Just had a lovely meal at the Navigation inn. The food was delicious, especially the cauliflower cheese, you get your money’s worth, fantastic service, the staff are happy and serve with a smile. I would definitely recommend this pub for food and I’ll be back very soon!

Stopped for Sunday lunch as we were passing through and were very hungry. We are both vegetarian so ordered the vegan toast with a butternut sage and spinach pie and added a Yorkshire pudding. I’ll start with the positives, nicely cooked veg and fabulous yorkie! The food arrived after waiting 45 minutes. However the pie was filled with a “ball” of what appeared to be frozen spinach in the middle of a pie dish, stuffing and diced butternut squash, no sauce at all! Roast potatoes were undercooked and hard and the pie was topped with a square of puff pastry adhered to the side of the bowl. Gravy was served in a shallow tapas dish. The “pie” was dry and required extra gravy which after having to put into my pie dish left no gravy for the rest of the toast dinner. Went to the bar to ask for more gravy and advised them my pie was dry and she responded with, the fish of gravy is to pour into your pie. Couldn’t eat all of the pie filling as quite frankly the amount of gravy that made is palatable made is turn so salty it was inedible. Ate the rest as we were continuing our journey and were very hungry. Now have a very bad stomach ache. Honestly guys if you can’t be bothered to make a palatable veggie roast dinner, just take it off the menu!

Having decided to enjoy the sunshine and go for lunch at a traditional canalside pub we were disappointed that the already limited menu was limited further by the fact they had ran out of fish & chips the ham & hock pie. With our two first choices unavailable we both opted for the hessian chicken burger at £15.95. When it arrived we were disappointed to say the least. The burger consisted of a small chicken breast, a slice of tomato, a small slice of gherkin and one small piece of lettuce. The bun was extremely small and looked like the burger buns you can get in a pack from any high street supermarket. Accompanying the burger we also received a dozen chip. Unfortunately we left feeling that we had been ripped off and will therefore not be returning.

Avoid at all costs if having food!! It was a 0 from me.. ordered the spaghetti which came out freezing cold! Which I complained about, the dish then came back out 15 minutes minutes later! They also had no cheese for this! This spaghetti tased and looked like a microwave meal and was a shocking £16.50 such a shame no idea who has taken over but they need to give their head a wobble or just give up! Absolute vile!!!

Having given the Navi a wide berth for the last couple of years, after hearing how bad it had become under the new owners, the lure of the pub garden on a summer's afternoon persuaded me to visit with some friends. On entering the pub, my initial impression was how dark it was as everything had been painted brown, really depressing. There were no customers inside the pub, a far cry from the old days where you were always assured a warm welcome from the many locals and visitors who frequented the pub. Only two cask ales were available and as you can see from my photo, my pint didn't look particularly appealing, although admittedly, it tasted better than it looked. We took our drinks into the pub garden which now has nice new furniture however the lovely hanging baskets that the previous management festooned the patio with, have all gone. Not many other customers came in while we there. It's such a shame that a village pub in such a prime location has been allowed to deteriorate to such an extent that few people now go there. The owners need to have a serious re-think on how they are running this pub and how they go about getting the many locals, walkers and boaters to return.

1. The girl that works the bar seems to think she is a bouncer and tells everyone if they step out of line they will have trouble with her, she is not the right person to have at a country pub. She feels its necessary to intimidate folks 2. They never seem to have enough food to full fill the menu 3. The place needs a deep clean and then they need to get a cleaner in daily 4. They never seem to have enough staff on 5. Used to be a great boozer but its gone down hill 6. They shut the kitchen as weird times

Ordered the Caesar Salad, came with no egg, sent it back and waited at least 10 mins before giving up (as all my friends had finished eating) and requesting a refund. My friend's chicken sandwich did not materialise and she also asked for her money back - the manager came and unfortunately did not apologise but said he's doing it now' to which we replied we had to go. One of my friends who had a sandwich didn't get piccadilly with it (and despite asking it never materialised). Another friend had the Caesar Salad with chicken and said the croutons were very soggy and there was far too much mayo dressing on it. Altogether a disappointing experience, we will find somewhere else to eat next time.

Went for lunch, burger was fantastic, served in a brioche bun with side of fries which were cooked perfectly. Others in the party opted for Sunday lunch, which they would recommend, especially the pork. Service was prompt and friendly. Only downside was the kids choice of dessert (only ice cream available). Would return and recommend to others!

Zero atmosphere . Staff need training and a uniform . One of the barstaff looked like she'd just come from a night out . And all the missing beer pumps . Gave the whole place an air of neglect . And instead of the smell of roasting meats and gravy . The main bar just reeked of cheap perfume .

Typical pub grub and not very exciting menu. My plate was piled high which I believe is what some people want from a pub meal - I do not. I was totally put off by the sight of it and on top of that all my vegetables were undercooked and cold. The server did bring me a new bowl of vegetables but I had been so put off it didn't help with my opinion.

We ate here one afternoon after spotting it from the canal. We moored up and came over for lunch and got there just in time to eat. We sat outside in the shade on a very hot day and it was a lovely place to sit and cool down. The covered area outside is beautifully done and there are two enormous weeping willows through which you can just see the narrowboats coming past on the canal. Officially the kitchen closes at 3pm and we ordered bang on 3pm. There was some doubt at first about whether they would be able to serve us but they agreed to do so in the end which was very kind of them. The food when it arrived was absolutely beautiful and very generous portions. The beer's great too. The staff were all very young and seemed to really enjoy working together but were also polite and professional when at our table. We loved it here and cannot wait to visit again.

First time we’ve been able to meet up with relatives for over a year. They live nr. Solihull so we chose the Navigation Inn at Lapworth. Nice location on the canal. Nice size garden and some covered seating too, so all good. The waitress who took our order was very nice, friendly and helpful. She seemed a little older than the other staff which is probably why she was the only friendly, helpful member of staff! The food was average, not good not bad. It was also tepid by the time we got it. We asked for no tartare sauce on the fish dish but it came with sauce which covered some of the food meaning that the person who had ordered that couldn’t eat part of his meal. We would normally have sent it back but the service was slow so we didn’t want to wait any longer. The menu was limited but that seems to be the norm in most places at the moment. It was our first get together for ages so we had a good time, but I wish I could have rated the Navigation inn above average.

I haven’t been to this pub for a very long time, thanks Covid!! The staff at the Navigation Inn made our visit so welcoming. Service was excellent with very friendly staff and the food was honestly superb.. I read a previous negative review which I completely disagree with. Nothing was too much for the lovely staff here and let’s face it since restrictions have been lifted everyone wants to sit outside of a pub. Sometimes people look to be negative which is a great shame. I have booked in for Father’s Day.

We were amongst the first people to arrive at lunch time, a beautiful sunny day and we sat in the field area. We had at least four different servers in the time we were there and there was just no organisation amongst staff. Drinks took ages, then menus arrived, ages later our order was taken and when food finally arrived, we then had to go and find cutlery and condiments ourselves( of which none were Covid friendly as in use of sachets etc). The menu was overpriced, a chicken tikka wrap and fries was nearly £10 and the chicken was dry as a bone and fries were cold. When there has been four months to get organised and have a system in place then there is no excuse for this poor standard. A real shame.

We visited the navigation as a walk in after using their car park to start our hike. We had a late lunch, arriving at about one. This is a lovely pub in such a wonderful location. It is smart, well kept, clean, with mixed clientelle all of whom were quietly enjoying a day in the sun......it was busy.....but didn't feel crowded at all. The food was lovely, the only gripe we have is that the young table staff, as wonderfully as polite hardworking and helpful as they were weren't particularly getting a handle on the backlog of drinks and trying to get the attention of somebody to clear the table or order food was a nightmare. When we could eventually place an order, our food came out promptly but after finishing it we still hadn't received our drinks. Three members of staff were asked and eventually around two hours after having actually placed the order the drinks appeared. Not knocking them too much as it was the first weekend open for trade in the pandemic and we expect there may be hiccups. Will be back and hopefully the ordering issue will be resolved.

We came here for the first time after a visit to Baddesley Clinton. The pub looks lovely inside and out. For summer weather there are plenty of outdoor tables on the large grass area which is right next to the canal. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. This place is a one hour drive for me to get to but even if we didn't get to visit a National Trust property, I will be returning with friends and family because of the food. Run by a husband and wife team from Yorkshire, this canal side haven serves the finest cask ale in the county, never a bad pint. Lagers too and did I mention the only hand pull Guiness in the country? The food has also become a very good feature of the pub and the use of an additional outdoor bar and awning (to be fully curtained in winter time with heaters) is an additional feature. My favourite food, sea bass is always good and the staff are very professional and attentive.

Booked a table for 2 for our wedding anniversary - Dinner service. Weather wasnt great so didnt venture out to explore the canal and surroundings. We ordered a couple of drinks at the bar and were seated. Our server told us we needed to order everything at once otherwise we’d have delays in the food coming out. We weren’t going to be rushed so we ordered a rustic bread appetiser while we perused the rest of the menu. When the breads came we ordered the starter and mains and asked for the food to be paced out. Well the starter came within 5 mins of our breads and once we’d finished, our mains came straight away. We returned the mains back and asked them again to pace out our meal. Which our server finally did.The food itself was excellent and BIG portions - the rustic breads had lovely flavours, we shared a garlic prawn starter which again was lovely and our mains (Lamb rump and Salmon) were delicious. Enjoyable experience overall but felt we were being hurried along.

I called in advance to check the gluten free options and felt reassured that there would be plenty of choice. The person I spoke to said they would make sure the staff who served us would be aware, and they were working on a gluten free menu. So I felt confident going to the restaurant...When we arrived there was sanitiser available... the actual dining room felt very unsafe with tables very close together and staff leaning over us! If youre feeling worried about covid still this is not the place to go.I asked about the gluten free options. The girl serving us said there is a menu and disappeared to get it but then returned with a menu with ticks and stars from the chef... i wanted the goats cheese salad but was told that's not gluten free but I could have the haloumi. I questioned why and the server didn't know. I had the haloumi and my partner had the goats cheese and I could see no reason why I couldn't have that...The server was confused about my options for main. It seems I could have fish and chips, burger and chips or pasta... even though the chips are cooked in the fryer gluten items. I opted for steak and was told I could only have new potatoes with it - no other sides were available as gluren free (although my server suggested I could remove potatoes to make the dish gf). The portion was generous, the steak was tasty and cooked really well. There was a huge portion of new potatoes... i asked for some butter and was handed a ramekin full of butter.. and also crumbs so I just gave up using that! The people I was with said their meals were nice. The portion sizes were good. I think if I hadn't spoken to the restaurant earlier in the day I wouldn't have been expecting to feel safe to eat there... i didn't enjoy my meal because I was worried. This is a very convenient stop for canal boats and there is a large beer garden with tables... but i would not hurry back.

We had a lovey meal here with friends. We were seated promptly and the service was good. The food was varied and there were some different options to the normal sort of stuff as well- Jerk Tuna springs to mind which my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed. My only reason for dropping a mark is that the table we sat on (first one down the steps in the restaurant) felt quite out in the open with everyone walking past you, it was also quite cramped for four of us.

Good staff, good food and good service. The only reason for the lower score is that they don't appear to have adjusted the eating area at all to allow for social distancing. Forget 1m distance separation let alone 2 metres - there's one table that everyone walked closely right past to get in and the central area of the restaurant area had people sitting back to back so close they could touch each others chairs with their chairs. Its a pity as the food is good but unless they institute some separation between tables, we won't be going back. If we hadnt got a relative with us, we would have gone elsewhere. They need half the number of tables in the restaurant area.

After waiting nearly an hour for food we started to get a bit annoyed, our daughter has Adhd and she was trying her hardest to behave at the table but it was getting more challenging. After we saw the family who arrived after us get their food We asked one of the staff where the food was who went to find out. I had to keep asking until someone eventually came out and told us the food order had not gone through to The kitchen!! This meant that we could have waited nearly 2 hours for a meal after they sorted their mistake! When I raised my concerns I was told that they didn’t have to open and that they were doing there best during this pandemic. What a rediculous response, There are loads of restaurants doing the same and they are not incompetent like these idiots! It was really quite pathetic how poor it was. After I lost my rag with the useless manager or whatever he was we were told to leave. Would never spend my money here again. Appalling. Go somewhere else. We called in for lunch. Staff were brilliant but we were not impressed with the food. And thought for what we had it was over priced.

Always get a warm welcome from Mark and Alison who own this lovely canal side pub.We had the two course Sunday lunch for 19.95 and it was absolutely wonderful. Well presented, tender roast beef, massive yorkies, crisp roast potatoes and a really flavorsome gravy. Really enjoyed it. Followed this up with a lovely chocolate and caramel torte with creme fraiche. Would highly recommend this place. Excellent service from Kerry.

We went here with our family. A pub with a lovely restaurant. Beer and Wine really good, but the Food was even better! The usual pub choices of Fish, Steak and Burgers, but they had great unusual choices. Really worth a visit, it has been 4 years since our last visit, but we will back very soon. Thanks

Four of us went here for lunch after a morning walk, we were warmly welcomed (including my friend's dog). Delicious soup, and the fish finger sandwich that one of us had was very generous (and tasty she said) A stilton tartlet was also delicious I am told although it looked a bit lonely on the plate! Decent vegetarian choices. Good coffee. Nice clean toilets. No blaring music that we had to shout over - a nice peaceful place. It would be a lovely place to sit outside if the sun shone. I would go back. Perhaps with a group of hungry cyclists - it's possible to book a table!

Stopped off here for a canal walk and a drink. They were reasonably busy outside but the small bar area was well attended and we were served quickly. Outside area well. Kept and dog friendly.

We absolutely loved this place earlier in the trip and stopped again a few days later. Very impressed with location, ambience, fabulous service and delicious beautifully prepared food. Over the two visits we had sea bass, gnocchi, fish cake, halloumi fries, beef brisket, lamb shank, duck and the mixed grill. The servers were top class, attentive and impressively, remembered the wine we had enjoyed on the first visit. Five stars for sure. Don't confuse with other close by pubs with the same name!

We went to the Navigation for a family Sunday lunch. The service, especially from Sarah, was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. The food was a bit of a let down. More specifically, the meats for the Sunday roasts. The beef and the pork were both very dry, as if they had been sliced a couple of hours earlier and left under a hot lamp. The vegetables were OK though. And the desserts delicious. So a little bit disappointed.

We visited this pub on a sunny Friday afternoon. The pub is quaint and welcoming. The garden is very big with a lower field with extra seating. It's a lovely spot alongside the canal. We had a drink and then went for a walk and returned later on when they were serving food. There was a happy hour on which offered around 50p off some drinks which seemed hardly worth it. However they were offering free nibbles at the bar. We ordered our meals which came out in very good time and were delicious. All in all a lovely pub and meal.

My husband and I went today for lunch but we're dissapointed with the prawn sandwich we had the bread was dry,. I mentioned this to the owner who said he picked it up today? Sorry this was not fresh bread infact it seemed like bread out of the freezer. The prawns were nothing special either. I have been a housewife for 60 years so I know when I eat fresh bread!

Also, the service was really friendly and efficient! Our waitress (Sarah) was especially lovely! Will visit again soon.

One of the best meals out for a long time. The quality and presentation of food was first class. Five of us shared fish platter and baked camembert starter and there was plenty to go round. My son and father in law who knows fine dining had the pork chop which they said melted in the mouth. I had braised steak which was delicious, my wife had fishcakes that came with perfectly cooked poached eggs and my other son had burger both of which they said were

We went for dinner one Friday evening and you have to wait until 6pm before being able to order. We were hungry by this time so ordered one starter and two mains, all of which arrived together! Surely any decent restaurant would serve the starter first or at least ask you if you want it all together (which they didn't). When you are paying a decent price, you expect at least the basic service, we would therefore question ourselves before going back as this is more expensive than your usual pub food, but the service lets it down.

After visiting nearby Baddesley Clinton House, we went to the Navigation for an evening meal. First visit, welcomed and invited to choose a table in the dining room and have a drink until the kitchen opened half an hour later. Promptly at 6 pm the delightful waitress came to take our food order. When the meals came to the table, they were generous portions, beautifully presented and made for very good eating. We were tempted by the puds and not disappointed. Again generous portions. The atmosphere in the dining room was complemented by lovely decor. Had it been a warmer evening we could have made use of a large garden alongside the canal. As it was, we contented ourselves with a table by a window. We will definitely visit again.

We were here for early lunch on a nice Sunny Monday, after a very friendly welcome we chose to share lunch between 3, we had soup-a croquet & a sandwich .... all nicely cooked nicely served - just the job !

Took our grandchildren here for dinner (from our canal boat). Access through to the quiet smart dinning area is across rather uneven flagstones and can be rather restricted by customers standing in the bar area.

Came here with friends for a Sunday dinner. There was about a quarter of the staff members as needed for the amount of people there (I work with food). Huge wait before any interaction from staff - they rushed back and forth around us and other waiting guests, avoiding eye contact. Customer service was poor. Any questions were met with sighs, reluctance and rudeness. The roast dinner was average at best and not worth £15 by any stretch. The one positive was the beautiful setting it was in.

Visited here on a Friday night and my husband and I were the only people in the entire restaurant. The food was very tasty, but the whole meal felt very rushed with no break between starters, mains and desserts. One other couple did arrive during our meal, but the emptiness of the room did make holding conversation a little awkward.

We had the most beautiful Sunday Lunch here last week and of all the pubs that serve Sunday lunch in the area, this is by far the best. The meat is perfectly cooked and the accompaniments plentiful and really well presented. The staff are attentive without being intrusive and the atmosphere calm and welcoming. We returned yesterday for lunch and again the portion size and quality was gorgeous. Highly recommend the fish n chips and cajun cod burger.

Even though the app booking had not been received. They were able to accommodate the five of us. They helped us choose our main course with suggestions. One of our party wanted an individual meal that wasn’t on the menu and they were able to accommodate this with these finished with some lovely lemon cello and enjoy the meal immensely.

Never had a problem, always good service. This was true with the owners at that point. I went in a few months ago, I guessed by the fact that there were quite a few people waiting for food that it was under new management. The wait was about 10 minutes, I think it was a Friday and they were completely unprepared, disorganised and were not communicating with each other like a team should. When one customer finally got his food he said as he was leaving "You've just lost a customer." Subsequent visits, they seemed a little better. Tonight, it was not busy at all. I ordered my food and paid. The dude went back to finishing another customer's order who arrived to pick up about a minute after I did. The customer got her order and left. I expected him to start mine, nope, he grabbed a skewer with meat on out of the thing with the holes and went in to the kitchen and returned with it in a bowl. While this was going on his colleague returned from a delivery and proceeded to grab her drink and something to eat, there was a little bit of conversation, I'm guessing about what he was doing and what I was waiting for. She then asked me did I want sauce and salad on burger? To which I said yes. I had to remind her about the Cheese and she forgot to offer me Salt and Vinegar. But then again so did I. Soon after I got my order and left. I was there for about ten minutes. The dude looked like he was in no hurry at all. He looked over at me at one point I guess to make sure I was still there, and did say it would be another few minutes. They need to be faster, be better organised and prioritise better. Deal with the customers in the shop first, they're your main priority, your bread and butter then deal with the delivery orders. In the time I took them to complete my order a snail could've successfully made it across the road.

Large open space pub with friendly helpful staff. Good menu from light bites, special deals, and traditional pub fare. Big benefit in Warwick is the availibility on site car parking.

I will start by saying that do not normally eat in the pubs attached to premier inns, the food is nearly always dry and horrible but tonight, well, tonight, it was completely different. Firstly the staff on the floor all very pleasant and helpful , well done to you all. Secondly, to the kitchen staff. The food was perfectly cooked and presented. I can say it was the best mixed grill I have ever had In a pub attached to a hotel. Dan, Craig and Tom, really well done lads. You did the chain proud this evening. I had plans for visiting Asian restaurants this week but you will probably see me again in Thyme before Friday. Well done to all the staff. Ps, the wins were also great. Thanks for a great meal.

The drinks were great and plenty of options - including freshly squeezed orange juice. We were told the kitchen closes at 2 but we were still able to get toasties and some muffins which was lovely and good enough for us. Few staff but we were served with a smile and were brought our food and drinks quickly. Will be returning
