Tom O' The Wood in Warwick

Stopped off for a late evening meal. Food excellent despite the late hour. Service spot on. Highly recommend the beef bourguignon pie!

Visited on a frosty Friday night in early January (which hopefully explains why it wasn't busy) - four of us in our family group all had a starter and a main course. Can't fault the food at all. We had four different starters and three different mains ( two had the same main) - all of the food was piping hot and really tasty. Service was great too. Well worth returning to try other dishes.

Our first time to this pub and probably our last. We were a party of 7 and visited on a Wednesday evening just before Xmas expecting it to be very busy. It turned out to be very quiet with only about 4 tables occupied. The serving staff were all young but polite and helpful, however I suspect there was a problem with the kitchen staff. One of our meals was wrong (although no issue with getting it changed) and another came out quite a while after the rest. The food was ok but nothing special. We ordered desserts but then had to wait 45 minutes for them. The serving staff kept apologising but didn’t offer any explanation although they appeared to quite embarrassed and stressed which seemed odd considering how quiet the place was. Such a shame because this looks to be a really lovely village pub.

We've had many meals at this lovely old pub and it never disappoints. We took two friends with us who had never eaten here before and said that it was the best pub meal they had eaten in a long time. The quality of the food and portion size is excellent and best value around. Some of the starters are very unusual and although we're not vegetarians some of those we have tried have been really enjoyable. They cater extremely well for dietary requirements and as I have to have a gluten and lactose free meal I am never stuck for choice. The staff are excellent, very friendly and food is served promptly. Dogs are welcome in the conservatory, toilets are spotlessly clean and well maintained. I would definitely recommend this pub.

Food was excellent, service was slow and not attentive, decided against deserts and coffee due to the amount of time we were left waiting to order, very young waiting team that didn’t really seem interested, shame as such a lovely setting

Proper country pub with great food. We shared the camembert with pine nuts and pesto with bread which was excellent. We both had the burgers which were decent and the kids menus we a hit, excellent chips! No space for pudding but we all left happy. Nice selection of wine by the glass.

Fabulous Sunday lunch yesterday- the baked Camembert to start was scrummy as was the Roast Beef and beautiful Yorkshire pudding and trimmings. Will definitely be back

We've been visiting this great country pub for a number of years now and it never disappoints. Had lunch today - french onion soup which was delicious and the fish finger sandwich. Very welcoming,dog friendly pub. Thanks for the dog biscuits!

Great night attending a charity event and raised 1000’s for Myton Hospice. Great cause and fabulous host Charlie and Chris and well done to all the volunteers who took over. Well done. One of the best if not the best pub around.

The Lancia Montecarlo Consortium met here for a lunch and 45 of us were treated to great service and great food. Our visit was prearranged with Charlie (a member of staff) who made sure that everything was up to the standard that she had promised. All our members have been very complimentary. FABULOUS! Wow. What a great steak. Cooked perfectly (rare). Lovely chips, and plenty of yummy peppercorn sauce. If you’re looking for a great steak, in a lovely, authentic, country pub then look no further. Highly recommended!

Been here a few times in the past and the food has always been pretty good. Not been for a year or two, so thought we'd stop by for dinner as we were passing. The food on this occasion though was not as good as before. I had the wings and fries/chips. The wings tasted a bit oily, lukewarm and the sauce was just drizzled on top. You would have thought they would toss the chicken and sauce together in a bowl before dishing them up. The chips were lukewarm too and had started to go soft and limp like they had been steamed in their own heat before being served up. Really disappointed as usually it's a lot better here then what we experienced on our visit.

Sunday lunch was excellent, all our food was very well presented and we all thought it was delicious, couldn’t fault a single thing We bought our dog and all 4 of us were made very welcome!

We visited this pub after we did a canal walk in Warwick. The staff were very accommodating with us after we realised we had accidentally booked a table for the wrong date! They quickly arranged a table for us and fit us in, which was lovely of them. This pub is very dog friendly so if you have a dog it’s definitely worth a visit. They had a dog menu, which was very sweet. The food was classic good pub food. I’d go back here again.

Such a great place to eat. Booked online which was easy to do. Booked for four at 18:15 in the conservatory. Service was spot on. My partner knocked over a full glass of wine. In seconds the lady serving arrived with kitchen paper to mop it all up No stress at all. Our food arrived in good time, three of us ordered chicken in a basket and one ordered fish and chips. The portions were spot on and the food tasted so good “compliments to the chef “ We are only passing through on our narrowboat otherwise we would have all eaten there again. Thank you to all the staff for making our evening so enjoyable. We will definitely recommend here to our friends and fellow narrowboaters.

Of all the Sunday lunches we've had in the local area, this is the best yet. We appreciated being asked how we wanted the beef cooked, and it came as requested. The only disappointment was the homemade dessert offered with coffee was extremely dry.

My family and I came here last Sunday for Sunday Lunch and had the best time. I am gluten and dairy intolerant and staff spent time going through the menu with me. There was so much choice and I was able to have most things that were on the Sunday lunch menu. Staff just swapped and changed things around so I could have what I wanted. My family who don’t have any intolerances said it was the best Sunday lunch they have had in a long time. We will definitely be going back and it’s now a firm favourite in our family!

The atmosphere and the food was just perfect. We had the roast beef and it was amazing. A number of times we have been here and every time just gets better. I would travel to eat here all day long. The owners need commended for there food and service.

Always exceeding expectations! The atmosphere along with the staff, and the food is out of this world. The most succulent, juicy roast beef and the desserts are to die for! Not to mention the thoughtfulness of a doggy bag for the dog at home. One of our favorite venues in the country and we feel like it is our home from home.

I just passed here on my narrowboat, spending 2 weeks (3 weekends) moored nearby. In that time I had 3 evening meals and a Sunday lunch in there and it was all great. Super dog friendly, so much so it even has a dog menu... and very good food. Of what I had, steak and kidney pudding stood out as an absolute gem of a dish... proper suet pudding with plenty of kidney in the mix and a kind of deconstructed colcannon mash that was delicious. But it was all really good, highly recommended

The menu is excellent. Everything is beautifully cooked and prepared. It’s one of those places where you are spoiled for choice. I had fish and chips and my friend had a gorgeous salad. The service is great. We hadn’t been for a couple of years but the standard is always high.

Popped in this afternoon for a coffee and a hot chocolate whilst on a canal walk. Waited nearly 1/2 an hour. No drinks served. Went to bar to remind staff. Waited a while longer then left. How hard is it to serve two hot beverages on a quiet midweek afternoon?

My wife and I had an awesome Sunday lunch here yesterday. A lovely village pub that is SUPER dog-friendly, but also has a restaurant area that caters for non-doggy people too. The food was plentiful, and cooked to perfection. We opted for the beef Sunday dinner with additional cauliflower cheese (highly recommend!) and a yummy pud each. Great food, friendly service: would highly recommend!

Saturday night , went for Dinner around 7pm , having been given the menu outside to look at , we went in and was sent to the rear restaurant which was very empty for 7 pm 1 other table and one leaving .We ordered and waited for our mains to arrive , the sea bass was nice short on vegetables, not a big eater but the waitress should have offered sides or advisory on the menu. We ordered more dinks , the red wine never turned up , 20 mins later, so my wife went to the bar and it on the counter, the bar maid was on a still sitting down on the other side of the bar with no intention of getting up , it was ordered to go with the steak and kidney pudding 90% eaten by the time she fetched the wine. Not over happy we ordered dessert and asked for 2 spoons, the same waitress came back with her head down and quite abruptly put one spoon down, i said we asked for 2 spoons , the second one came and left her hand before it touched the table. We had our dessert and went to the bar and asked for the manageress . I said I was very unhappy at the service and the waitress, she said the wine would be took off the bill , ( no apologies at the time) after a discussion the waitress still sitting on the stool piped in and the manageress told her to be quiet, not what you would expect. The manageress quite easily accepted a 10%. Reduction and told us to to come back . As If WeWould …. This is why the restaurant was quiet for a Saturday night, boot or punch bowl want you to be a visitor.
