Fishcakes were gorgeous. The atmosphere is calming and inviting, with good music so I enjoyed my visit. Waiting times were longer than average but that's not a criticism if you want to relax and soak up the atmosphere! I'm working and staying in the area so this is on my list for repeat visits to sample more on the menu.

Good, friendly service. Good food. Had a very nice vegetarian wrap and fries. Personally, I would prefer more real ales. Nice ambience.

Great pub.. awsome atmosphere..especially when it's cold wet and cold outside the open fire is great, we ordered starters today as it was a special occasion.. mum's 80th.. they were spectacularly over priced and culinary underwhelming.. a very few calamari on a big plate with some sort of mayonnaise.. we also ordered mushrooms In a cheesey/ garlic.. sauce technically it was as described .. but It wasn't good, looked and tasted like it had been microwaved... the main meal took for ever,to arrive even mum felt compelled to ask when the food would arrive.. we all ordered the trio.. the beef was good .. the pork seemed a much smaller portion than our previous visit and the turkey was miniscule.. we ordered side of cauliflower cheese and mashed potato... there was more cheese sauce than cauliflower.. and I might be wrong but mozzarella should be used on pizza not a Sunday lunch.. the mash was OK... I really like the nightingale. But at a £150 plus drinks for 5 it came up short by some margin today I will really think twice about returning... such a shame!!!! .

Great reception and service from Sam L as usual. Cosy atmosphere. Excellent meal of lamb shanks and small pud with a drink. Well done chef. Come on Vintage Inns sort out the tatty chair and also rubbish in the car park. You are letting your excellent hard working staff down.

Nice meal close to home. So ideal being on the doorstep but still in the countryside, I had the lamb shank. My kids had pizza and chicken burger. And partner had beef burger. Good size portions, lamb shank was tasty the meat fell off the bone, the children liked there meals. And so did my partner, All the staff seamed very friendly and helpful. I will go again in the coming months. When spring is here , will enjoy a Guinness out in the garden

The sticky chicken starter is to totally die for. So is the wine and the Neck Oil. Mac & cheese is the best I've ever had. Sam L is the best hostess and the young waitress is superb. Will over visit this pub.

Visited January for a work team lunch, around 10 people, food was really good and came out pretty quickly, i had a beef dripping toased sandwich and it was delicious! Staff were very friendly and there was a nice atmosphere in the pub. Plenty of free parking next to the entrance. Would recommend for lunch and will visit again.

I visited as part of a party of 12. The service was fantastic and my main meal of rib eye steak was perfect. Sadly I have dropped one star on this review as firstly I had the trio of ice cream for pudding at £5.95 which should have been three scoops but was barely three table spoonfuls. Very poor portion size for the price. I did mention it when paying and was told it would be raised with the kitchen and a sorry. No offer of a reduction in price dues to poor portion size. Secondly a surcharge was added to my bill without my knowledge. I did not see any mention of a surcharge or informed that this would happen. I always leave a tip if I think the staff deserve it, and in this case they did, but that should be my choice. Another member of my party told me later that it was optional but at no point was this brought to my attention. As I said my steak was amazing and the staff excellent just felt dissapointed over the two aforementioned issues.

We visited on a wet, cold February lunchtime. The welcome from Sam was as warm as the roaring fire. Both very welcome. There was only Sam and her colleague running everything this day, but the customer service and communication was excellent. Polite, explained if there was a slight delay, acknowledged customers who had arrived so they knew they had been seen. In this day and age, were some staff don't acknowledge you and you are left waiting not knowing why, it was a breath of fresh air. The food and ambience Were first class. Thank you Nightingale staff for a great lunch experience.

Decent pub food for the price but the service was excellent, friendly and attentive towards our large party.

We dropped in on speck on Thursday 30th January were welcomed by Sam L and taken to a table by the fire we chose fish and chips cooked to perfection with no waiting. We were looked after by Sam L a credit to Stuart and his team thank you all.

Very slow service. Excessive wait to order and then long wait for starters meant we had our food close to an hour after sitting down. Mentioned wait to staff as we paid and they were dismissive - quoting the time ordered and acting like we were being unreasonable. Came across as quite rude to be honest. Food okay at best. Didn’t get to try desserts as we had enough and left. Definitely not one we will bother with again.

Great place to visit in Cheltenham

Wow, this place has certainly turned around from a year ago. The ambience, the service, thanks to the amazing Sam, despite being run of her feet, was efficient, polite and so professional. The food , we had the Lamb Shank and the Pie of the day, both were outstanding. We give it 10/10 and highly recommend. Maybe another waitress might take the pressure of the other staff members, just an observation. Thank you and we will definitely be back.

It’s a lovely pub, great for a family meet up. Customer services was excellent, met expectations, the team worked well from taking the order, serving the food and drink and refilling drinks etc, food was excellent, definitely recommend the curry.

We have been to the nightingale several times recently and our experience has been very good. Especially with Sam L. Very efficient, pleasant and polite. Food really good too.

We’ve recently started visiting this pub as they’re dog friendly and we’re training our dog to be settled in a public place. We’ve always received a warm welcome from the team and everyone has taken the time to make sure our pup has everything he needs. Food has been great quality and service has been fabulous. Highly recommend, especially if you’re looking for somewhere to go with your dog in tow.

I had an amazing dining experience at The Nightingale! From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was inviting and cozy. A warm welcome not only from the staff, but the roaring fires! The service was top-notch—attentive, however not overbearing. The menu offered a great variety of options . I tried the Signature Burger, definitely a good choice and worth every penny. It is also nice to see the staff genuinely care about providing a great experience, and likewise this being reflected in my food. I can't wait to return and highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a delicious, memorable meal! Thank you Team Nightingale!

I normally don't do reviews but I had to on this occasion, it was such a good day and totally worth checking out, thats why I have decided to comment. What can I say, visited the first time and it was great. The food quality was spot on and came out quickly. Food was delicious, me and my husband enjoyed eating there. The atmosphere and place was nice and clean. Staff were super helpful and polite. Thank you for the lovely meal!

Visited a couple of months ago and had a very pleasant meal. Decided to go this evening for my Wife's birthday and the food was very very under par. If we had not been with friends I would have sent my Gammon & my wife's Steak back. They were both extremely tough and tasteless. Not sure we would visit again which is a shame.

We came yesterday a family of 12 for an 80th Birthday we all had something different from the menu and everything was perfect such a lovely atmosphere and the service was excellent couldn't fault anything.Thank you.🤗

What a lovely, quaint, friendly little country retreat. So glad we booked this afternoon on the spur of the moment. Greeted warmly by one of the very polite young team and offered drinks shortly after. Food is delicious and the atmosphere is just as we like it, the young team are bubbly and fun meaning you can have a laugh which is great. I didn't get the young ladies name that looked after my table but she's an asset to the business. We will 100% be using the nightingale for frequent meals out. bravo to the team.

We have been twice for Sunday dinner and found it to be superb. Gorgeous interior, cosy, log fire, attentive staff and very tasty dinner. We went on a Saturday night and food was super as previous visits, but the service was entirely different. Not that friendly, left ages before being offered drinks and kind of felt like a different pub. Saturday night staff need to up their game.

We had a beautiful meal with this evening at The Nightingale. There was a choice of 2 menus with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. The food was gorgeous and the staff were extremely friendly, polite and helpful. Would highly recommend and will definitely visit again. Thank you!

Stopped in on our way home, had never been here before but we will definitely be back. The staff were lovely and attentive, and the food was hot and delicious.

10/10 Have not visited the nightingale for some years. Had lunch today for husbands birthday.. Food was served quickly and was piping hot and fresh.. did not seem to have been sat around and reheated. Well presented and good sized portion. A fantastic range of options on the menu. Service was excellent, staff really friendly and attentive, nothing too much trouble. We were looked after by Stuart, so thank you Stuart we will definitely be back.

We had become regulars at The Nightingale, as the food previously has been good with highly attentive staff, and a comfortable atmosphere. Disappointingly tonight the staff were most inattentive and some of the dishes were not as described on the menu. I did mention our disappointment when paying the bill, but no interest was shown. Sadly, I think our days of being regulars are over.

Warm and inviting restaurant area, lovely friendly welcoming staff . Food was all lovely and came out in good time. I had a special request for a certain table which we were shown to as we had a new born baby and pram with us. We were made to feel very special.

A very clean pub. Food usually very good. I had the Singapore curry, but it was over spiced. Not it's usual standard. The pub seems to lack soul/atmosphere but I guess this kind of pub will.

We had booked for Sunday lunch on 29 December. We were shown to our table by a lovely young lady who then took our order for drinks. We perused the menu, decided what we wanted to order and gave our order to the server. After a wait of more than half hour our food arrived. The servings were OK and the food itself was good. However, we were disappointed that everything was lukewarm. Having waited do long for it to arrive we didn't complain as it was mid afternoon and we didn't want to wait any longer to eat. I would have thought that our food should have been freshly cooked after the wait but everything must have been reheated. As I said, disappointing.

The Inn offered very friendly welcoming atmosphere. The food was excellent served by friendly waiting staff. Will happily revisit again.

Lovely pub, friendly service. The food was good, we enjoyed the roast turkey from the seasonal menu. The staff were very attentive and the young man who served us was excellent! The only issue I had was that I have a severe allergy to dogs and cats, and there were several dogs in there, I moved seats to be further away, as the allergy brings on asthma attacks. Our young waiter was most obliging with this and couldn't have been more helpful. I am autistic and the noise at times was a bit hard to deal with, at one point there was a dog barking for 10 minutes or so. Of course I understand this can be difficult to control, other than that we had an enjoyable meal, right next to the cosy fire :)

I treated 6 of my family to Christmas Dinner at the Nightingale....Worcester £79 each....First time ever going out for Christmas Dinner what a disappointment.....food was awful...starters was bland....we waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for our mains ...beef Wellington pastry was raw....veg....was scarse looks like they had run out....and the puddings were disgusting so upset....I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone ...

Me and my son recently popped in for food and were impressed with the overall experience. The food was well presented and delicious. My son had the lasagna followed by the chocolate brownie for dessert and I had the buttermilk chicken burger. The ambiance complemented the food, with its cozy and comfortable surroundings. We were served by Sam L who was attentive and polite throughout our visit - thank you and I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas 🎄

Sam L our waitress was outstanding, helpful, friendly and caring even though she was rushed off her feet in a very busy restaurant. Unfortunately the food was very disappointing and not up to the usual standard (we do visit often). The food was overcooked as if it had been standing for a while, missing items and unappetising appearance.

Food was great. The ambiance was lovely. Ciara our waitress was really polite and attentive. Would recommend. Allows dogs which is a bonus.

Had a lovely meal .Nadine was really nice and friendly. We had money off mains voucher and a gift card which was no trouble to use at all . I had the sea bass which was beautiful my husband had the steak sandwich followed by crème brûlée and fruit crumble. I would highly recommend and will definitely go back
