Excellent village pub. After moving to the area we have been made extremely welcome in the pub. Being under new management since September, Matt and his staff always accommodate our requirements. Provided us with takeaway food when we have asked for. Breakfast and Sunday roasts are great value for money. Great events and Great friendly county pub. Support our local pub trade.. its not an easy game to be in!

Nice range of real ale. 10 of us popped in. Served us with a great platter of sarnies. We were all amazed at the chips. Big, thick and flourey. Great service. We will be back.

The Crown laid on a buffet after the christening of my god daughter, nothing was too much trouble everyone was catered for.

Burgers are sublime, had the chilli burger and was amazing. Kids loved it and reasonably priced.

Visited for lunch with friends on the weekend. This is a cracking pub. A warm and friendly welcome, great selection of beer and lovely, fairly priced food. Will certainly return when next in the area. Thanks for looking after us. Long live national pie week!

An amazing pub, great food that you wouldn’t expect from a local pub. We were staying at a nearby farm and used the pub daily! Amazing place!

On arrival we were made very welcome and the service was excellent all evening. As it was Valentines Night our table had been beautifully decorated and our meal was excellent. Many thanks to Amy, the lady, who had produced such a lovely meal. We shall definitely be returning very soon.

We had one of our best ever Valentine's day experiences at the Crown at Peopleton! My husband and I were made to feel very special and welcome by the attentive team. Many thanks go to Chef Amy for her delicious food! We were seated by a crackling log fire in the beautiful and tastefully decorated traditional thatched pub. I enjoyed butterflied prawns in cajun mayonnaise, steak cooked to perfection and crisp and fluffy chips for mains followed by profiteroles in white chocolate sauce. My husband devoured halloumi fries, homemade lasagna and lemon tart to finish. It was all excellent value for money and we will be returning! Our table was decorated in Valentine's theme heart confetti, with red roses and love hearts sweets as favours. All lovely, fun attention to detail that made our Valentine's day very romantic and memorable. Thank you so much! Hannah and Edwin

Had a wonderful Sunday lunch last Sunday in the Crown. Food was delicious and great value for money. We had a very warm welcome from the owner. I would highly recommend a visit.

Looked after the dietary requirements excellently with GF Yorkshire pudding, gravy and bread! Great veg option. Generous portions and a calm relaxed family atmosphere. Winner.

Went there today for a wake, really friendly staff well run & very covid aware, thoroughly recommend it, thank you all.

Lockdown drinks so didn't see inside which is why only 4 stars, but great garden with very friendly service 👍👍👍👍

Great little local pub which was walking distance from our camp site (bowbrook). Plenty of space outside for a warm afternoon pint. Local ale and cider available. Their food menu was shorter due to covid restrictions, but we went for a burger and it was beautifully cooked. Staff was very welcoming and kind

Has changed hands fairly recently and is amazing. Equine friendly, amazing food/drinks and very good quality as well. Can't go wrong.

Nice little find after exploring the nearby Confetti and Flower Fields. Called ahead and the staff were wonderful by booking us an outside table for the kids to run around in the spacious beer garden. 3 x burgers, a baguette, 3 kids meals and copious side orders as well as numerous rounds of drinks all for under £80. Tremendous value. Food was amazing and the staff well and truly bent over backwards to help us out (despite one of them suffering from horrendous toothache at the time of our visit!) will definitely go out of our way for a visit here again. Social distancing one way system and signage in place and well thought out.

Great burgers and lovely temporary menu, fab team working today and a fantastic place to settle after visiting the confetti fields. Thanks so much for your wonderful hospitality, we will be back!

Worst food I have ever had in a pub. Depressing atmosphere. Shame used to be brilliant.

Took the horse- they were very accommodating and we even left some rose fertiliser!!

Stopped by chance on a wet Wednesday evening and loved it. These guys keep their beer very well and both the London Pride and Tribute were great. Friendly and fun guy behind the bar. It was too wet for us but the beer garden looked great!

Friendly staff, food is to die for!

Disappointed that once we were seated there was only the option to select a (Mother's Day menu) 3 course meal. One of our party only had a main but had to pay £22 for all 3 courses. I need to point out that this is our 2nd time here, and the first time we would have scored this place 5/5. However, unfortunately the 2nd visit wasn't quite as good. My meals were perfect (scotch egg and sirloin beef) but a few of the others were not quite on the mark. The main issue being the pork being quite tough - not all, strangely... Some slices of pork were succulent, but mostly they were tough. The starters (other than mine) were ok, but were served with plain sliced bread.... Not really what you want with prawn cocktail. Crusty bread would have been better

Great country pub. Food is always fresh and staff is very attentive. Big car park available.

Lovely lunchtime meal. Visited the pub after seeing beautiful looking dishes on Facebook. It was a fair distance for us but well worth the time taken as the food was absolutely spot on. Both had the scotch egg starter, egg cooked to perfection and the homemade piccalilli was just gorgeous. Husband had the pork belly with mustard mash, beautifully cooked and lovely gravy, served with a dish of fresh seasonal veg. I had the sirloin steak, cooked exactly as I like it and vine tomatoes and mushrooms really lovely accompaniment. Finished off with ice cream for hubby, lemon tart with raspberry compote for me... So refreshing. Nice beer for hubby, very enjoyable fizz for me. All of this served by Craig who has the perfect mix of friendly and welcoming, without being intrusive. All in all a really lovely meal, in a lovely setting. We will definitely return.

Love the character and ambience of the place. Food was pretty good too although very limited for veggies. Wine choice was very limited so stuck with the beer.

Our 4th visit to meet friends from Devon, Staffordshire and Leicestershire. We love it! Very welcoming staff and excellent food. We're already planning our next visit in September.

I loved this place. The food was great, there is a small but great selection of ales and the service was absolutely phenomenal. Literally nothing was too much trouble for them and with 7 picky adults and a baby our requirements were extensive. We all sat in the large green garden but inside was also really nice and bright and spacious. We will definitely be going back!

You know how you look forward to a lovely roast dinner in an old country pub with roaring fire ..well sadly you won't get it here.The roast pork was cold and rubbery ,sliced too thick and mostly riddled with fat (I took it home for my dog ),together with the under crisped ,pale roast potatoes ,old overcooked tasteless leeks ,this dinner failed to impress nor meet anyone's reasonable expectation.Such a shame as I have eaten here before midweek and had lovely home cooked food and hence had recommended food here to others...oh and no roaring fire ! The waitress/barmaids had impeccable customer service ..they are your asset .I explained to them that the meat was unsatisfactory and to tell the chef which they agreed .No explanation later and still given a full bill to pay !I cannot reccomend this pub for a sunday lunch therefore.

1st visit for us (5.11.16) A typically local village pub with a good selection of light and dark ales. Great little area for dining and wow...amazing food. Beautifully presented and full of flavour. Friendly waitress service too. Typically £20 a head for 2 courses. Certainly a place I'll be revisiting...

After seeing excellent written threeu times, we went for Sunday lunch and were dissapointed. My starter of goat's cheese was excellent. Our main course was pork, which had been kept too long under a hot lamp, and was dry. My friends profiteriles were filled with, we think, aerosol cream. Perhaps another visit, mid-week is called for
