Never been before but visiting the area decided to have an evening meal . We arrived to find a hen party going on and football as well the noise was horrendous. Nearly walked out but we decided to stay thinking it would be ok once in the dining area . As we had a dog we were sat at a table in the bar amongst the racket. The menu had a poor choice no special board only a miserable list of Pie or burger or Scampi which was poor quality needless to say we didn't finish it we paid up and left as quickly as possible. Never again 😒

I expect the ice cream to be expensive in a place like this and the cafe had run out of many flavours of ice cream and Magnums. This we can put up with - but we were served by a sullen youth/boy in a grey hoody (why does he need to have his hood up on one of the hottest days of the year whilst serving customers, so that we could not understand his mumbling reply to a friendly question?) and who did not even know the words Please and Thankyou. Our rambling club will not be returning to Pollys

Food and service were pleasant enough, but this is not a two rosette restaurant. The AA person must have been on something when they rated this restaurant. The restaurant is basically a corridor for members of staff and the public, they just wander through it's laughable, at one point the manager walked through with an iron and an ironing board under his arm!

Went for drink. Had to find staff. Absolutely useless. Waited 20 minutes to be served after the lad served one other couple 2 coffees. Never seen a slower human being. This place will close down very soon. Absolute garbage.

Last time I was here it was a good country pub with good food. It's now up for sale by Marstons. The only food on offer is soup or sandwich. The village seems to be dying and it's a shame the pub is on hard times-hope it gets sold to a good operator

What a fantastic little place, we arrived as a group of 8 covered in mud and starving and received a warm welcome. Cosy fire, super friendly staff (landlord cheerily taught my 6 year old son how to pour a pint) and vast menu. As a food teacher I’m a harsh critic but but the lasagne was one of the best I’ve ever had! Also highly recommend the fish pie and fish finger bap…we will absolutely come again - 10/10! Many thanks xxx

Poor meal, overcooked and dry chicken, supposed to be filled with brie but it was so overcooked the cheese had all but disappeared! Roast potatoes were rock hard and veg was tasteless! Certainly cant recommend eating at this place. On a lighter note the pub was nice and warm and the staff quite good.

Lovely afternoon tea, sandwiches were really fresh and good choice of cakes too. Had a Buyagift voucher to use and chose the Dog and Partridge as it was on our way back from a long weekend in the Peak District. Staff very friendly and welcoming too.
