The Twisted Spoon in Wychavon

Went for afternoon tea with my daughter and friend as part of birthday celebrations. The positive; Lovely assortment of teas which when offered a refill we could change flavours. Delicious quiche. Sandwich bread nice (although fillings were a little basic and 4 small quarters only) Friendly waiter. Nice meringue and blondie The Negatives The scones. They were dreadful. Had obviously been in the freezer, reheated leaving them dry, virtually like a biscuit. They were also tiny and honestly either one bigger one, or two of that size would be better. Could have done with a bit more cream and the jam tasted like Tesco basic rather than locally made. The salted caramel cheesecake, none of us ate it as it was unpleasant. The panacotta was fine, but a weird choice for an afternoon tea, especially as there were several nice looking cakes on the counter. I would have said something as we left, but as we had to prepay there was absolutely nobody around to speak to on the way out. All in all felt a bit disappointed. It definitely looked nicer than it tasted as you can see from the pics

Afternoon tea 3pm on a Saturday. Great experience food was excellent and a vast array of tea which was free refill within the £40 cos of afternoon tea for two people Sandwiches were delicious and nice and fresh and a large selection of cakes. My initial thoughts were that I would have liked more sandwiches and a bit less cake as overall was very sweet but I’ve since learned that this is typical of any afternoon tea. We were really looked after and the staff there are all lovely. Very tempted by the amazing selection of cakes on the counter as you walk in but we were so full after our afternoon tea that sadly we didn’t indulge this time. Only drawback is that it’s a bit far out of the way and on a country road so it feels longer than it probably is shame it isn’t a tad closer as we would make it a regular go to place. Will absolutely be going back and try something different. It’s the second time we have been now and would highly recommend it if you are thinking of giving it a try. 10/10 from me was really made to feel welcome so thanks to everyone who worked there very well done.

Have just been to the twisted spoon for brunch as a family of four with two children and it was fantastic! Great service, delicious food and very reasonably priced. We even came away with some cakes for later and was able to buy some of the yummy sausages!

Quirky place with a great menu. Home made quiche and the Worcestershire sausages were delicious

Delightful place. Good service, good food, reasonable prices. Excellent Sunday lunch of the usual menu or an excellent sunday roast. We took small roasts, which were very generous and plenty for us oldies (70+). Having just moved into the village, we feel very fortunate to have this place and The Oak (in the same building) as our local and look forward to many future visits. The only bad point is that quite often there are smokers or vapers just outside the front (and only) door. It really is unpleasant to have to go through their clouds of fumes when entering or leaving. Come on, management, couldn't you banish them to the car park? Note added Oct 24: continues to be a delightful place for a drink or a meal ... except for the very unpleasant experience of walking through clouds of tobacco smoke or vape by the only entrance/exit.

Visited The Twisted Spoon with friends who live in the area. We just had teas and coffees but nice atmosphere to have a catch up.

A fabulous find! We had a full English breakfast and plenty of tea & coffee. Pleasant, clean and nothing too much trouble. Would highly recommend.

Apparently white toast isn’t a thing anymore! So if you’re a multigrain fan fill your boots. Was looking forward to a nice full English after a stroll up with the dog. Coffee wasn’t bad but will not be returning. I find it hard to believe that you cannot choose a bread anymore, even though they have signs about allergens and intolerances.

The afternoon tea is amazing all the ones I have been too the deserts look lush but are posh and gross these were perfect and a lovely place too thank you

Called here for my father in laws 80th. Although we had 10 people in the party, the staff didn't let us down. Food was lovely and hot, and everyone's came at the same time

Lovely food well made and presented I was part of a large group and we had pre ordered our food selection that was served efficiently and correctly. Very tasty and well presented. All the staff where very pleasant with smiling faces. Thoroughly enjoyed the food and our time at the twisted spoon.

Think they need to change the chefs once they loose interest and pride .Thats It ..job done … i have been coming here for some time … Today was hell chips were cold and soggy … My friend was sick later this day from fish … Such a shame as the staff run a tight good ship .. Friendly hard working and professional … Sadly will not return until they find good quality chefs that enjoy the job and take pride … And of course know how to cook ….

Went today for early lunch. Ordered kipper fillets. More fatty and oily than they should be...tasted like they had been fried🤢 and tasted slightly stale (or had been stored in freezer too long) but was hungry so ate them. My friend had to send her food back (gammon, egg and chips) as chips were cold for gods sake! Waitress was briliant and so professional. Sadly my friend still ended up leaving most her food as gammon was tasteless and dry. Waitress bless her took my friends meal off bill and we were very grateful for hers and other waitresses friendliness and efficiency and in no way blame them. Sadly my tummy soon felt really bad afterwards and was sick and bought kippers up and still feel nauseous as I write this review. We will definitely not be returning and have serious doubts as to hygience/cooking/food storage standards in the kitchen and will be checking this out.

One of our favourite cafes, never had a bad breakfast the food is always promt and very tasty! Best sausages ever and pancakes too!

Well where to start drink orange and lemonade was coloured water no orange juice fish and chips fish was clearly shop brought chips had never seen beef dripping dry even the vinegar couldn't bring them back to life so disappointed

Sadly quite slow to take our order. We were going to order food but just had drinks because it took a while to take our order.

Lovely food. Very friendly staff. Good atmosphere with conversation between the tables, maybe local guests?

Breakfast served late, so I chose that - the sausage was burnt/black, the bacon had been sitting around for ages and was like shoe leather, the toast was even burnt and the waitress could not care less. Very poor indeed. I am a respectable person, so I paid the full price regardless but I will never return again.

A wonderful place to have lunch. Friendly and polite staff, great food that is reasonably priced. Good selection of gluten and dairy free options. Every plate we saw come put of the kitchen looked fantastic. Will definitely return and highly recommended. The afternoon Teas look amazing.

I held a Baby Shower at the Twisted Spoon recently. The food and service was perfect. Couldn't of been happier.

Seems like a very popular cafe. Cream tea looks great and there is an option for children. Food is good quality. It's a fair price. Cakes are good. High chairs avaiable. Can have food from the cafe in the pub area as well. Loads of parking available.

Very disappointed. Not enough staff , not attentive at all. Ordered 2 very pricey iced coffees & Breakfast , food came before drinks & missing a hash brown. I did tell a member of staff but I didn’t end up getting it! The drinks took ages I had to remind them we ordered them, we had nearly finished our food by the time they came.. they were small & average for £5.50 for each iced coffee! The food is always great quality but definitely seen a decline in service! We must of waited for at least 20 mins till I had to actually get up and pay the bill at the bar. They left us sat there with the dirty plates on the table for ages.

Afternoon tea to celebrate with friends, the food is fantastic and great service, it is a great place and well worth a visit for afternoon teas or just a snack and a coffee.

This is a great place to come to for a classic English breakfast. They also do great cake and afternoon teas. Highly recommend, but worth booking as it is popular.

After a night in our camper in your car park (thank you), what an amazing way to start the day with a full English breakfast with coffee at the Twisted Spoon 🥰 Food was lovely, service was amazing. Great place.

The staff on this sunday 17th are a credit to this establishment. Although we didn’t book, the staff were incredibly helpful friendly and attentive. They managed to squeeze us in and took care of us the entire time. It really made my mum and aunts day so I can’t thank you all enough. Food was perfect and the scones are heavenly! We will be back!!

Been many times and always superb breakfast and real tea in a tea pot with strainer. Always v good friendly service.

This was my first visit, I would advise booking although one or two tables were free during my visit. The team gave a great welcome and information regarding orders. Table service. The food was excellent, I had a triple chicken sandwich, ( it was supposed to come with guacamole however they had run out, no great shakes)!!! I also had a turmeric latte, supposed to heal from the inside out, we shall see, it was very nice though. I had a large piece of victoria sponge for dessert alongside another coffee, although I think the waiting staff had forgotten that I had ordered another drink so I had to go and remind them, minor point.

Can get very busy especially Saturday and Sunday mornings

Lovely little cafe, fantastic breakfast. I had Kippers and coffee which was great as were the breakfasts of the rest of the party. Nice relaxed feel, the staff were helpful and fun. Splendid.

I walk in as a solo to what is clearly a very busy breakfast service and they offer me a coffee table to eat off if I want it after. The lady behind the bar is consulted by a waitress and then I confirm myself that I am to eat at a coffee table - all that they had. No tables available or with enough time. I sit at the coffee table, then being happy to take my money. A couple + baby (not eating) walk in, same discussion about tables… need it back by 1pm - 2 hours later. They said sorry didn’t know but I watched them ask the very same women. Awful that they’d treat a customer like that and try to make me feel grateful for it too!

Very good food and good service

They have got it right, serve breakfasts as well and we had a Sunday lunch there. All superbly cooked and served. Best to book as you can imagine is very popular.

Lovely food but it was quite cold near the patio door - blankets definitely required.

We were staying nearby and ordered a whole cake to take home for a birthday. Everybody was very accommodating despite us saying we'd collect the cake in the evening, then changing to collecting in the morning... The cake was beautiful, tasted amazing and, very importantly to me, was not overly sweet. We chose white chocolate and raspberry, but there are lots of other flavours I hope to try in future in we get a chance!

Just popped in for a coffee and cake in my parter's case and a glass of wine for me. The cake is on your right hand side as you come through the door. Stood there looking hopeful for too long so made our way to the bar where there was lots of chat and gigglying between a few people and bar staff. Had to be assertive to get what we wanted. The cake looked good and had a good report from my partner. Not the best experience on a Thursday afternoon in October.

On line booking!!!! Arrived at the twisted spoon after booking on line for our afternoon tea to be told we haven't got a booking because we "BOOKED" online and haven't "PAID" for it!!! As for the STAFF "Young girls" attitude and no flexibility to DO an afternoon Tea for 2 people when you're not over busy is shocking!!! It seems to me that making a few sandwiches is "ABOVE THEM" The difference is black and white to our last visit 2 years ago!!! TWISTED SPOON you definitely need to sort your "booking" out in this DIGITAL WORLD!! We definitely won't return and have told friends & family about our experience.

I meet friends there regularly but in the Oak,part not the Twisted Spoon. We are always pleased with the service and the food.

Friendly staff once you had their attention. We arrived at 9.30 so only one other table eating but having waited 7 minutes we went to the counter to place our order. We were advised that they had stopped serving white bread, whaaat! how strange, we only like white bread for toast. The bacon was overcooked and hard, broke into pieces when trying to cut it, also mentioned to us by other family members. The bacon offering unfortunately spoils the breakfast which otherwise is a decent offering.

Stopped off for lunch by chance on a journey. We both had a baguette and chunky chips (prawn and fish finger) . Food was brilliant and staff were friendly. Plenty of choice, other tables had afternoon teas that looked amazing. Highly Recommended!

Quality of food not to usual standard afternoon tea should look and appeal unfortunately they left the crusts on not served in an attractive manner. The Bread was of economy standard. (cheap ) Will not go back for afternoon tea

This is such a lovely destinations for coffee/brunch or lunch. The surroundings are idyllic and the staff pleasant. However, the food is really below par. Whilst the cakes look nice, the Victoria sponge was dry and dense. The chips seemed as if they were frozen and the bacon fatty. I ended up leaving most of it. Not sure if it was an off day or maybe I expected too much.

An excellent little venue. Best to book, but they fitted my wife and i in. And the service was excellent. Well recommended.

Just got in, in time for the breakfast (1.55pm and stopped at 2). Really enjoyed it- included bottomless tea or coffee. High quality, perfectly cooked poached eggs. Very friendly staff. The only thing I would change is that I’d rather have back bacon than streaky.

Been a long time, but very pleased to return. A great breakfast with unlimited tea 🍵 or coffee ☕. We will be returning.

Booked a table. It was our first time there and was welcomed with a friendly smile. Even though they were very busy service was excellent. Good selection on menu. The food was very fresh and apertizing. Would definitely Recommend! We will be going back again soon.

The place is friendly, make a good coffee and tea, sadly the chef I’ve poached all the eggs (4) portions were good and the cakes looked good. Service was fast and efficient.

Full English with a coffee. Easily done friendly staff and only downside was for me the back. Was a tad too crispy. I don't do food photos though 🤣🤣

Stopped off for breakfast, lovely choice of teas and cakes. Breakfast menu is very tasty, really enjoyed salmon and poached egg on toast. Service is always great.

We enjoyed a fabulous Valentine's Afternoon Tea. It was lovely to have slider buns with more interesting fillings rather than the usual finger sandwiches of ham, egg and cheese. The brie and bacon filo parcel was a delicious bonus! The mini desserts were just right and the warm scones with jam and cream were perfect. We will definitely be coming back soon.

Has a great brunch here with friends today. The teaspoon sized breakfast each followed by a share of the breakfast pancakes will see us very easily thrift the day. Helpful and friendly service as ever. We'll have to go back to try the wonderful array of homemade cakes! Sent back for coffee and cake. An excellent macchiato and very tasty cakes. The place was buzzing and as popular as ever.
