Rude, unattentive staff. The food you want is usually off the menu and when you do get the food it's obvious it's been in a microwave. Dogs at every table barking and whining creating a very unpleasant atmosphere. When I complained to the manager via email I was given a copy and paste response and brushed off. Very expensive and I would avoid.

Visited here on a Friday lunchtime, place was busy with a large group of people but we found a table OK. I had the Steak pie and my wife had the gammon steak. Even though I love a pie I must admit the gammon steak looked better, it was just like you would buy from a butcher rather than the bland, uniform supermarket ones. She said it was the best she had ever had !! We had a lovely pint of Landlord each to go with it. All very good and we will visiti again.

Very disappointing compared with previous visits. Prices have soared and portions have diminished, notably the pie is much smaller and the small plates presented were another indictor of 'cutting back'. We paid £18.50 each for a very small steak & kidney pie, compared to previous visits, that had NO chunks of steak, just mushy insipid non-descript meat that was almost flavourless, and two very small pieces of kidney, no onion, and none of the 'broth' that it all should have been cooked in. The pastry was soft not crisp, and one of our party returned her meal as the pie was not up to temperature. Vegetables comprised 10 chunky chips that were not crisped on the outside, couple of small pieces of cabbage, some sliced carrot and a few other greens. Not what one would expect for £18.50, especially when the menu offered frozen take-away pies for £6.50 each! Yes, fuel, labour and other costs have risen, but this was double whammy of price hike and smaller portions. This is not the first time that our party have had a disappointing meal here, but we decided to give it another chance, as on most visits, including lunchtime sitting outside, the food has been good. On behalf of our group, I think I can safely say that we will not be back!

I visited the pub with a friend for lunch. The garden was huge but we opted to sit inside as it was a bit windy. I tried the chicken and mushroom pie which was delicious and fresh. I have marked them one point down as the gravy was instant! Good selection of drinks and it's always good to see Aspall cider on tap! It's set in a lovely location and a great stop off point if you're cycling the routes around the area or taking a walk along the canal!

We had been given a rave review of the restaurant by neighbours so decided to try it out. Firstly the atmosphere or lack off was noticeable, this may have been as we had requested somewhere less dog friendly as my wife is allergic to them but even so it was disappointing and ..cold! We order starters which were okay but having heard and read so much about the pies waited in anticipation for the mains. Unfortunately that’s where it suddenly became less of a good idea to visit. The pies were again okay but not something to be so ecstatic about and the vegetables and fries definitely not very good. When we paid the final bill we both agreed it wasn’t worth what we had paid which echos some of the other recent reviews. By all means if you want to pay top dollar (£) for a pie this may be the place but most pubs serve something similar for less.

I had a fantastic meal once again. For starters, we enjoyed: - Carrot and orange soup - Chicken liver and brandy parfait For the main courses, my parents chose some hearty options. One had the faggots with mash and peas, while the other opted for fish and chips (cod). Next, I plan to take them for Indian cuisine, but knowing them, they'll probably end up ordering an omelette, haha! For the mains, Mum had the fish and chips. My stepfather ordered the faggots were well-received. My stepdad particularly liked the faggots, as they reminded him of home-cooked food. I picked the chicken leek & bacon pie. If you think the pictures look good x30 for the taste Frantaci seating area both inside & out. I hope you enjoy it as much as we have.

From regular customer to never again!!! I used to live in Warwick and as this was one of my favourite pubs for a Sunday roast I was so excited to return here for Sunday dinner. I had raved about it to my partner and even to my friends who live locally but never been. I could not have been more disappointed for so many reasons. Firstly we seemed invisible to the numerous staff once seated at our table; they kept walking past avoiding eye contact as they were very busy with all the outside tables too. In the end I went to the bar to order. The drinks took forever to arrive and when our food arrived, 2 meals were cold and my son’s child’s meal had weird, unexplainable fried/burnt pieces in it that were definitely not chicken nuggets, chips of beans. Eventually a member of staff “Ellie” asked how we were enjoying our meals and when I highlighted the non-descript bits on my son’s plate, she gave me a stroppy, teenage look to make clear that I was inconveniencing her by not giving her the typical “all good thanks” response. I told her not to worry about it and she got more stroppy asking why, I explained due to her clear disgust in her facial expression and she walked off. I found the manager who could not be more apologetic and offered us all other meals for free but by then the experience was already marred. Given the roasts we ordered were over £20 a plate I would expect so much more. From now on I’ll go somewhere else like the Hatton Arms or one of the many other good eateries in the area. I have never complained about a poor dining experience in my life (I just decide not to return) but this was so poor I felt I had no choice. Perhaps this was a one off but I won’t be risking it when there are so many other great places to eat in the area.

Went with wife today, I chose the burger with bacon, chips & onion rings. When I ordered I asked for crispy bacon but when my meal arrived the bacon was very fatty & definitely NOT crispy, it was almost raw! When I complained they did apologise saying that it was undercooked because the kitchen was very busy which frankly wasn't an acceptable reason for not cooking as specifically requested. When they presented my bill & didn't offer to reduce I requested a discount because of my dissatisfaction so they took off £2! THANKS!

The pies are amazing and the gammon is seriously top notch too, I won the night with my steak and kidney pie with braised red cabbage followed by an amazing apple crumble. I live on the south coast and yet somehow I am planning on taking my wife there soon (was there for a stag do meal after a day at a local activity centre). Oh and the pies can be bought frozen to take home too. They do loads of different ones.

Was really disappointed with our visit to Fleur de Lys. We were recommended this place and was told the pies were top-notch. However, I have to be honest and say I have had better pukka pies. The gravy was nice as we're the chips, but the pie, which should be the star of the show, was bang average and really expensive for what you got served. The pork scratchings at the bar were the highlight of the visit, and the pub itself was lovely.

EXCRUCIATING WAIT. Food was delicious... once it arrived. We had reserved a table for my mum's birthday meal and arrived exactly on time at 13.30 - 3 adults and 4 children. We struggled to find anywhere to park in the car park, which immediately rang alarm bells. The place was heaving, inside and out. We ordered our food by 13.55. Drinks arrived promptly and then the waiting started. 14.30 and no sign of food. 15.00 and none of the four tables in our section had yet been served, of which we were the last to order. At 15.10 we were told food would arrive within half an hour (!). At 15.30 it finally arrived. By then we were sick of waiting, tired, grumpy and the children completely fed up. The food was in fact very good, but the experience was completely spoiled by the wait and all the complimentary crisps and nuts we had been filled with in the meantime. Surely reservations should take priority and a limit placed on the total number of orders taken? Surely we should have been advised of the expected waiting time before ordering, at which point we would have made a polite exit? Sorry, this is our first and last visit to Fleur de Lys.

The steak & kidney and steak and ale pies were really good. I had the former with chips and mushy peas; the chips were the best I’ve had out in many months. We took five pies home, three of which only lasted a couple of days. It’s probably a good thing that it’s a 40 minute drive to the pub otherwise pies might be on the home menu several times a week.

We popped in for a snack and a drink. My husband's prawn sandwich was fine, the soup was delicious and the chips were hot and crunchy. My only grouse is that I asked for the vegan version of the soup and it was brought to me with two portions of dairy butter. I asked the waiter for some vegan butter but was told they didn't have any. Surely the vegan version of a dish should be completely vegan? I left most of my bread as it was far too dry to eat without any spread.

We (extended family of 7 with a high chair) had Sunday lunch at the Fleur de Lys on Nov 17th. The food was really good, well cooked and nicely presented. Several of us had roast beef which was excellent, and they happily catered for some beef being pink and some not due to pregnancy. Liked the big Yorkshire puds, and that the standard accompanying veg (neither soggy nor hard - just right) included cauliflour cheese. We are a gravy-holic family, and staff willingly brought us as much extra as we desired. The young fella who served us was brilliant, we “sampled” a sticky toffee pudding with 6 spoons, again no problem. STPP excellent..lots of custard..would have preferred a bit more toffee sauce but am nit picking here. If we find ourselves back in Henley again we would definitely go back to the Fleur de Lys. We got a table booked at midday a couple of days in advance, but it was v. Busy a bit later on so booking ahead advised I would say.

On my latest visit I had fish and chips which was very disappointing. The fish batter was too thick and soggy and the chips were uninspiring. It’s a shame as the food has historically been good. Decided on our wY home to pop into this place for Sunday lunch. What finally arrived in front of me I was shocked for £17 I could have cooked better than this for our bill of over £40. Dried up piece of chicken, over cooked roast potatoes, 1 large brown parsnip, brown over cooked cauliflower cheese and a few carrots, 1 pieve of brocoli and a slice of savoy cabbage. This was poor and basically was fit for the bin. If you're going to offer a cooked Sunday roast all day at least make it edible and look appetising. I Won't be going back here this was very poor food today and Jamie Oliver would give you a very poor rating if you dished that kind of meal up for him.

Great restaurant near the canal with lovely views. It had comfy seating outside parts shaded and parts in the sun. The food was good and service was excellent! The staff were polite and friendly.

A very disappointing meal. We had to wait nearly an hour for our food to arrive. We ordered fish and chips, which were pricey considering the quality. The chips were obviously frozen, very hard and inedible. The peas were like bullets. The fish was overcooked and tasteless. A real shame!
