The Red Lion Inn in Staffordshire Moorlands

Arrived thirsty at 15.30 on a hot Friday afternoon only to find 15 people waiting for the pub to open. After one guy knocked on the door we were told this pub does not open till 16.00 and the door closed again 🤔😳. Half the people moved on to find somewhere else to buy a pint

Lovely community pub with good beers and very good food at a fair price, good portions, fresh veg and nice specials. Don’t be put off be the car park area - will visit again.

Amazing Sunday Lunch in a stunning location. Really good atmosphere and very welcoming - make sure you try the desserts too - the cheesecake was divine!

Called after a walk in the area , the beef bap , roasted potatoes and Yorkshire pudding were yummy . Definitely can’t wait for our next visit.

Surprisingly good food, excellent service and good atmosphere. A little off the beaten track, but the surrounding views are astounding.

There not much to say. A warm welcome, excellent service, lovely beer. The bass beef is particularly good, but fir those needing to nap read they do a mean larger shandy.

Visited as a family of 4 on Thursday Steak night and we were made most welcome by the host. Great steaks and service and would certainly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

Group of 6 in for Sunday lunch. Warm friendly welcome by staff and locals. Roast dinner to die for. Great value for money. Beer really great. Stayed to watch football. At 6 o'clock free buffet came out, roast potatoes. Outstanding. Would recommend to everyone. Thank you all for a wonderful afternoon

As a couple we both run different pubs so are very critical. WOW, this is a lovely pub. I went to the ladies and came out for once praising the toilets. They were clean, well equipped for ladies (think you’ll know what I’m talking about) and all in all nice. Natalie (think that’s her name) was so friendly, didn’t seem forced at all which is refreshing. The locals were welcoming and in a rural pub like the red lion you don’t always get that. We had our dog Merlot with us and she settled quickly which isn’t like her. All in all, it’s a pub, I wish was my local.

Found this spot whilst out cycling in the area , fitted us in for Sunday lunch , staff very welcoming and friendly , lovely food , excellent portions , great ambiance to the place , would return.

We visited here when visiting over the weekend, the staff were really welcoming and friendly and ensured we had a relaxed and enjoyable time here. The food was also perfect. We came with our puppy and the pub was well catered for dogs! We’d definitely recommend and love to come again!

Tend to drink here rather than eat being local. A small 'backwater' pub but beautiful surroundings and good selection of beers and wines for such a small place. Attracts a lot of walkers and caravanners..good pub food... always good company often with ponies tethered outside.

Edit Post My daughter and I ate here last night. Staff were friendly and food was delicious and excellent value for money. Much needed after a full day at the wildlife park. What I loved was that my daughter's rather obscure request for dragon icecream...

We would definitely recommend. The food was very nice, I had lasagna and my partner hunters chicken. We both enjoyed the food and the portion sizes was very good. The staff were helpful and friendly.

Easy to book. Meal (vegetarian roast) was delicious but huge. (mushrooms in creamy sauce in filo pastry) Very friendly (even disposed of my dog's poo bag for me). Visited during covid-19 felt very safe shame weren't open for lunch times as would have visited more....

Fantastic gem of a place. We invaded with huge groups plus kids and they couldn't have treated us better. Food was amazing, reasonably priced and staff just so friendly and accommodating. Definitely recommend

Found this pub whilst on holiday in the area the food is reasonably priced and very good with large portions. The staff are friendly and welcoming, highly recommend.

We had a lovely meal here, I had chicken and mushroom pie and Hubby had hunters chicken both delicious. We both had homemade cheesecake for dessert. We may return later in the week.

Accommodated a large group with hot buffet style food, which was lovely. We were made to feel really welcome, so much in fact that we went back the following evening just for drinks and would recommend to anyone in the area.

I visited here yesterday after it was highly recommended by many for its delicious food since being taken over recently. We weren’t disappointed at all! It’s a lovely pub in a beautiful location and the food was excellent! We will definitely be returning very soon!

Visited last night for a family meal, food was brilliant, home made chips, the pie was delicious and the steak was spot on. The staff were really friendly and worked so hard for a pub full of diners on a weekday night. Well done all!...

We were staying just up the road, and had seen recommendations for this pub in the welcome pack of the cottage we had rented. We visited for dinner and it was some of the best pub food we have had in a very long time - and very generous portions too! I would advise anybody passing the area to take the small diversion from the main road to visit

La camarera mi bebidas orden equivocada (aprecio que la gente haga errores corregidos cortésmente a ella) pero aparentemente esto era una molestia para ella como ella sighed chistaba( y bebidas antes de darme la correcta. . Pedimos un bowl. de patatas fritas para compartir con nuestras bebidas y gracias a Dios que era todo lo que pedimos! Si no tienes fichas ¿qué puede hacer? Nuestras fichas estaban hirviendo, pero raw (que debe tomar algunas habilidades . . Y no desde la zona de suerte que no regresaremos por 2 ronda

El Red Lion en cascada Village se ha movido muy cerca de la parte superior de mi lista de favoritos. Llevé a la familia (8) allí para comer el domingo. Servicio amable, la comida muy buena y abundante, una cerveza a un precio muy razonable. No se puede pedir un mejor entorno en un pueblo encantador. No puedo recomendar lo suficiente. El único problema que tengo es que está a 35 millas de donde yo vivo. Los asientos son limitados, así que es aconsejable reservar.
