and the mushroom curry (usually my favourite) was greasy and tasted horrible. Looks like we will be finding a new Chinese takeaway

Disappointed. The beef chow mein was very greasy, the pork yuk sung full of fatty lumps and different batches of meat (could tell it was a mix), some burnt and the chicken chow mein just tasted of soy sauce. Sorry to write this but we wouldn't return unless we knew things had improved. Let's hope the chef was just having a bad day.

Had take away over bank holiday and three weeks earlier both times chicken was of a poor quality,used to be good but gone down hill don’t know if suppliers changed or the takeaway taken over but won’t be rushing back. It’s put me off takeaways for a while.

I went to Astwood House this evening to order some dinner for myself and my family. I was advised a 15 minute wait and this was fine by me. Half an hour passed and I realised the woman on the till was calling out numbers for orders so I went up and asked why I wasn’t given one (and thought maybe this was why my order hadn’t been given to me yet), I was told that I didn’t need one as I ordered in the shop. 45 minutes passed so I asked how long she expected my order to take... I was told to wait a couple of minutes. After an hour, the woman then double-checked my order twice (both times getting it wrong and at which point I realised that it must have been forgotten) and was then told it wouldn’t be long. I was then called back up and told it would be another 15 minutes and they’d offer me £5 off the next time I visit. No apologies were made during my wait and I think that’s a pathetic offer considering I’d had to spend an hour of my Friday night sat waiting for a takeaway that would’ve never shown up had I not have asked. I decided that I would prefer to take my custom elsewhere as they were so unapologetic. The woman processed me a refund, mumbled an apology (all the while taking an order from someone else). We have lived in Astwood Bank for 22 years now and have always used this Chinese without any issues and unfortunately after this, we won’t be going back.

Popped in to get a take away ordered & waited. Busy with telephone calls/orders. Just one customer waiting when we got in. After we ordered three more customers came on & ordered. All three of these customers were given their food before us. When I queried what had happened they scurried around to find our order which was still missing a portion of chips. A packet of chips were taken out of another order. They didn't seem bothered that they had forgotten our order. Obviously £15 order not important enough. Food average curry sauce too hot service rubbish. If you have nothing better to do but sit around wasting your time this is the place to go.

Excellent choice of food, although i must confess that being a vegetarian i generally have the same each time. Good sized portions and helpful staff. Dont go on a Tue as they're closed.

Been going here for 20+ years... it's my go to Chinese... shame they don't deliver though, but owrth the effort to go and collect, and is always waiting ready when I get there.

My family & I along with our friends have been using this take away for many years but, have found that lately the food seems to lack its former distinctive quality & taste; which is a pity as we used to enjoy a Chinese takeaway especially on a Friday evening after work and heading into the weekend.

I have been having takeaway food from here for over 10 years and went in last week to collect one for my sister and I. No idea what was happening but had to wait ages and then they got the order wrong for a lady in the Q ahead of us and she had to wait while they cooked her chips. We got home and a rice was missing from the food and I called to complain and they said you never ordered rice!! we are having a bad day!!! Not really good enough, anyway went on to eat the meal and cooked a pack of my rice to go with it and could not actually eat the Cantonese duck as it had way to much salt in it, appalling actually. I have to say it is the first bad meal I have ever had from here and this has always been a fantastic takeaway, but what is it with Chinese owners.... they don't like criticism and never apologise or offer a free meal next time etc, will go again, but be warned if they don't pick up within 30 seconds and the food isn't ready when you get their with you number and time they advised to collect then they are having a bad day!!!

Not sure if it's under new management but the food has gone downhill in the last 2 months. I ordered 2 soups which used to be very good but the crabmeat and sweetcorn soup tonight tasted like hot water and my wife's hot and sour soup tasted of nothing but salt. The ribs were ok but my special duck was mostly fat and my wife's Jang bao pork was ok but a bit tasteless. Don't think we'll be going back which is a shame because it's been the best for 3 years.

Good food and it's always ready but they don't deliver

Not impressed with the last few meals bought from this long running take away which we have used for the last 25 yrs ! Just had chicken chow mein & a portion of mushrooms & a spring roll ! . The chow mein was wishy washy in taste , bland , mushrooms were not good either but the worst was the spring roll , sloppy soggy & falling to bits full of extreme grease soaked in it unfit to eat & off putting & went in the bin , if it wasn't the fact that we drove 8 miles both ways we wound of taken it back won't be going back ! Such a Shame !
