I rang hoping to enjoy an exceptional lunch. The owner told me that sadly her husband had died last year and as he was the famous chef she was no longer serving meals to non residents.
Everything we had was really tasty. We ordered about 4 starter plates to begin and then after we had eaten them we ordered 2 main course plates and 2 sides. This was a perfect amount of food for 2 and was reasonably priced for the quality. We particularly liked the cod croquettes, the wood fired sea bass and beef in Chianti. Serivce was very good and there were some nice touches - complimentary lemoncillo at the end and they allowed us to buy one glass of Chianti despite the menu stating you could only buy it by the bottle.
Not only do Bayleys serve the best coffee in Bromsgrove, and whoever serves you is genuinely lovely, the toilets stocked emergency sanitary products which helped me out of a predicament unplanned for on Saturday when meeting friends for coffee.

I thought about whether to write this it's in my village and I'd like to see local businesses thrive but if this is the standard I doubt it will be around much longer . It took an age (we collected) which is ok. There was a dish with chicken and beef mince I don't recall ordering it, proper salty. They have previous for incorrect dishes its literally a lottery when you go to plate up the order.
One dish historically they've done well is the chilli chicken , alas this was poor , we had the lentil dish which reminded me of the squits. The chicken chettinand was bang average. There was a distinct lack of flavour in all the dishes
I don't usually order a tikka massala and wish I hadn't the sauce was runny like a soup. The chicken tikka was ok there was little paneer as advertised.
On a positive note the containers were good quality and we left most of it so I don't feel guilty for over eating . Sort the chefs out ASAP ...
Not the review I wanted to put. I was aiming to attend for lunch today on my day off. With my daughter and mom. I walked in at 2pm and sat on the table waiting for my mom to ask for a high chair for my daughter. I waited 15/20 mins or more for a high chair. As a member of staff said "it's outside". I know they've only got one high chair, which I fully understand as there is limited space. Due to this me and my mom didn't order food just in case the high chair was in use by someone else.
So, when I finally received the high chair. I went to order food to be told "the kitchen is now closed" and I said when did it close? And the lady said "just now" and I said well I've been waiting for this high chair now for at least 20 mins and I didn't want to order food in case someone was using it outside? The staff unfortunately didn't care that I was waiting for so long so then I couldn't have any food?
I've been coming to the tea rooms for a long time and I love their afternoon tea. But unfortunately the service I received today was horrible. The last thing I wanted to do is write this review. But non of the staff apologised.
Really great little place, tasty food, pleasant staff and good service, great value for money. Free access to retro gaming was so fun, mad me remember what it was like to go out properly!
We caught the last opening day of this delightful small walled garden nursery. The cafe is set within the garden with some tables spread amongst the flower beds. Quality of food was very good. The venue is a place for loyal locals and visiting horticultural enthusiasts alike. Will definitely visit again when it reopens in the Spring.
I visit the oxleathers daily, great pub, there's ducks, birds and rabbits for the kids to look at, friendly and very helpful staff, karaoke every Friday night,
