The staff were very welcoming and helpful. The room was stylish and clean and had everything I needed. Great shower, pillows, sheets, ironing board, perfect. The restaurant was busy, the burger was lovely and came promptly. Car park was busy, but it was ok to park on the verge.

Fillet steak at over £30 and the ‘chef’ could not produce a medium rare - this was raw in the middle. Service from our waitress was dreadful and the previous comments posted reflected the same inconvenient, unfriendly, awkward approach to our party. We were interrupted during our conversations every time she appeared and said ‘ how are you doing guys’. The manager didn’t even show their face to apologise and I wondered if the resident chef must have been on holiday!

Not a great experience, visited with my partner for lunch. We were sat next to a couple with two children in the restaurant playing with very noisy toys which meant our lunch would not have been very relaxing at all. My partner went to ask if we could move to another table only to be met with an attitude as if we were putting the waitress out, so we decided to leave rather than sit for two hours spending money with banging and clacking next to us, shame as the menu looked quite nice but if they can't accommodate a couple to relax in the restaurant we'll go elsewhere

Restaurant not great on this visit. Always a nice setting and ambiance but food disappointing considering the premium pricing. Crab on toast was like it was out of a tub from Costco, no additional flavouring or citrus and the toast was cold soft bread. Scallops were overcooked and tasteless. Mains similarly underwhelming

Don't miss out on this beautiful pub and great food with lots of free parking. We all started off with sharing boards of olives, bread, dips and tortilla chips. For my main, i request for my fillet steak to be black and blue, and the chefs, truly delivered. It was cooked perfectly, with a side of chips, mushroom, tomato and onion. Everyone was complimentary of their dishes which all looked amazing. From the hake special, chicken supreme, T-bone steak and side plates of cauliflower and greens. They clearly have talented people in the kitchen to deliver great courses for a table of 8. Excellent hosting skills, staff were friendly, warm and attentive. Have already recommend this lovely pub to others.

I went to the Punchbowl in Lapworth this past weekend, and I have to say—it was hands down the best roast beef dinner I’ve had in a long time! The beef was cooked to perfection, beautifully tender, and full of flavor. It came with all the classic trimmings—crispy roast potatoes, seasonal veg, a perfectly cooked Yorkshire pudding, and the richest, most delicious gravy. Every bite was a dream! The service was friendly and attentive, and despite it being busy, everything was timed just right. If you’re looking for a proper top-tier Sunday roast, The Punchbowl is the place to go. I’ll definitely be back!

Fabulous place to eat. The staff were so friendly and helpful, they just couldn’t have done more to make our visit special. The place has a lovely friendly atmosphere and the decor is quite chic. We had chicken Parfait to start and Caesar salad as a main course. And who doesn’t have a dessert on their birthday! The food was just sensational we couldn’t have asked for more as them there was! Chef did a plate with Happy Birthday written in chocolate with candle in a chocolate Brownie. What a lovely gesture.

We were hyped up for a premier quality of food with their snooty ‘no sportswear’ request. We proudly marched in a-blazoned with hoodies and trainers. Had the fish sandwich for lunch which was a bit basic and dry and could have done with a bit more tartar sauce and salad. Chips were also a bit dry and hard. The Lapworth elite with their cars, knitted t-shirts, perma tans and turkey teeth seem to love the place so must be doing something right. The main positive was the open kitchen pass which provided some mild entertainment. Waiting staff were also pleasant.

Lovely big room nice and comfy. Bathroom needed some attention black mould in tiles and a roof leak. The breakfast was nice but very pricey and not included in £130 per night room. The service was shocking from the Sunday morning staff 02/03 not a smile very unfriendly handed my bill on check out without a word. Service was so slow and everything felt like a huge inconvenience I started to laugh at one point like it was a joke. I couldn’t believe for such a seemingly upmarket place this was the attitude of staff. We didn’t realise breakfast was included and when the disinterested man handed us the bill we left and headed to the car. We were then chased down by a staff member asking us to pay the food which we believed had been included in error as it wasn’t explained at check in.

Very poor really this restaurant has been hit or miss for as long as I can remember. The service as always was slow with apart from one lady pretty disinterested staff. 3 meals were unavailable which is not unusual. I ordered thr Chicken and Bacon Cesar salad. I had it two weeks ago and it was nice. Without warning or changing the menu they added anchovies and certainly didn’t inform me. I hate them and left my family to it and went home to be sick. My advice is to go for Sunday Lunch or have a bowl of chips at the bar.

I’ve been to this pub so many times as family live very close by. Over the years it has become a bit of an iconic pub in the area and used to live up to the hype. However, this time it was really lacking. Men’s toilets were revolting, the set menu was limited and was obviously Xmas day leftovers, the service was quite underwhelming and we were seated in what was basically a lean-to extension. This pub needs to up their game if they want their reputation back.

I’ve been here lots of times for lunch with my partner but won’t be returning. My partner ordered fish from the specials menu. As it turned out, nobody had cleaned the fish (served whole) or removed the entrails. As it was cut, you can imagine what spilled onto the plate. I called a server over and pointed this out. She offered a replacement meal, but given the severity of the issue I was disappointed that nobody more senior came over to apologise. There was no update to how long it would be. And of course we were charged at the full price.

Disappointing. Booked a table well in advance for 10.15am brunch with 5 friends. Unwelcoming staff on arrival told us to wait as they were busy and seemed to ignore/forget us. Finally seated and told we had 2 minutes to order before the kitchen closed and that the 'chefs head was coming off'! After complaining, we were given special allowance (!) to order despite the kitchen closing at 10.30am. Had to get up and find someone to request the bill, then had to get up and find someone to pay the bill! Not sure why they take bookings at 10.15am when they can't fit good customer service and orders in in that time. No apology from management and had to pay full bill. Good food but disappointing service. Won't return.

Visited for my mom's special 70th birthday and it was a complete let down. Poor service - service with a smile I think not. Took ages, rock hard roast potatoes, waited a long time, hardly any veg between us (had to ask for more and still only got one carrot). My neices desert of cookie dough took 50 minutes, when asking the waitress whether it was on the way she snapped back 'I was about to check on that.' Only asked about drinks once. For such a lovely setting that I've been to many times and for the price tag, the punchbowl has gone downhill. Certainly a mistake booking it for such a special occasion. For context, there was 8 of us, not a huge group.

Been here many times and I have to say my recent visit was a let down. I hope this doesn’t represent a decline. We were left far too long to be served, despite the staff standing around waiting for food to arrive to be served and having a chat. Eventually I had to ask a waitress if we could order to which she replied curtly ‘it’s a 20 minute wait for food!’. Certainly a lot more than that if you added on the wait to be served! I ordered the focaccia to nibble on which was £7. When it arrived (eventually) it was 2 small pieces of bread and a tapenade. Very poor value for money. Our main courses were not great either and not representative of previous quality we’ve had. My wife’s fish was very watery and bland. My chicken Normand was nice, but came with very few tasteless potatoes and a small portion of beans. Again poor value Same waitress arrived as we’d just about finished our food and asked how our meals were? I’m sure if I’d said terrible should have said thank you (just not interested). Overall a very disappointing visit with very poor service and uninspiring food which was poor value.

We chose this venue for our Ruby Wedding Anniversary party. The main reason was that we had come here for our wedding reception 40 years ago! We were very impressed with the whole layout of the Punchbowl, it had a lovely garden with outside covered eating area, good sized restaurant and great event room for up to 100 people (if you include the external area). The rooms were also lovely, spacious, modern, and well appointed. The Punchbowl staff catered our party with the excellent fixed buffet, this was just about perfect but don't order too much as the amount of food was very generous. We also added some add ons fir the children attending and arranged a tea and coffee station. Nearly all our guests commented on how nice the food was. We booked the afternoon slot and after this we were encouraged to continue our celebrations in the covered eating area outside the event room. So we continued- until the small hours 😂. All the staff were very friendly and helpful - even when settling the bill! There was a service charge added but this was pointed out to us and we could change it without problem. Overall, we couldn't have hoped for a nicer day of celebration. Thank you Punchbowl

Wonderful experience. Great food and amazing service. Really accommodating my friends dietary needs. Cake and candle for friends mums birthday was a lovely touch. We had problems with traffic but were really helpful about rearranging if necessary.

Perfect Doom Bar Immaculately clean with polite and efficient service. Simple warm chicken wrap with fries at the bar.

Very disappointing lunch. Not much choice. Fish and chips, burger or various sandwiches and wraps. The fish was very small (even though I had the large) and impossible to cut. Anyone ever had stretchy fish! Served on a cold plate and the peas were stone cold although this was speedily rectified. Would NOT recommend.

Have been to The Punchbowl previously and had fantastic food. Something has changed, maybe the chef? We didnt have starters, ordered mains which took 50 minutes to arrive which is shocking. Food arrived and was "warm" at best, called the manager who served us and he arranged for the food to be reheated !!! Was going to complain again but at least we had someting to eat. Had a sticky toffee pudding for desert, was dry and crumbly. Really poor experience, maybe they have too many covers now which means food is average at best. Why don't you reduce the amount of covers so you can cook great food instead of what I would describe as "beefeater" ??? Appreciate the young staff however no question of quality service - just looks of "whatever" There doesn't seem to be any connection between the food being cooked and then being served, probably why the food was luke warm ?? - If anybody from The Puchbowl reads this, happy to discuss further.

Lovely lunch venue, good menu options, great range of wines and beers. Nice to have some alcohol free options for the drivers and their coffee was good too. The staff were very attentive and helpful. Plenty of room in the car park. About 5 mins drive from Packwood house. Recommend you book. Disabled parking spot by the entrance.

Didn’t stay but they fitted us in as we hadn’t booked, had gammon eggs and chips and fish and chips, both lovely. The service was fast and friendly, all round a fantastic find. We got a 10% discount as we were staying at the Marlborough Arms which was the icing on the cake. Next time we’ll take the dogs as we were in the minority!

We had a very disappointing lunch at the Punch Bowl yesterday (Sunday 19th) which appears now to be prioritising downmarket volume and profit over the dining experience their customers enjoy. Indicative of what was to come, the car park was full when we arrived with cars overspilling onto the surrounding grass verges and on yellow lines on the roads nearby. Inside, the previous relaxing and enjoyable environment has been changed to noisy and uncomfortable, with too many tables crammed in to accommodate too many diners. The downmarket trend was also apparent in the clothing of choice for some diners who favoured shiny running shorts and cheap, ill-fitting t-shirts (despite clearly not having taken part in the Knowle Fun Run that day!) Throughout our meal we experienced the joy of a baby on a nearby table crying and yelling almost continuously, with the parents (and management) apparently oblivious to the effect of this on the experience of surrounding diners. The food itself was OK although by no means exceptional. In fairness to the waiting staff they were friendly, attentive and responsive. Previously this has been a favourite place to come for lunch or dinner but I think we will be eating elsewhere in the foreseeable future.

We visited here with our Guide Dog puppy to meet with the sponsors who gave him his name. It was a brilliant visit and a lovely, calm atmosphere

We made the mistake of coming here hoping to have a nice day. The attitude we encountered was unpleasant. There’s nothing positive to say in terms of customer service. I definitely don’t plan on coming again.

Despite countless other cafes on the parade, this is about the only one we go to . Staff are always so friendly, fast service with a smile. Clean and friendly with great coffee, sandwiches and cake. Couldn't ask for anymore from a cafe .

Didn't get the chance to eat here as we were completely ignored left standing and waiting. Very unprofessional and unpleasant experience.
