Not sure who vets there staff here but absolute terrible staff who decided them selves who is allowed in and who’s not. I took my friend in to watch the football and because he didn’t drink he wasn’t allowed in. Complete joke and a terrible atmosphere they’ve created. I wouldn’t go in the even if I was an alcoholic.

Be careful when booking online, there are 5 Swans in Bromsgrove and we booked the wrong one for Sunday carvery (a common mistake). The understanding staff made room for us in the bar and we ate. The carvery is very good with a large selection of veg that isn't over cooked. You get a tray for your plate, so your gravy doesn't end up everywhere. The ales are kept well. Not our 1st and not our last visit.

Absolutely amazing food and great pub, staff are amazing and polite would definitely be back again, only thing I could fault was the fact the dog friendly aspect is bar only and no where on their website or google said it was only the bar, if they could amend that because if we weren’t able to be reseated in the bar we’d probably have had to leave. The website states all aspect of the pub cater for 2-4 legged friends

Amazing food for my 30th birthday! Everyone really enjoyed the carvery and everyone who has mains including myself were shocked how quick the food came out, as well as the generous portions! A few on our table had starters which were absolutely lovely! The service was second to none, I couldn’t have asked for better service. Thank you so much to all the staff at the Swan for making a very special occasion that little bit more special! Would definitely recommend this amazing establishment to anyone, thank you all again!

Sat in the bar for a carvery with family and the dogs. The staff were friendly. The carvery here is delicious. Everything always tastes fresh and home made. The meat is cooked perfectly and the cauliflower cheese is amazing. Thanks, we will return again.

Very acceptable Mother's Day carvery, 2 courses £19.95. Extremely popular, place was heaving and that was at 5.30pm. We were a party of 9 and were well looked after by very hard working staff. Would recommend on any day, tbh.

My first experience and review was based on a quiet lunch time meal for two and was rated five stars. The last two visits for evening meals for six adults have been appalling. The first our table for six o'clock would not be ready until at least 6:30 as the previous guests had left the table to visit the outside bar and for their children to play! We ate in the bar area despite there being other table laid and set up for the next day! The choice was limited and the carvery was cold. We were also reminded that service to the bar stopped at seven despite waiting til 6:35 for our meal to be served so I guess a sweet was out of the question. Tonight our final attempt to enjoy a meal here was a disaster. Our booking was for four o'clock to avoid the busy evening. Arrived promptly and shown to our table and curtly reminded that we could stay for up to two hours as there were other bookings. Again not everything on the menu was available, and we waited over 10minutes for a drink order and about 40 minutes for the main course and carvery which was served by staff that appeared cross or ill tempered and bothered by tiresome customers. It seems that in summer the temptation to increase profits outweighs the care for customers. Plenty of staff but none seemed to have any energy or will to serve table. Get the bookings in shove out some average food and listen to the till roll ring. No way to serve the community that supports the establishment throughout the quieter months.

Went to the swan for a birthday meal and had to wait 40 minutes for our meals to be served with no apologies from staff or reason for the long wait time. While waiting for our food a couple on the table next to us were waiting for their bill and had asked a waitress for it twice they were met with a very rude server telling them that it was because the kitchen was busy (server with the red hair was awful and should honestly not be working in this industry if she can't fix her grumpy face, we felt like an inconvenience to her) when we finally got our food and carvery we were given a very char grilled (burnt) stake and the beef from the carvery left me with more fat and unchewable meat than actual beef, not to mention the onion that was sat in oil and the gravy that was salty enough to kill a slug. This is the second time we have tried the swan and once again we're left disappointed and will definitely not be making the same mistake of going there for dinner again we would have been better driving the extra 10 minutes up the road for a McDonald's.

Sunday Carvery - I could not be more impressed! Every member of staff was smiling, warm, helpful and so attentive to my GF needs. The chef/carver clearly cared about allergies/intolerances and even offered to use a new/clean knife to carve my meat. The food was soooooo tasty and the range of vegetables was huge....just wow! Wow! Wow!

First time visit, staff found a table for us very quickly, plenty of space, decor very nice, carvery excellent, and the price very good. Pleased we found this place.

We were a party of 9 celebrating a birthday today. All enjoyed a carvery then were told we had 10 minutes to leave the table! We hadn't had desserts or coffee. I appreciate the fact other people book for a later time, but I really think a large party should be given more table time. This spoilt our meal and time together.

The food was really nice, however the service was awful. We had to wait so long for our drinks to arrive we had to go and get them ourselves. The staff are so busy chatting with each other than serving the customers.

We usually like the Swan. But today went with the family table of 8 and very disappointed. The carvery was barely warm. The meat to the veg was not like it is usually. I had to leave alot of mine. Sorry. We have just tryed this place again but never again. Waitress looked like she didn't want to be there. Almost all 3 meals was left. She never asked if all was OK. Or did we want diserts. Just a load of miserable staff. The problem is they are all young staff. Could be good with better training. No welcome at all. Never again. You need to pull your socks up

Lovely place. This was the first time I'd been, we had a birthday celebration with a fairly large group of 20 of us. We had a mix of carvery and off the menu. Both were delicious. The menu food came out promptly so they weren't waiting whilst the carvery people were sorted. The staff were brilliant and kept checking for drinks. And everything was so well organised to clear away and get puddings out. Would absolutely recommend having a meal here

We arrived at 1pm for a carvery lunch. I had a slice of ham and one of turkey. Both perfectly cooked and of generous proportions. The self serve vegetables were, in part ,disappointing. The hordes of pensioners who had arrived earlier had plundered the offerings like a flock of vultures muscling in on a lion kill on the Serengeti. Three sad looking carrot slices stared miserably up at me, I apologised to them for not selecting them, the remains of the cauliflower cheese encrusted the rim of the near empty bowl like a deserted coral atoll in the Pacific and the dauphinoise potatoes were reduced to a homogeneous mush in the bottom of the pot. That said, the dining experience was actually OK, the staff were pleasant and helpful and I will come again.

There’s a reason why this restaurant is booked out constantly. What a fantastic visit. Great hospitality and wonderful food. My mum had booked the wrong Swan and on a Sunday they had no tables available (not surprising may I add) Our waitress, Meg F did everything she could and completely went out her way to ensure we could dine in their establishment. A massive thank you to her, as it was our mess up not theirs. We will definitely return and will ensure we book the correct Swan next time!

Only 10 minutes of the M5, Very pleasant country pub. Food is excellent, recommend the carvery. It was fairly busy when I called even at midweek ,but they can cater for passing trade, however i would advise booking. Staff are extremely pleasant. I will be calling again when in the area.

We went for a family meal at 5.30 on a busy Sunday evening and even our 7 yr old grand daughter remarked how quickly we were served! Carvery as usual was excellent though veggies could be a bit hotter- please! Gf choices were no problem at all.

Very busy establishment, obviously very popular. Advise to book to avoid disappointment. Carvery is excellent with a good choice of meats & vegetables. All prepared and cooked to a high standard. Good friendly service. All in all a good experience, would definitely recommend.

Went with my daughter for a Mother’s Day thing rude woman as we went in put in bar no other choice golf cup tv and overloud music awful carvery dry beef and turkey and mushy Veg no salt on table went to get some woman said as I went to get some I’ll bring some through in a really rude way won’t be going again

Very popular location, food was typical carvery fare, and plenty of choice. Only 1 pass of the vegetables allowed, which encourages you to pile up your plate. Slick operation and no empty tables at 2.30pm on a Sunday.

Came here yesterday for my sisters 6 month alcohol free celebration. It went really well, the carvery which we all had was lovely, I even got two Yorkshires on request, and the meat was lovely and nice portions. I ordered a lemon meringue for desert, but it sadly was no good, so I sent it back, and got informed by the staff they had thrown the rest away for good measure after doing a taste test on the rest of the meringue, which made me feel very happy with the result and having sent it back. It was then confirmed to me they had taken it off the bill, but at the end of the meal, when receiving the bill, the meringue was still on the bill, so I had to ask for it to be removed which was strange as the lady had intentionally come up to me about half hour prior to inform me it had been removed. All in all, lovely meal, brilliant staff. Thanks again girls.

We have known the owners for many years and this is there new venture. We took friends Tuesday 30th Jan for lunch who throughly enjoyed it. The carvery is top notch, l had maggots chips and mushy pies the maggots came from Much Wenlock absolutely excellent, they have a good variety of beer wines and spirits, and unlike a lot of pubs today at reasonable prices. This pub is in safe hands👍

So I've just moved to the area and this is one of my locals. I was googling places that had a Carvary that you walk up to and this one seemed very well reviewed!! I phoned up and asked if they had space for two people in half an hour and the girl on the phone was absolutely delightful and said that she would get us in!! On arrival we were taken to our seats by another lovely female waitress that was very happy and smiley and wanted us to have a lovely experience. Every time i interacted with any of the staff I was always blown away with how lovely they were. You don't get this in a lot of places!! The carvary itself was absolutely amazing, even though we dined quite late on a Sunday (And from talking to other people I understand that this is not the best time to go! ) But actually it was amazing! Yes, the sauces looked slightly congealed and abused by people....but that's fine (and thats probably humans like myself getting excited haha) as I say they have probably been exceedingly busy all Sunday!!! I have absolutely no negatives for my visit to The Swan Inn, having talked about it post many people have exactly the same experience! The drinks variety was ample and it was a lovely setting. Whilst I was dining, there were various birthday celebrations happening in the circular booth tables, They did look really lovely! I will most definitely be back and I'm very happy that there is a local pub of this Calibre down the road!! Shout out to all the lovely waitresses, wished id remembered your names but you were all ace! Oh yeah, the Dessert menu is flipping great here!!! Red velvet Cheesecake wahhhhhh

Great Carvery superb value for money

Excellent food and service at a sennsible price. It has a very good 'welcoming' atmosphere, also a nice log burner in the bar area. It is best to book, though, as very popular.

If I've put 5 star reviews for food, service and atmosphere, what more can l say except Go! You will not be disappointed and will want to go again l'm sure.

Busy place couldn't book before hand so ended up in the bar, which actually was very pleasant . Had the carvery which don't normal have but they said the wait was over 25 mins for the other meals but my friend wanted the carvery so making things easier j went for it as well and very pleased with it. julian was a very pleasant bartender and very helpful and friendly. In fact everyone was very pleasant. Which makes a chance to a lot of places now days. Well done team.

The service was efficient & the staff friendly. We all opted for the carvery. It's good that you get a choice of a small carvery plate, for those with a smaller appetite. (Not that any of us chose it!) However, a bit disappointing to see that the vegetarian carvery was just the option to have the carvery vegetables & includes no meat alternative. Following the waitress's recommendation, the vegetarian in our party opted for the "vegetable roast" (similar to a nut roast but with mushrooms & rice) off the main menu & chose the carvery veg as their sides. The veggie roast was tasty enough but was disappointing in size as it consisted of only one small slice. It does seem unfair that (unless you just want a plate of veg) the vegetarian option ends up costing more ££'s than the meat carvery -where you have a selection of 3 meats (or 2 on the day we went, as they'd run out of one) A suggestion: Maybe consider introducing a vegetarian carvery with a meat alternative, that costs the same as the meat carvery? The cauliflower cheese & potato dauphinois were lovely & hopefully there will be some sprouts on our return visit 😁
