Such a pretty location, and today was beautiful with plenty of people around. The gift and coffee shop was doing a great trade. They have nice coffee and cake along with canal based gifts. Very friendly owner. The locks here look like hard work as there’s so many of them in a row. A great little place to visit

Absolutely lovely place. "Higher" Pub ambiance, high quality Food and attentive and friendly staff. Great selection of mains and sides. Staff able to tend to tables with the expected service, be it "high class" with champagne or just a fish n chips stopover. We may have had issues getting a table if we hadn't reserved.

Everything we had was really tasty. We ordered about 4 starter plates to begin and then after we had eaten them we ordered 2 main course plates and 2 sides. This was a perfect amount of food for 2 and was reasonably priced for the quality. We particularly liked the cod croquettes, the wood fired sea bass and beef in Chianti. Serivce was very good and there were some nice touches - complimentary lemoncillo at the end and they allowed us to buy one glass of Chianti despite the menu stating you could only buy it by the bottle.

Decided on our wY home to pop into this place for Sunday lunch. What finally arrived in front of me I was shocked for £17 I could have cooked better than this for our bill of over £40. Dried up piece of chicken, over cooked roast potatoes, 1 large brown parsnip, brown over cooked cauliflower cheese and a few carrots, 1 pieve of brocoli and a slice of savoy cabbage. This was poor and basically was fit for the bin. If you're going to offer a cooked Sunday roast all day at least make it edible and look appetising. I Won't be going back here this was very poor food today and Jamie Oliver would give you a very poor rating if you dished that kind of meal up for him.

The Lancia Montecarlo Consortium met here for a lunch and 45 of us were treated to great service and great food. Our visit was prearranged with Charlie (a member of staff) who made sure that everything was up to the standard that she had promised. All our members have been very complimentary. Thank you so much.

Writing this review on the way having just left as felt compelled to share and provide feedback on a very poor Sunday lunch. The experience was poor from outset, seated at the little table by the door to the restaurant, Could barely get in to the pew seat and I’m only little, but cosy enough I suppose once you manage to get in. Waited a long time to order, tried to get the attention of the young lad serving the table behind us and politely called out excuse me twice but got ignored. We went up to the bar to order and they sent someone over straight away. Only at this point did we discover the pork had ran out which was what my partner wanted to order and no cauliflower cheese which we also wanted. Ordered two beef roasts, and drinks. The food came quite quickly to be fair however we still hadn’t got our drinks when our food arrived. Long delay after requesting condiments until we received them, half way in to the meal and this included the salt and pepper. You got to have salt with beef! The main problem was the meal itself. Have no problem paying £22 for a beef roast if it is a good roast however the portion was so poor we left feeling quite frankly ripped off and hungry! The meal consisted of 4 small roast potatoes (so 2 total potatoes cut in half), 2 long pieces of carrot, Yorkshire pud (which credit where it is due was large and nice - couldn’t fault that) , a dash of gravy and ‘seasonal veg’ consisting of peas with a few small pieces of leek. This is not seasonal and is just the cheap option. What happened to proper veg!? Good old broccoli, cauliflower cabbage and a decent proper portion of carrots!? My meal was very dry but I did not want to ask for any more gravy as it had took 3 attempts to get a working salt mill to the table which the waitress told me was working and demonstrated this by pouring a very tiny amount of salt in to her hand. I had tried this moments before and it hadn’t worked. Overall we spent just shy of £50 for a very poor Sunday lunch and sadly won’t be coming back. It’s such a shame as we used to love it here but this was our first visit in quite a long time and we were so disappointed. 10% service charge is now added on to all tables as well not just tables over 6.

Just had a lovely meal at the Navigation inn. The food was delicious, especially the cauliflower cheese, you get your money’s worth, fantastic service, the staff are happy and serve with a smile. I would definitely recommend this pub for food and I’ll be back very soon!

I will start by saying that do not normally eat in the pubs attached to premier inns, the food is nearly always dry and horrible but tonight, well, tonight, it was completely different. Firstly the staff on the floor all very pleasant and helpful , well done to you all. Secondly, to the kitchen staff. The food was perfectly cooked and presented. I can say it was the best mixed grill I have ever had In a pub attached to a hotel. Dan, Craig and Tom, really well done lads. You did the chain proud this evening. I had plans for visiting Asian restaurants this week but you will probably see me again in Thyme before Friday. Well done to all the staff. Ps, the wins were also great. Thanks for a great meal.
