Poor service , missing food items , and forgot our desert We were just passing the Green Man on our way home so decided to call in for some lunch The place wasn't busy so expected the service to quick , looking at other reviews the comments seem to be repetitive for the issues we encountered Firstly there were missing items from the menu not on the plate when it was served t , trying to get someone to acknowledge and get the missing items just didn't happen as there only two staff and one was a young lad trying his best Stop insulting your clients with repetitive issues , this looks like a very common practice from your kitchen When we finally had the opportunity to tell the staff we had already finished our lunch , then to top it they forgot to bring out the desert after 25 minutes of waiting , and like mentioned it really wasn't busy Got a refund a left Sorry Green Man you service is shocking without sufficient apology Would not recommend and would not return , you live and learn about these places

Waiting time was far too long when not even 1/4 full. Meal missing item which again took way to long to rectify, food quality poor and of cook standard not chef standard. Fries and chips over cooked, had to complain when waiting 25 min for Childs desert that was ordered separate and even selecting as soon as possible for service. Staff polite interior nice, just poor quality food and waiting times.

For the second time in a week we were seriously overcharged when ordering food. After complaining we were given a £23 voucher on overpricing of at least £25 But our family occasion was ruined with the hassle

The pub was fairly quiet,we ordered our lunch, the dressing and avocado were missing , however you can’t fault Ben & Jess were really helpful, taking on board all comments. They rectified the missing items and gave us a complimentary drink or pudding of choiceThey are really trying to pull the place together, this will take time obviously. I’m sure once the new team is in place things will improve, they have a skeleton staff currently. It’s very easy to complain and moan, but they are trying and they are doing the best.

My daughter brought me today for lunch for my 71st Birthday should of gone elsewhere. We arrived at 12.30 got a seat and ordered our food by 12.45 we had a starter and main. We waited at least 30 mins for starter to come out and the waitress asked if we'd like them to do our mains now as there was a couple of larger tables to cater for we said yes. We finished our starter and was expecting our main to come out within a matter of minutes we waited and waited after 40 mins my daughter went to ask where our mains were no one particularly addressing the problem. The table next to ours were also complaining as they ordered just after us and we also noticed people that came after us had their meals some arrived well after us were eating and were on their way out eventually our food arrived no apology for the wait. Over 2 hrs for a starter and main no way if you have a problem make people aware so they can go elsewhere. Have been here twice before the time before this service was slow but this was more ground to a halt. If you have staff problems sorry but that's not the customers fault who were paying good money to eat. I would certainly not be recommending coming again which is a shame. Feel very let down as not often I get quality time with my daughter.

The Green Man Kenilworth is the best place for breakfast - food was first class and the service second to none; all of the staff are super helpful and friendly, however Nicole and Harris did make our visit extra special - thanks guys ❤️ we will be back soon

Unfortunately we were very disappointed with the service [ waited for an hour for food ) which was disappointing [ a roast dinner with 3 meats ) I chose fajitas sharing , described . In the menu as but received nachos [ really soggy ] with what I can only describe as gunk over if . It wasn't a very good experience . I was looking forward to experiencing the green man but I felt I was let down. Service and food wasn't great .

Food and service good as always I just wish they would bring back proper onion rings not the onion crunch

We've enjoyed good food and good service at The Green Man a couple of times a year over many years, but sadly this was not the case last Saturday. The pub was not busy for a lunchtime. Decided to try ordering at table using the app - what a disaster! After 20 minutes, we had to go to the bar to ask for our drinks to be served. When they came, one was wrong. I suggested I might have got it wrong in the app (I hadn't), to be told "Yeah, probably" by the waitress. The correct drink was then nearly thrown at us without a word. 40 minutes later, we then had to ask when our food was going to be served. When It came it was ok, but nothing special. We decided it was easier to go to the bar to order dessert. It wasn't. It took the bar staff three goes to get the order correct, and they clearly didn't know or understand their own menu options. At least I was asked three times if any of us had any allergies! Before we left, my wife went to the Ladies. It was in a disgusting state, and there was only one cubicle that she was (reluctantly) prepared to use. Thanks for the 25% discount voucher received today, but it's unlikely you will see us any time soon.

We had the three course set meal. Starters arrived after about 30 minutes & were good. An hour later still no sign of the food so we enquired about its whereabouts. On presentation I was told that one of the ingredients was not available & had been substituted. Luke warm & uninspiring mains. After enquiring when pudding would make an appearance we were told that the pudding selected was not available and could we pick something else. I chose sticky toffee & custard as long as the custard was hot. On arrival the custard was cold. I took it back & it was reheated.A great shame as my wife was treating me and had previously had a good meal there . Good ideas but they can't cope.

I arrived when the pub was very quiet and ordered straight away. Waited 1 hour and 20 minutes for haddock, chips and mushy peas. The whole meal was cold. When a young man (Saturday staff?) asked how it was I told him that the meal was cold. A female colleague then came and took my meal away and said it would be replaced within the next '4 minutes'. 30 minutes later the replacement meal arrived - the haddock was ferociously hot (tick), the chips were reheated and dried up and the mushy peas were cold (how? why?). So nearly 2 hours later and an inedible meal. I've been going there for about 20 years but the last several meals there means I won't be going again. They need to look at their kitchen staff - I was one of the first ones to order and one of the last ones to 'not eat'. I really feel for the restaurant staff because they take the brunt of the complaints due to the kitchen staff not following through.

Food was a bit slow today but the manager has left leaving the stuff to run it on their own they are doing a good job under the circumstances

A thoroughly disappointing experience. The pub has sneakily introduced some "euro car park" payment system which is a total ripoff -- I have known a couple of people who've walked in for a pint and gone home with a £60 parking fine. Whatever happened to pub hospitality? Never returning to this establishment.

Absolutely awful meal yesterday, took nearly 1hr to bring food out which was wrong and overcooked. Asked waitress how long food was said she would ask and never came back, then the food was plonked on table not complete and she never said a word. Complained and said I could have £5 back for missing food!! Spoke to manager who was about 20 yrs old, told him to sack the chef and he agreed!! Offered a full refund never going back again worst pub meal I have ever had

Very slow service.the table we booked was not available, arrived at 5-15 pm it was approaching 7pm before we were served then was informed that tarter sauce was unavailable for the scampi surely someone could have gone to the local supermarket and bought some!

We have eaten at the Green Man for years as a large family - we have spent many celebrations and birthdays here. However this time was a bit of a disappointment. One of the meals was a Mixed Grill and the steak was inedible. The chips on the posh fish and chips were cold. The chicken was also quite tough and over cooked. The manager apologised profusely, did not charge for the mixed grill and offered our entire party free desserts. I was really impressed with how he tried to make it up to us. He said that they were having issues with the meat quality and their head chef was missing. We are going back this weekend for another birthday celebration and are hoping this has now improved.

Excellent pub, lovely staff, great beer.

My friend and I went for lunch. We hadn't seen each other for quite a long time and spent a long time chatting without any interruption. We ordered the avocado, bacon and houmous salad it was delicious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend the green man to all my friends and family. It has a lovely environment and very relaxing.

Had to wait a good half an hour for our food, but was really busy. Which is a good sign,really, that it's good food. I wasn't disappointed 👌

MANAGER REFUSED To served US …. Yesterday around lunch time my friend and I decided to visited the pub it was busy and a sign saying only served food for previously booked tables. Staff approach a very polite young man and explained this to us ; it’s ok we only want to catch up and have one drink ,he proceeded to tell me we can seat . From behind the bar a man started yelling the we can seat because all was booking I tell we not want food and the tables on the bar side are no signed reservations. The manager completed REFUSED TO SERVED US notice we are not previously intoxicated or dress break any dress code . He tells the tables are not for us literally in front of everybody. I keep tell him I local and visited the pub for years and I not the service police of the pub . Sadly and very sorry to said the manager of The green man in Kenilworth was not professional at old and in my eyes Racist . Shame of him . I will write a google ,trip advisor and in every local FB page reviewing the pub and about the incident be cause this kind of action can’t be tolerate . Thanks in advance .

We came as a large party of 20+ we were seated and served promptly. Every one’s meal was excellent. Service was polite and professional.

We met some friends for a catch up. I had booked and requested a stool to rest my leg on, as I have recently had a new hip, and was pleasantly surprised to find one had been made available! Food, drinks and service all great, and special mention to the cleanliness of the gent's toilets!

Generally all meals we've had here are good. One of the favourites is the fish and chips or the posh fish and chips. Batter is lovely, light and crisp.

Brilliant Festive Lunch. We had this last year and once again this year, our party of five thoroughly enjoyed the meal. Service was outstanding as usual. Served promptly and table was dressed with Christmas centrepiece, napkins and crackers. All in all a lovely experience. Each one of us determined they wished to come again next year. Congrats to the staff.

Had a lovely afternoon with my wife and family. Celebrating my wife's birthday A most helpful young lady behind the bar serving. Food was delicious. Having had a starter and main relaxed over a pint afterwards. Have been here several times in the past, it's been delightful to return.

Two meal ordered one the meal deal one Ham two eggs chips and peas ,and meal two Grilled chicken new potatoes and peas ,fristmeal good value second meal very sparse camewitha spoon of mashed potatoes ,not ordered ,so plate taken away to comebacklater with new potatoes all cut in half ,warm pluss one potatoe that had been cut and visible on the plate had a black mark running though both halves ths in my mind should have been picked up by both the server and the person plating up ,in my mind this plate of food wasnot value for money . There was a full restaurant ,and this could have been a one that got away , that's why ive rated it Three star.

Ordered the mixed grill which was nice but I feel the presentation should be improved instead of just piling the food up on the plate perhaps an oval plate would have been better then I could have seen what I was eating also what's happened to the mustard satchets now in a pot with no serving spoon ?? How many used knives / forks have delved into that pot of mustard ??

Mains were good, but went down hill from there, need to order desert at same time as ordering main but didn't tell you in app , when they came Ice cream was melted

Sat outside. Very warm inside. I'm not sure what it was about the place that put us off sitting inside but it felt a little lifeless. Typical chain pub I guess. Nice enough beer and a good range too.

Fabulous food for 4 adults. Very reasonable price and all staff were very friendly and helpful. Service was a half hour wait we were told as it was peak time and very busy. We will be back when we come to visit Warwick again. Thank you.

Nice relaxed atmosphere that is family friendly in this pub. Went for the 'saver menu, two courses for £9.49. The fish and chips whilst being a good sized portion of fish, the batter was too oily and could have done with being drained more prior to going on the plate. Mushy peas tasted nice, but were not enough to balance the meal. Unfortunately the accompanying tartare sauce was not available, as they had run out! Must have been a popular dish. We went with treacle pudding for the second course. This was a good sized portion and tasted very nice. It was a very good light sponge and didn't leave us feeling bloated. I had custard, but ice cream and I believe cream, was also available. Good to have the choice. I would happily go back and would choose from the same menu. Staff were friendly and as I say the atmosphere, and decor, was good.

Last minute decision to go out Sunday evening for a meal. You can always rely on the Green Man to serve up good food. Also stayed for the quiz....great fun

Sadly there was a disappointment with the food, the salad lacked some fillings and was bland.

Whilst having a day just driving around we came through Kenilworth & decided to come in & have some lunch. The food was really tasty & very well presented & value for money. The only gripe I would say that I've got is that we didn't realise that we had to register our car with the bar staff. This was our first ever time in the pub & in all honesty I didn't see any signs as I wasn't really expecting to have to register my car. The bar staff never said anything about it either. I've now got a £60 parking fine through the post, ironically it's cost me more to park there than to actually eat inside. We thoroughly enjoyed our food & the warm & friendly atmosphere. Group of friends out for some food and drinks. Made use of the steak night, and glad we did - not only fantastic value, but the steaks were cooked perfectly as ordered and the quality was fantastic - genuinely the best steak I’ve had in a pub for years. Highly recommend. Service from Kai and the team was brilliant as always. Could not be better. Hats off

At the Green man kenilworth Placed order arrived promptly Scampi good gammons good chicken and leek pie great cabbage came out as if run under the hot tap it was cold and raw. Unpleasant asked if I could have peas instead the chef said no the kitchen was closed 9 0clock !!!!!! You can’t get a coffee after 10pm you can’t get a pudding after 9 pm lots of staff I gave my dinner back and told them I did not want it 2 mins later my plate came back with peas!!!! I think the company policy’s and staff training needs refreshing. You offer table times for food until late but in principle this is incorrect. If you go to any restaurant pub you should be allowed to order your whole meal and coffees. You have excepted the booking you should honour it.

Ordered drinks at the bar, staff was v friendly. Same as the table service for the food. Although very young, all staff was keen to help and serve.

My partner and I went to the Greenman in Kenilworth on Wednesday evening for a meal. Nothing was too much trouble for our waiter, Ollie. He was absolutely brilliant, highly recommended visiting. Food was lovely and reasonably priced
