La Villa Verde in Staffordshire Moorlands

Stopped here looking for somewhere to eat mid journey home. Great authentic Italian restaurant. Excellent food and service. Amazing Calzone! A lovely place to spend an evening.

Service was pleasant but we occasionally had to wait to get noticed when needing desert or another drink as staff numbers were few (possibly someone ill or on holiday so nothing that would put me off going back. The main dishes were good portions and flavoursome and we both enjoyed what we chose but the desert, the tiramisu, came with caramel sauce drizzled all over it which was far too sweet and completely ruined the dish for me ( I left even though I love tiramisu). Sadly that spoilt the meal for me and I would suggest they offer the sauce as an additional option rather than adding it automatically. That said - would I recommend going? Yes. Everyone has different tastes and maybe you like caramel sauce on your tiramisu and overall it was a nice meal. !

We were denied entry without reservation and we were told that the next availability will be 3 hours later when there was one in next 10 mins. Then when we booked online we were allowed to come, which was weird. It felt as if they didn’t want us to come.

I would rate them 0 if I could because the staff of this restaurant still lives in the 18th century. Because they told us that they had no availability when all their tables were empty and their online reservations were unbooked. Or probably they are too rich to run a restaurant I guess and get some fun out of saying no to business.

Didnt let people in because of us being indians. Should be ashamed of themselves to be running such a resturant

The restaurant turned us away stating that the restaurant needed a reservation online, and stated that the next available reservation was available at 8 pm. The reservation was available online on all their websites and on call, the restaurant was empty as well. We specifically travelled for food here and were denied. Unbelievable!

Visted on 6/8/24 The gentleman that served us yesterday was extremely professional and attentive and should be recognised for his effort. Constructive criticism would be to invest in some garnish for your cocktails, especially your "signature" range. At that price point they should look, as well as taste good. Flawless evening.

The restaurant was beautiful and considered one of the best Italian restaurants in the area. The employee Megan’s treatment was more than wonderful. We will remember her for her good behavior. We ordered penne arrabbiata and a vegetable pizza and the food was delicious.

The most amazing meal we've had in a long time! Lots to choose from and everything we had was fantastic! Service was great and it is beautiful inside. 100% recommend it! We were down for a stay in Alton Towers but wanted away from the loud and busy restaurants on site and we are so glad we did, it was £20 more expensive but worth every penny. Will definitely be back next time we are down this way!

Delivery bye Uber eats was ok but we were missing a meal, rang to say we were missing a meal ,whoever answered the phone gave the attitude of not caring at all

We came on a recommendation from my sister and waited two hours for our food, in that time no one came to us to apologies about the wait , we had to ask before they apologised with a free bottle of wine but this was a bit to late, and a member of staff was rude to us and made out it was because it’s a Saturday evening, this was a joke you are a restaurant and should cater for how many tables you have, some of your staff need a lesson in manners when serving the public.

Fantastic place for a get together or intimate evening. Staff are amazingly helpful and welcoming.

It was our anniversary, so we went with family. Never been before. The food was just delicious. Service spot on. My only gripe was the music was a little loud and very fast which we know makes people eat quicker! It slowed down toward the end of the evening. We will definitely go again though. The cocktail drinks were 1st class, Negroni, Espresso Martini's & Whiskey Sour just the best.

Lovely restaurant, doesn’t look much from the outside but inside is great. Waiting staff very attentive, knowledgeable, and all had big smiles! The food was beautiful. I asked for a macchiato - I couldn't see it on the menu - they were very accommodating, and it was delicious 🙂

Excellent meal. Burrata and Pollo Principessa were truly delicious. Bit disappointed our birthday boy was brought the wrong starter and the staff didn't know if cannoli contained peanuts which I wanted for dessert. Looking it up there are no peanuts in cannoli or the cheese/cream dressing normally so I could have enjoyed it. Pity. We would go again.

We have tried a few local Italian restaurants but this is by far the best. It has a lovely menu, lots of choice and every dish we have chosen was excellent 👍 The staff are very attentive and the atmosphere is great 10 out of 10 from us.

Discovered the place by chance . Mentioned it to a friend who told me that he had heard some good things about it . So I booked a table for four . Service was attentive, staff very good and the food looked authentic. They don't use cream in the carbonara, which to me is always a good sign ! We had a good evening , I liked the atmosphere of the place as well . If we take away the drinks, we paid around £32 for a 3 course meal which I find pretty decent . I would not hesitate to go back, there are a few other things on the menu I'd like to try

First time dining here, service was extremely friendly and helpful throughout. I myself have a dairy allergy, chefs and waiter were extremely helpful when discussing dairy free options. Very busy due to it being a Saturday night meaning service was a little slow but plenty more time to drink! Great atmosphere and food was beautiful and reasonably priced - would 10/10 recommend. We will definitely visit again!

Lovely meal, staff v pleasant, but we were left standing prior to the meal by the bar. We were about 5mins early for our booking and it wld be nice to have a seating area before gng to the table. It took over an hour after gng to the table for our meals to be served. Overall a gd time, but long wait for table and meals.

Absolutely fantastic restaurant. Outstanding food, and wonderful cocktails too. The service was expert, and knowledgeable and the recommendations were spot on. Can't wait for our next visit, as the menu was fantastic, and I want to try some more of the cuisine on offer.

Food was very good, great portion sizes and super tasty, a very hoke cooked feel to it. Atmosphere was very welcoming and service was very quick. A very homely feel to the place, relaxed and friendly. A few minor points were I was sat facing the log burner which made my eyes sting (maybe that's a me problem though) And that my wife's strawberry daiquiri was very strong alcohol wise, some people may prefer that I don't know, like I said very minor points. We had three courses each and the bill was very pocket friendly.

Food OK, nothing special. No atmosphere. Waitress had a large tear in the back of tights..I quietly informed her she said she already knew and was happy to keep them on. Staff were almost invisible.... it was a case of...if you see someone first, give them a shout......unfortunately not as we'd hoped. Also, we were never asked if anyone had allergies ...despite that, I automatically informed them that one of usI have an allergy

Lovely new years eve. One of the best fillet steaks I've had and the blue cheese sauce was beautiful. Would of given 5 stars if the scallop starter was pushed to 3 scallops I had 2 very small ones. The desert finished it nicely. Thank you 😊

I recently marked this all as 5star and couldn't wait for my second visit. What a disappointing service we receive. We booked a table for 6 people' arriving 15 mins early and could not get parking that we actually thought we were going to have to leave. Eventually parked across the road (not ideal). When we arrived, our table wasn't ready. We didn't mind waiting. All of a sudden, they announced we could sit at a table for 4 and out 2 extra sears at the end. This was disgraceful ' this would mean I person pushed against a wall and the other blocking people from getting out of their seats and been pushed up against their table. We said we would have a drink at that table but would not be eating our food. We ordered drinks and an appreizer ready for when we moved tables, so we weren't waiting too long' only for them to deliver this to our drinks table. They delivered all drinks except one and we had to ask for this only for the girl to day she had forgotten. Our friend got very upset as this was a special occasion as we hadn't seen each other in a very long time. Eventually, they got moved after our insitance and had our mains' The food was amazing But unfortunately, we received an apology, which was more because the poor girl felt embarrassed and didn't know what to say or do.. no management came out to apologise to help ease the tension that was building. Found out our table was given away to someone who just walked in. They should have been made to wait to see if we turned up because clearly they would not have eaten in 15 mins. Extremely disappointed 😞

Excellent food and service food was fresh and on time. my little girl really enjoyed the food as well and the staff specially was very engaging. A great find close to stafford! Definitely a must visit for food and cocktails !!

Lovely restaurant. Fantastic wood burner in the middle of the restaurant so nice and cosy. Very good choice of food the king prawn linguine wasn't skimpy on the prawns either. Would highly recommend. One downside some tables are a bit too close together.

Not sure about the review I just read saying reasonable priced drinks 6 quid a pint beer is cheaper in London but this is draycott, food is freshly cooked I went for linguine fruiti di marre (garlic muscles pasta more garlic then more garlic) it was OK but could still taste it 2 days later, we all liked our food but not excited about it.the bread and olives should be called pot of olives with a hint of bread. Wouldn't rush back as it was £130 just to pop out for a hour.

We hadn't booked, but we just felt like having an Italian meal. We managed to get a table as we were early and were not disappointed. A treat as with most Italian restaurants not cheap but we had a wonderful meal, starters very good, we both had the Spaghetti Carbonara for our main course and that was beautiful. The only criticism is the low step as you approach the reception desk and another step down into the area on the left dining area. Just a small thing and the experience on the whole was great.

food was excellent,despite a mix up on orders which resulted in one of our party being served their main, as everyone else was nearly finished. the waiter was definitely having a bad day. despite this I would go again.

Very warm, no A/C food was ok nothing too exciting to be fair , drinks overpriced I think especially the wine .. and 10% service charge !most restaurants that have service charge have waiters pouring wine into your glass at every opportunity not here I’m afraid so it’s Ridiculous to have a 10% service..especially when you are a large party (£65 in our case) We are not in Manchester, London or even a major high street.. I always like to tip based on the service I experience.. not for the establishment to decide i pay 10 % ! I think they should be encouraging for custom considering the location ,not putting customers off with extortionate prices .. don’t think I would chose to go there again ..

Fantastic food, amazing steaks. Resturant was full so you know the food will be great. Had to wait longer for the food than I would of liked. (Disclaimer the waiter did say it might take longer than usual due to how busy they were.) However when the food came it was worth the wait. Ran out of mint so my wife couldn't have the cocktail of her choice, but the replacement was very nice. No children's menu so paid for a fillet steak meal for a 7 year old but he did love it and almost finished it. Highly recommend, will go back. We had a lovely meal and family time.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted warmly by the staff. The menu offered a variety of delicious dishes, and the drinks menu was equally satisfying. My linguine frutti di mare was amazing, highly recommend. The service was impeccable. They where prompt, friendly, and attentive without being intrusive. The overall dining experience left me wanting to come back again!

Friendly and attentive staff. Reasonably priced drinks, I can recommend the cocktails, very well balanced and smooth. Also well priced food and which is good quality, made with fresh ingredients. It has a good atmosphere, able to have a conversation without hearing everyone else even the tables are close. The interior could do with a bit more decor, the walls look a bit bare.

Went on Saturday afternoon and were the only people in. Major roadworks on the A50 didn't help. Food and service was excellent. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food expensive drinks but worth a visit

We found this place off chance when looking for lunch. It’s absolutely amazing, the food was divine, service was perfect and the interior decor is very comfortable. This is definitely a gem in Stoke on Trent.

Not worth the price. We went as a group of 8. The evening was very warm and there is no air conditioning, to charge the prices here there should be air con. The food was ok but nothing amazing. The staff were pretty abrupt which didn't lend itself to a nice atmosphere.

It’s lost it’s 4 star ⭐️ rating as people could park so ridiculous on the car park. If there isn’t a space on car park ,park somewhere else. Then people parked on the pavement right outside the car park entrance and it was so dangerous to pull out of! We nearly had a crash 😡 Food was good , staff were lovely, just watch the two little steps just as you go in to the place . We saw several people not realising they were there and tripped over . . Atmosphere ok . Ladies toilet just one catering for disabled and changing room for babies. When we were completing our food and people arrived for there meals and there was no where for them to go . Just watch us eat and drink . Menu ok a few things on there . They do cocktails. Bottle of wine was £24 . I wouldn’t go on a Saturday and would get a taxi next time . It hasn’t been open for long and I’m sure things will improve. Yes I would go back maybe as a treat in the week. Price person £40 average

Excellent. The food was very good but the service was outstanding which made it feel like little Italy. They've done a great job in turning an old pub into a refined dining establishment. We went for a special birthday celebration and it hit the mark - very special day and their singing is exceptional!!😁
