Lovely food - fresh vegetable tart with home made pastry and ploughman’s with delicious traditional roast ham. Friendly staff, pleasant beer garden.

Absolutely awful reception. Cold atmosphere. No one behind the bar. Shown to our table that wasn’t even laid despite booking. Not at all interested in serving us so we walked out. Trying to support local businesses but won’t be going there again. Terrible

Went for afternoon tea with my daughter and friend as part of birthday celebrations. The positive; Lovely assortment of teas which when offered a refill we could change flavours. Delicious quiche. Sandwich bread nice (although fillings were a little basic and 4 small quarters only) Friendly waiter. Nice meringue and blondie The Negatives The scones. They were dreadful. Had obviously been in the freezer, reheated leaving them dry, virtually like a biscuit. They were also tiny and honestly either one bigger one, or two of that size would be better. Could have done with a bit more cream and the jam tasted like Tesco basic rather than locally made. The salted caramel cheesecake, none of us ate it as it was unpleasant. The panacotta was fine, but a weird choice for an afternoon tea, especially as there were several nice looking cakes on the counter. I would have said something as we left, but as we had to prepay there was absolutely nobody around to speak to on the way out. All in all felt a bit disappointed. It definitely looked nicer than it tasted as you can see from the pics

This pub really does very good food indeed, totally recommend and staff were friendly and helpful indeed.

So looking forward to eating here! Sadly very disappointed, had a time limit on table which we understood being busy day , unfortunately our breakfasts were late and incorrect , which felt rushed . Staff were unfriendly and unwelcoming, overheard making comments to each other about other families with children. Not a smile or any customer service throughout our morning which was noticed by all our friends. Lovely food , lovely premises , awful service to which we would not recommend.

Food was very basic. Greasy value chips. Steak, Rib Eye, was burnt and chewy. The salad was a ball of water cress. One tomato. Ice Cream fine. Cheese platter tasted like value cheese. Didn't expect this when I'd seen the photos on the website so I just summized it must have changed hands. Just duff.

Nice welcome then we felt a bit left to it. Food was ok puddings not good & cold coffee then had to wait around to pay. Shame!

Toast is always an amazing experience and now they have the Deli too, it's quickly becoming a weekly visit.

Lovely meal and nice pub. My son had the Mac and Cheese and loved it. I had the pizza - base was amazing, sauce tangy but really nice.

Great place Stewart & his staff do a great job and make you feel very welcome weather it's just for a drink or for food as well keep up the good work guys 👦

Had a beautiful roast lunch at the Red Hart today. Delicious tender roast beef for me, and lovely roast lamb for my husband, served by friendly nice staff. Can't wait to visit again
