The Racehorse in Warwick

We visited The Racehorse on Friday to celebrate my parents 50 Wedding Anniversary. Organised as a surprise for them, the whole experience was brilliant From making the advanced booking, where understandably advanced food orders were requested, all our needs were taken into account We had a table positioned in the room at the back which provided ample of space for the party of 16. They took note of two individual allergies that my nephews have, making sure they even read out their order was theirs to avoid the wrong child getting the wrong meal. Reasonably priced for the quality of food, and staff were second to none. Thank you to the whole team who were oh that’s evening who looked after us! We will be returning!

Tasteless burgers and, believe it or not, equally tasteless chips. This was a big disappointment because I had been there before two years ago, and the fish and chips had been excellent. One other thing: The website says Sunday hours terminate at 9. But no; the restaurant actually closed at 8.

Good local pub this. The food is good quality and good value. A decent range of beers as well and the staff are good, I hope it continues to be a success as there have been a few changes at this pub over the years. The only negative is the bar area is a bit soulless. Harsh overly bright lighting and hard surfaces everywhere, meaning it can be quite noisy and echoey.

Large open space pub with friendly helpful staff. Good menu from light bites, special deals, and traditional pub fare. Big benefit in Warwick is the availibility on site car parking.

We are caravaning nearby and got a takeaway carvery. Staff were welcoming and friendly. The food was stunning!! We come to warwick often so will definitely be back

Nice place and lovely food. Very friendly staff - Tarah, our waitress, was lovely and fun, our kids really loved her and the food of course.

A group of 13 of us came for lunch all the staff were very courteous and helpful and the food was lovely.

We booked a big birthday lunch for our mum at The Racehorse last Saturday. We were a big group of 15 ladies and the customer service was excellent. George was brilliant! The other staff who served us were friendly, accommodating and very efficient too. Thank you for making a memorable celebration for us all. We highly recommend The Racehorse in Warwick.

Carvery on a Sunday is banging! Amazing value for money and the meats are cooked to perfection, good selection of veggies etc.

Lovely local restaurant as I live around the corner. Food was well presented and the staff (Laura) was friendly and polite. There were parties going on and staff had their hands full. However, the lady Laura came to apologise and explained why the long wait. Great price too. I love This place. See you soon

Beautiful place with really lovely food. I had the steak and stilton,loads of food cooked beautifully,my husband had gammon and equally lovely.will be returning when back in the area.

Our 1st visit here & had a really lovely meal Steak on a stone & 10oz Gammon nice food friendly staff & a lovely environment will definitely come back next time we visit Warwick.

Picked The Racehorce for dinner, and boy, was that a good choice we had George serving us he was amazing truly, and the food was so good as well. We will definitely be back again. 100% recommend if you are looking for a nice meal out.

We had the pleasure of George taking care of us this evening. He was friendly and attentive. My other half chose this place due to my dietary needs and they had a separate vegan menu with puddings! As I can't eat a lot of things, I normally only get maybe 2 choices and no pudding. I had soo many choices it was actually refreshing! The food was great and the service was 5 star. Thank you again (especially to George) for a really amazing dining experience!

Went for lunch on a Saturday. Never visited this pub before. There's masses of parking. This pub is BIG. Service was prompt and efficient. The four of us had various drinks and a main course and dessert each. The food was fine- no complaints. The bill came to about £90.00, which I thought very reasonable. If we're nearby in the future, we'll definitely visit again.

Rushed the food and forgot items that went with it, also it's either over cooked or under cooked. The meat was tough, and the chips had a funny taste. We came here once a week for the steak, but now we go else where as this pub is going down hill. Such a shame. My opinion avoid this pub and find somewhere more decent.

Had their 2 for 16 lunch time deal which was very good value and a decent portion size. Has a separate gluten free menu with decent amount of options and separate fryer for chips. Staff were very nice and friendly.

Went for lunch. My partner and myself had small fish and chips, followed by a crumble. All told, the bill for 4 people was about £90- very good value.

On arrival had to ask for table to be wiped one meal OK other cold and debatable wether it met the description never asked if everything was OK been several times before seems as if staff have too much to do or lost interest

Excellent food and service, clean and good atmosphere. Great beer choice, outside tables, restaurant, and bar. Plenty of parking. Had a good time with family. Really recommend.

Delicious lunch and great service. Excellent menus, including a children's menu and a full vegan menu. The vegan Wellington with mash, broccoli, peas, and red wine gravy was superb.

Came for a wedding reception and can’t fault the staff, they bent over backwards for all guests and overall the day was so good. Vee was always around helping out everyone and just simply great, jess on the food service was spot on, so professional and great service while running the carvery. Thank you Racehorse staff :)

Very good food at reasonable prices which was served promptly. Plenty of space to park. Conservatory and outdoor seating area to the front made for a light and airy experience.

Had an amazing time at the Racehorse today, I was up from Wales visiting family and we decided to come out for a meal, I can't fault the place at all, Vee our server was absolutely amazing, she made the experience that bit better. We'll definitely be coming here for meals in the future

Very nice venue caters for a variety of meals, we came for the cavery the food was good but the waitres that was serving us was very polite funy and knowledgeable.

Read the place was inviting, but upon dropping off there seemed to be zero interest in trying to get a table for us. The hostess didn’t even bother telling us how much we would need to wait for a table and seemed unhappy to be there.

Staying in the area for a long weekend, thought we’d give this place a try, and it didn’t disappoint! Was easy to book a table and there was plenty of tables inside and outside. Good menu and nice food served by friendly and welcoming staff, prices were very reasonable.

This was the first time I had been to The Racehorse as it was a surprise birthday party for a friend.I was very impressed with Vee and he made the evening so special that I am looking forward to when I can come back.Highly recommend.🤩

Excellent food reasonably priced

Very friendly staff and management,all of whom are welcoming and cheerful especially with it reverting back to the Racehorse 🐎As per usual the staff and management are very helpful and friendly 😃very comfortable seating can usually be found indoors or outside.👍 The meal was very tasty and there was a good selection of vegetables to go with the meats😋, I revisited the pub and the staff were all still very helpful and polite and service was great. Still a welcoming reception from the staff and management who were all most courteous and helpful with service the food was very good. As per usual I was welcomed by smiling and courteous staff who served me promptly 👍👍😁😁.

Found it via “justoffjunction.co.uk”. Great place to stop for lunch as an approx halfway point on a long drive.

My family and i came in on Saturday (10th August) we were a group of 6 and came in around 4 o'clock so it wasnt too busy. The food was good and the place was nice but it was the staff that made our visit excellent. Our server Vee was helpful, attentive and had a great sense of humour she was happy to joke about with both the adults and the kids when her duties allowed. She is a credit to you guys and we feel she went the extra mile for our family. If I'm ever back in Warwick I will definitely visit again and would be more than happy to recommend to friends and family.

Good food and service. Went with family from the USA and they really enjoyed it. Would recommend anyone going to Warwick and the Castle to try it.

Came for a drink just before 8 and got turned away as they’d stop serving drinks and food. Such a shame as heard lovely things. Even worse, there were multiple people sitting down with said food and drinks.

After spending a day at Warwick Castle, this was exactly what we needed! Faultless food, brilliant service, perfect for youngsters and all at a decent price. If you're staying at the Knights Village, then this place is a superior alternative for dinner and drinks within walking distance.

Had the beef brisket soft tacos and OMG they were amazing! Will definitely be coming back for Taco Tuesday. Decent portion and reasonably priced (which seems to be a rarity for Warwick nowadays!).

We booked the racehorse for a private event for our daughter’s 5th birthday in the lovely conservatory at the racehorse. The service was fantastic from booking through to the day. They were so flexible in amending the menu to cater for the 5 year olds, supplying in yoghurts etc. on the day they were even so kind as to lend us cellotape to hang up our decorations. Would 100% recommend.

Driven past many times but never been in till recently. Very friendly staff, Guiness well kept and poured. Food I had was delicious and good portion size. Nice outdoor area.

A pleasant lunch time break. Only had starters and a pudding but both were tasty and good value. Good choice on the menu and they also do a 2 for £16 menu during the week at lunchtimes which I have had before. Good sized car park. All in all an enjoyable experience which we will repeat in the future

We were staying in the area for the weekend and came across this place purely by accident. We are pleased we did and if you look at my reviews we can be hugely critical! We arrived to a very warm welcome and that is a massive differentiator in our book! The service was brilliant, choice of ale excellent and the carvery the best we had. The guy serving us was so funny and made everyone smile. Brilliant job from the ‘smiley’ team. Thank you 😊

2nd visit...popped in one quiet weekday afternoon. Very quiet that afternoon but attentive friendly staff. Good solid pub grub very reasonably priced 2 for £16 from a range of mains. Plentiful parking and nice seating outside. Only minor criticism would be the bar area is a bit tired in terms of furniture but they've got it where it counts.

Well what can I say. 7 of us visted yesterday for father's day. We all had the carvery it was amazing. Service top notch, friendly service, couldn't do enough for us. Food absolutely astounding. Thank you racehorse well will be back.

Really lovely pub. Went in a large group and everyone enjoyed their food. Role cookie dough pudding was especially fabulous!!! Good selection on the menu, although few more vegetarian options would make it perfect but there was a choice which is great. Would recommend visiting this pub and will definitely be back

Quite loud when when not too busy. Lovely helpful staff. Food is quite expensive for what it is. Tried old, faithful fish and chips. The batter was gorgeous, but the fish was soft and mushy.

A lovely meal, great choice of menu, impromptu night with friends as visiting for the weekend so was near to our accomodation, would highly recommend.

Great little pub, the food is great for the value and the prices are cheap compared to other places nowadays, great in the summer as they have a nice outdoor area but it ain't the biggest, great place to go.

Had a party of 40 people so took the room in the back. The food was great and had a good communication with the team but when we got there we’ve been told they won’t serve us drinks and we should take those from the bar. (we still got a few rarely when we saw someone in our room). I don’t think that’s fair for someone that pays one bill for such a big party. If there were 5 separate tables you would have served them the drinks with no other comments so why do you treat with less attention? Would probably discuss this first if we will book again. Revised Review: Been several times since the introduction of new management & refurbishment. What a difference! The staff are more attentive, food has improved massively and the makeover has freshened the feel of the place. A fantastic improvement! Well done guys! 👍

We really enjoyed where we were greeted and seated. The wine was very much too our taste. However, as we queued for our Sunday lunch, we felt uncomfortable as staff had to use an access door where we were queuing and accessing a cupboard. Sadly, whilst the portions were generous, the food looked as it had been stood for some time, with flat and cold yorkshires. Some vegetables had dropped into other containers, and it looked and tasted unappetising. It's a shame we wanted to enjoy it, but I wouldn't return for Sunday lunch after our experience.

My wife and I have been to Warwick and Stratford many times but never visited this pub, the hotel that we were staying at was very busy and could not eat there, so we drove to Warwick and discovered this gem. As soon as we walked in, we had a nice warm welcome. And it turned out to be a pleasant experience with lovely food and great service and we look foreword to going back. Many thanks for all of your hard work keeping people happy. 😊

With the patio door open, I could smell the people smoking. The drinks were good, the food was just fine ♿ Mother has a rollator. Couldn't find the accessible entrance easily, but I guess the have one around the back or around the corner, or something

Unplanned visit on our way home from a holiday & thought we would stop somewhere to save cooking when we got home. Fully booked inside but was a beautiful day & there were free tables in both front outside area & back garden. Shade at the front was our choice. Husband had the carvery, beef & ham, although he could also have had turkey. Really nice choice of sides, which included (but wasn't limited to) roast & dauphinoise potatoes, roast parsnips, roast carrot, cauliflower & broccoli cheese. A friend had the chicken dish - can't remember what it was called but was a version of Hunters chicken, which came with fries & slaw. Hunters chicken being a firm favourite with him, he knows how he likes it & this one, he liked very much. Myself & vegetarian friend had the mushroom & Stilton starter which can with toasted Ciabatta & shared some chips - delicious. Try dipping the chips into that Stilton sauce & it takes it to another level. My husband & I shared the lemon meringue tart, which came with sprinkled biscuits & a lemon sauce piped on the plate plus a little dish of cream. Nice but I prefer my lemon really sharp, husband loved it though. Friends shared the Passion fruit & something I can't remember cheesecake, also nicely presented & with a dish of cream. They really enjoyed & finished it off completely. In fact, it was empty plates all round. Service was good - order at the bar, pick up your cutlery etc & then food is brought, with a smile, to your table. All you need to remember, is your table number. Would go back & happily recommend.

Amazing food, huge portions, great friendly staff good prices

Just arrived home after a meal this evening. Visiting my mother so haven’t eaten out in Warwick for a long time. Staff attending to us were lovely, Vee (?sp) was excellent, very polite and attentive. Food was swift to arrive and really tasty, we were too busy tucking in to get pictures. Wine was perfect temperature and the food arrived quickly. Leftover garlic chicken was boxed for us to take home as it was too much to eat and way too good to leave. Overall a delightful meal out, with very high praise for Vee (again, apologies as not sure on spelling).

Excellent service, food was outstanding, management made us welcome and was very friendly, will definitely be back soon. This was our 2nd time and not been disappointed. Highly recommend. Great food, friendly staff.and great value for money. And a brilliant atmosphere, Keep up the hard work. Your all amazing.

Very nice place..we pop in on Saturday evening without booking the table. It was really busy, but we got the table. Food has been served very quickly and food was so tasty. Staff very friendly and helpful.

1st time visiting, popped in on our way back from London. The staff were fantastic and the food was amazing. Their gluten free menu was also lovely. Can’t praise this place enough

Really the Sunday Roast carvery much loved & satisfying meal with family & friends ...thank you V & Laura for making a Birthday really special at the Race Horse Pub & restaurant ..love your welcoming atmosphere... The decor is very Modern & Bright good on your eyes & welcoming .. there's a nice really warm atmosphere the staff are very polite & helpful especially V.. The menu is good vegetarian options Me & my friend love Jacket potatos in prawn & marirose sauce would be wonderful if they interduced to their menus The food is really great value for your money 💰 thank you.. Without doubt, the finest carvery I have ever visited. The visit started with a phone call on a Sunday afternoon. I asked if there were any tables available. The manager replied 'Come on over mate, we will get you seated'. Perfect, no waffle or bluffing, just a honest straight talking man. The Carvery was utterly first rate. We made a slight mistake in having the large carvery. I suspect, you would need to be a serious professional eater to devour that one. It certainly defeated the wife and I. The amount of meat was incredible and so well cooked. Before I had even tasted any of it, I decided that I had to return one day with the in laws. The staff are hard working and friendly. Loads of them, so service is first rate. I am struggling to think of anything negative about the Racehorse and fully intend to return. Visit, Sunday 14th April, 1pm.

First time and had a great meal. Went for the midweek carvery. Food was excellent. There wasn’t a great deal of meat left (7.15pm booking) so I would suggest getting there earlier, but it didn’t detract from the fact we were very pleased with the quality. Staff were excellent. Will definitely be back very soon.

Booked a table for my mums birthday. Food was lovely and the staff were brilliant will definatly be returning again 😋 was even better for my Aunty who is gluten free and had so much choice on the menu 😀

Was disappointed when we visited on 3rd March with family to celebrate my partner's birthday but I was asked to give them another chance, therefore we visited again Easter Day with another couple. Wasn't rushed this time and grate service. The carvery was much improved with proper crispy roast potatoes rather than frozen, the gravy was flavoured with herbs and the cauliflower and broccoli cheese was more cheesy than gloopy. You've upped the mark racehorse and all four of us enjoyed the meal very much. Good value for money 😁

I booked for 22 people for a work event. We did a pre-order which went really smoothly. Lovely staff and great food. There were lots of options (even for veggies like me). The portions were generous and lots of people have said to me afterwards that they would like to go back. Very happy customers - thank you!

Wanted to review this place as it looks like under new management and they deserve a better rating! We had a large family meal here Easter Sunday. The decor is fresh and inviting, the food is standard pub grub but nicely done and good value. The service deserves a shout out though - friendly and efficient all round. Special thanks to V who served our table - they made an effort to find suitable food for our allergic child down to checking the may contains in the ingredients. It’s great to feel reassured and have no hassle when you have different food needs. Thanks V.

Easy disabled access, all staff polite, friendly and welcoming. Delicious carvery with plenty of choice. Highly recommended.

Carvery at 6.00pm. Had heard positive things about the carvery , but was underwhelming. The dauphinois potatoes were sloppy and cold, the ‘cauliflower and broccoli’ cheese contained no discernible pieces of vegetables, just a wet mess, ( previous diners must have taken the veg and left the sauce !) the baked leeks contained mainly green parts of the leeks which were bitter and again a sloppy mess. Roast potatoes appeared to be frozen ones, carrots and sweetcorn ( unusual with a roast) lukewarm, green beans were ok. Small portion of meat , turkey was dry and served in lumps . Overall the cooking and serving of the vegetables was dire. Won’t be in a rush to return, unless they up their game and sort out the issues.

Nice restaurant very good food, friendly staff

We booked at table here on Thursday before Easter. We had a table for 5. 4 Adults and a 12 year old. We were met by Omar. What a character he is full of banter which was given and taken as it was meant. He is a worker and great for front of house with his charm and jovial manner. The meal was lovely with everyone commenting how nice it was. Deserts were also fabulous and we were even given something not on the menu a true testament to Omar for going above and beyond. We haven’t visited this place in such a long time but will definitely be going back. Thank you.

Pretty good overall. Plenty of parking. The food is good rather than exceptional - but then this is essentially pub grub. Service however was excellent on our visit, the staff professional and friendly even under pressure at a busy time.

Food good, but wasn't asked about allergies and found by watching other diners that some dishes contain cheese that was not mentioned on the menu.
