Fleur De Lys in Warwick

What's going on??? We live locally and Sunday lunch at the Fleur is an occasional treat for us. Today Sunday lunch was shockingly awful! Uncooked badly prepped veg and recycled roast potatoes.Tasteless beef and fatty. Very poorly presented and nothing like the quality we expect and pay for from the Fleur. Feel thoroughly cheated.

Our second visit as a walking group, although this time we hadn’t walked as it was tipping down with rain! However, we enjoyed a warm welcome, prompt and friendly service with smiles, and absolutely delicious food. Most of the group had pies, all of which were amazing - light pastry, beautiful chips and a jug of gravy. The pub has a wonderful ambience, all the better on a cold and wet day. We shall be back soon to do the walk and enjoy another tasty meal! Highly recommended

When you go out for a meal it’s a treat, a break from cooking yourself. We hadn’t been for years and thought we would give it a try, I chose the Steak and Ale pie, expecting tender meat in a rich gravy. I don’t know what was in the pie, I found some meat among the congealed jelly like substance, very unappetising and tasteless. On the plus side the pastry was vey nice. Dessert was lovely I had crème brûlée with strawberry and clotted cream, 2 strawberries would have been nice. I also noted the main meal was served on a small plate, slightly bigger than a side plate. The waitress did come over to ask if everything was ok with the meal but shot off before anyone could answer. We won’t be going again.

Underwhelmed. Dropped in today on a cycle ride. Liked the idea of a tuna GF sandwich and ordered. It arrived quickly and when I asked about knife and fork to eat the accompanying salad, was told, they are over there. Ok- so I get that I was dressed in cycling gear - but I am still a customer. Had a great opportunity to excel but failed because the server 'couldnt be bothered' To the counter, I did also witness quite a few customers commenting that this was a right choice - so perhaps I was just there at the wrong time.

One of The best meals in a while. Only downside was for me when I couldn’t have had a pie due to not eating meat or onions . But desert compensated for it. Partners pie was reportedly really good .

Average pub with nice interiors and well located by the canal, perfect to enjoy the outdoors. They their pies are exceptional but they are ok. Prices are average like other pubs. Service is very pleasant. Servers are friendly. They also offer frozen pies to go if you really like them.

We had lunch over the Easter weekend. We had booked and the pub was clearly very busy [clearly a pit stop for the canal boats].The staff were young and helpful. We had the famous pies. Portions are all substantial.

Fantastic evening, greeted and taken to our table by a friendly member of staff, order taken, my daughter is veggie and the guy said how nice the veggie pie is so she ordered it. All our meals were lovely, I had fish and chips, crispy batter, great chips, burgers were tasty and veggie pie really good. We didn’t have to wait long for food. We had a treacle tart to share as we were all full but it really was the highlight! So good!!

All the dishes are simply great.

Food is good quality. Clean well run pub. Dogs welcome ! But when the hot drinks machine breaks down, no hot drinks available. Staff unable to use a kettle.

Disappointing as we'd been there on numerous previous occasions and had always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The menu sounds good but the food was not great; the vegetarian special was small and so microwaved that the tart's crust was chewy, the fish very small and we had to ask for the garlic bread which should have accompanied the linguine dish. Overall, rather average and judging by the lack of other diners on a Friday evening, it's been this way for a while. It's such a shame.

The atmosphere and service was good. Staff was friendly despite the constant flow of customers wandering in. The pies were good and love the individual pots of gravy that came with the dish.

Lovely atmosphere and location. The pies are great, I really enjoyed the veggie balti one. The chips are great too, but the veg today was quite disappointing - no one wants a plate full of cubed swede!

A lovely place to sit outside on a summers evening overlooking the Stratford upon Avon canal. Great pies especially the beef and Stilton served with well cooked chips, vegetables and a good jug of gravy. Good prices too. Just been again to the Fleur and had yet another beef and Stilton pie, it was DELICIOUS. Been again last night steak and stilton pie is still the best in town.

Lovely country pub spoilt by dreadful service...staff disinterested and rude...such a disappointment and really spoilt a recent visit...needs a shake up by management.

A group of us somehow managed three courses, but spread over a couple of hours due to the quality and quantity of the food. The pub is ideally suited next to the canal and the car park can be busy. Inside seating must be booked, and is on several levels so let them know when booking if you have access needs. Outside tables - some under cover - are first come first served. Pies are the speciality with a wide range supplemented by specials and if you really enjoy them you can buy chilled or frozen to take home. Good choice of beers including options for draught alcohol free

Unable to comment on the food, as we never got past the most unhelpful waitress ever.! We drove to the pub to find out that the kitchen closed for food at 08 PM, we were there at 5 past 08:00, bit different to the website that says otherwise. However, we drove 5 min up the road and had great food at the DO. Very disappointed how one waitress can let a local village pub down.

We had enjoyed a small win on the Prem Bonds and treated a friend to lunch and of course ourselves. The meal excelled itself and how. Greeted with a huge friendly welcome from Charlie and then Meg and Harriet who soon had drinks on our table and food odere sorted. I enjoyed one of the best fillet steaks I have eaten. The ladies had the pork schnitzel and the Duck and red cabbage both of which did not touch the sides lol Desserts followed which were soon dispatched. Lovely ambience and first rate service much helped by roaring fires. Yes three very happy people

Only sat outside midway a 7 mile walk we had a sandwich and some chips. Daughter had cheesy chips with pulled pork. It was scrumpy. Friendly staff great service big area next to the canal. Covered area.

Was my first time there. The atmosphere of the place was lovely. The building is lovely too. I didn't have to pay for my main meal because they forgot to make it but happy I got it for free. Will definitely be coming here again.

Famed for it's pies, but is authentically a lovely pub. Older worldy inside, lovely canalside seating in summer. Great food. Great beer.

A little disappointed on this visit, they forgot my main, so by the time it came everyone else had finished theirs, however it was removed from the bill and my glass of wine was removed also, so redeemed, but I'd rather leave an honest review, other than that, couldn't fault it, and we're all human so mistakes can be made, and this is the first time its happened, so no harm done we shall return 😀

Lovely pub. Found on the off chance when looking for somewhere near a national trust we were visiting. Friendly attentive staff and great food. Cosy atmosphere with log burner and fire roaring and a secure play park for children outside. Definitely be back and look forward to visiting in the summer with the scenic outside seating by the canal.

This is a very nice olde worlde pub set in the Warwickshire countryside. We walked from the pub car park with some friends and returned to have lunch. Each of us had one of their famous pies and there were clean plates all round. There was a very good selection of beers and ales on offer and the servers were pleasant and good. We will return and can highly recommend it.

Home of the pie. Had a steak and kidney pie, haven't had one for years, absolutely superb.

I ordered the pork snitzel this was the worst version I have ever had, it’s supposed to be super thin & coated in breadcrumbs, when it arrived it was a very thick pork loin not what it should have looked like, it was overcooked and dry, not a breadcrumb in sight and tepid sauce, will never eat there again!!!

Had a lovely family meal in a traditional pub. Pie was great.

Situated fabulously, can get busy. Hence service stars. Do try the sandwiches, very nice with an ale at the side of the canal. Little play area that we couldn't get the grandson off! Small footy area with goals. And spacious parking. Very nice. Remember to book, we just dropped in but still were sat and fed, after a time. Must go place.

Just stopped for a couple of drinks, on a Sunday afternoon. It was very busy, lots of people eating. There was a busy atmosphere. Plenty of outside seating, in the summer, by the canal. Definitely worth a visit.

Brilliant place, brilliant food and absolutely gorgeous bar staff 😄😜. I fancied the girl with the well done eyelashes that I spoke to about ordering me a cab because they refused the job as I have a deep cockney London accent. If you read this you beautiful soul find me on the book 🤗😁

Absolutely wonderful food and service, nice setting too. Definitely a hidden gem.

Good parts: the pies were absolutely delicious. The steak and Stilton had the most tender meat I’ve ever had in a pie and my friend had the chicken bacon and leek which she said was great. The pub side of the restaurant is so cosy however we were the other side in the restaurant which is a bit soulless- next to the swinging kitchen door. Service - quite bizarre I’m not sure our waitress is cut out for the hospitality life - forgot to put our order through so we waited an hour for our pies- no apologies, no offer of drinks/ a starter to compensate (I’ve worked in hospitality for years and that’s the bare basic!). In contrast the table next to us had 3 courses in the time we waited… Warm treacle tart was delicious- had with custard instead of ice cream. So would highly recommend for food but request a table in the pub side and service could be a lucky dip!

Such a lovely location by the canal, open fires, nicely decorated. But customer service was non-existent and food, while advertised as cooked fresh, appeared to be microwaved. Had chicken balti and the chicken was inedible - very rubbery.

Lovely country pub restaurant with a canal side location. Outside bar as well. Park walk and eat or drink. Friendly and welcoming. Not cheap but decent quality.

One of my favourite Warwickshire pubs. The atmosphere is always warm and inviting and the food is delicious. Love those pies! A great place to moor our narrowboat too.

This is one of the best pubs I have been to for a long time. The setting is great. The staff were superb, no pressure to choose or hurry up. The food was well prepared and the beer was good. Not on our doorstep but we will return.

We have visited twice in the past week as various friends like to come to “ the pub that does the great pies!” We have had both the turkey dinner which was an excellent portion & very tasty & also the Christmas festive pie. The pie did not disappoint. It was packed with chunks of turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce & pigs in blankets all wrapped up in the familiar Losenford pastry pie ‘ was declared to be an excellent pie. We have brought some Christmas steak pies home to enjoy too. Well done Team Fleur. The food keeps getting better and better.

I was moored opposite The Fleur De Lys for a week on my Narrowboat.... What a gorgeous old pub. The staff are very welcoming & friendly. The Pies are amazing..... Thank you. George

Fleur-de-lys is a firm family/friends favourite, we have a 90-min round trip every time we go and we never regret it! The pies are undefeated and the pre-order and table booking process for large groups is always pain-free. First choice for important events and spontaneous pie craving! Play area for kids is ideal, kids/veggie menu is well loved and idyllic village setting is great for local walks along the canal. Looking forward to next visit. Thanks team!

My starter Warm mushrooms on toast was cold mushrooms on dry hard, stale Bread. My main meal which was Xmas dinner was very poor. I couldn't cut the Broccoli it was so hard. How can you do that to a vegetable. The Swede was rock hard and the Roasters were horrible. The Pigs in blankets were undercooked it's a wonder I haven't had Stomach ache. I would be embarrassed to serve anyone with such a poor standard. Not worth half of what I had to pay.

A great country quaint pub with loads of character, a good selection of beers with excellent food especially the pie's next to the canal.

Such a cosy place. Food was excellent and service was great. Lovely setting and very cosy this time of year. Looking forward to visiting in the summer when outside will be warm. I had chciken risotto which was a delicious. Would reccomend this and was gluten free. Good gluten free menu.

Very poor slow service. The waiter couldn't be bothered to come to us to get our drink order. He stood at the end of the table and waited for us to go to him! Food very average. My salmon was hot but not the vegetables under it. The room was chilly despite a log burner.

Expensive and the staff was rude to us we were staying on the canal and he told us there were no shops around but we went for a walk and found 3 shops never again

This pub has a great atmosphere; it was cosy and inviting and full of people. When we arrived, the fire was lit and we were lucky enough to be sat right next to it. I went for the beef and stilton pie which comes with chips, some steamed veg and a big jug of gravy. All the pies are homemade, and at £15, very reasonably priced. The rest of the menu was extensive with plenty of other lighter options if you don't want to commit to a big old pie! My dog was right at home here too. It seems popular with dog walkers as there were quite a few other fluffy companions in the pub at the time. This is a great spot for wholesome, fairly priced food in a lovely setting.

Stopped for a drink, very nice place, I should imagine it's extremely busy on a nice day though. Food that came out looked stunning.

Some of the pies I have ever tasted. Went out with the four of us (and the dog) and the bill including tip was less than £150. Cannot go wrong with that

Stayed in Lowsonford and called in for a couple of drinks, nice pub in a great position next to the canal. Sat outside in a great beer garden and a big area for kids to play.Staff were very friendly too.

Dreadful experience!! Waiting an hour before food arrived, had to ask for cutlery, vegetables hard, uncooked. Asked for cooked veg which arrived as we had finished. Kitchen closed at 8.00 so desert not an option. Restaurant and pub virtually empty at 8.30. Staff busy laying up for next day. Will not return.

Called in on recommendation of the marina we collected our narrow boat from, the pub was amazing! Although busy, staff were welcoming, friendly and knowledgeable, steak and stilton pie was incredible. A good range of beers to chose from, everything reasonably priced. Loved it so much we ate there again on our return journey, more pies were enjoyed, the following day we collect frozen pies to take home with us. Would highly recommend this charming country pub, with plenty of space inside and out, a great atmosphere, and really interesting history to the place.

We have been a canal boat holiday and where recommended to head for this canal side pub ... it was so good we call again on our way back passed .. lovely staff . Food ( the pies to die for ) and lovely atmosphere.. we even brought some pies home with us ..

We were in a large area next to main dining area and it lacked atmosphere. Food was ok but nothing spectacular. Meal we tried to order was no longer available.

Wow! Where to start. We sat in the section by the bar and were served by Megan and Helen who were very welcoming and friendly. The ambience was great and with a bubbly vibe from the staff who seems liked they all got on very...

A truly wonderful pub. Great atmosphere, wonderful choices of ales, and homemade pies that are out of this world. Found this whilst moving a boat and would certainly recommend a visit. If you're on a boat then there are good moorings and a great place to stop before, or after, Lapworth! You can even buy the pies frozen or chilled to take away. Staff were very pleasant and friendly and pub had a lovely atmosphere. I have recommended the steak and ale pie only because it was the only one I had - but all of the other ones sounded equally inviting.

This pub does not have a wheelchair accessible toilet so dont believe its staff if you ring up. wasted journey

I've been going to the Fleur de Lys since I used to go with my parents 60 years ago. Still the same friendly pub with excellent drink and food.

Butternuts squash spinach and goats cheese pie had no trace of the latter. Chunky chipped were mushy. Vegetables were raw on both pies. Roasted Stuffed aubergine missing on the Mediterranean veg.

A sunny afternoon sitting outside, chatting with lovely friends whilst eating good food. What's not to like 😉

Never visited before but had a lovely tasty fresh meal on a hot sunny day in a great covered area outside. Plenty of benches and umbrellas in a generous garden aswell which was lovely. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Good prices and portion sizes aswell. Will return!

There was an incident in the bar on Saturday 9th September gentlemen collapsed staff were excellent dealt with that situation very well good food only.minor point I had veggie burger bun was a little dry and no veggie options on specials board either ..back there on Saturday 16rh ..excellent location great atmosphere you are not rushed to finish your meal

Pre-booked table for 12.30 when asked to be shown to the table staff had cancelled it at 12.33?! Booking reinstated we sat to eat, order taken immediately 2xRoast Beef Dinners 1xVeggie Roast Dinner Food arrived promptly veggie roast was measly lacked the cauliflower cheese &...

Maybe we were unlucky. Our food was mediocre and one meal we couldn’t eat. The management did deal with this issue, however. Loos were filthy - I guess a busy day. Just don’t expect this when you’re paying quite a lot for food and drink :-/

Decided to sit outside. Tables were dirty. Cleaned our own. Food was adequate to say the best. Pies were OK. Fish was not of a decent quality. Salad was poor. Waitresses walked past dirty tables with nothing in their hands. Will not be returning.

Yes. Just yes. Good food, nice staff, plenty of parking and seating. The pies are as good as everyone says they are. Would definitely go back next time it's sunny.

Stopped for beers and cider at this pleasant historic pub. A good selection of ales and ciders. A spacious beer garden runs down to the Stratford canal.

This place will always have customers due to its canal side location in a very nice area. Unfortunately lunch menu is as bland and boring as it gets. May as well bring a quickly made ham sandwich from home.

We found this place purely by chance after a day out. We were so glad we did, the food was incredible! If you visit you MUST try one of their award winning pies 😋 Lovely staff and a lovely place!

A wonderful country pub in a gorgeous location next to a canal. Excellent food, a bit pricey but you must try the famous pies £15. Lovely garden to sit out in and watch the boats chug by.
