The best restaurants in Loggerheads and Whitmore Newcastle-under-Lyme West Midlands

Fantastic food, atmosphere & service. Good prices & beer choices, really enjoyed our visit. We have a medium and spicy dish and both didn’t disappoint. Possibly the best Thai food I’ve ever had.

I have been visiting for many years and always found breakfast excellent with a choice of small or large English and several alternatives However last Sunday I chose the Small English but asked for a sausage instead of the fried tomato Though all the rest of the Breakfast was good The sausage came badly burned and the skin unable to cut with a knife. so after several attempts to cut it I gave up on it Unfortunately the Staff were all busy elsewhere though not with customer as it was early I mentioned the sausage to the waitress but although offering another sausage - pointless as I had finished . I will in fairness say in all the years I have been a customer -this was the first time I have had an issue Going back to when it was the Whitmore Gallery run by Chell s! I have in the past had many excellent breakfasts often for many years in company with my Son I trust this was an odd oversight and not a trend! In all those years of patronage this is the first occasion of any mistake.

Had a great few hours in the Robin Hood , on what was a miserable day . Good beer great staff, proper fires well worth a visit . Can't wait till next time . Use your local pubs or lose them !!!

My first time here after my daughter recommended the place after she had been. Beautiful and quirky private room with a warm welcome. Menu was interesting with lots to choose from including a lot of game. Starters were out of this world!! Salt and chilli beef strips - absolutely the best thing I have tasted! Honey sausages - beautiful, squid - not my cup of tea but reported to be spot on and everyone enjoyed their starters. Mains again didn’t disappoint. Everyone joked that the fish and chips was the size of a whale! Green curry was the best they had ever had. Steak was beautiful. My main was the burger with smoked cheese. Delicious chutney and chips were delicious. We can’t comment on the puddings as we couldn’t eat another thing!! The staff were so welcoming and kind and I am beyond impressed and will most definitely come back again. Nothing was too much trouble for them and service with a smile. Thank you to everyone. A real gem

Absolutely lovely food, (with enough spare for a portion for someone tomorrow), a five star hygiene rating and friendly staff. What is not to love. Thank you for the little bag of chips “to munch” on the way home - what a lovely idea. Mandalay also does Chinese, pizza and fish and chips so perfect for a family who want different things.

Easy to book. Nicely appointed interior. Warm friendly staff and such a tasty meal prepared with some imagination. We hadn't expected such a great experience tbh so thanks. My steak was superb.

Lovely restaurant with super staff. Excellent meal. Absolutely the best curry that I have ever had. Popadoms and dips very fresh. Delicious Chicken Tikka Korai with pilau rice and garlic naan. Extremely good value for money with wine very reasonably priced. Shall definitely return.

Came in today for a Sunday lunch, and it was amazing and our waitress Layla was an absolute star. So attentive and very helpful. Will be coming back again x

Great choices to tempt any appetite, with a varied selection of cuisine. Everything we tried was delicious with a real attention to detail. The cocktail selection was likewise varied and tempting, and I recommend the zombie rum punch and the limoncello basil martini. It's very close to the Dorothy Clive garden, should the walk make you a bit peckish!

This is our favourite place for coffee and cakes. Emma's cakes are the best and there is always a great selection. The coffee is also excellent with Emma ensuring all of the staff are trained in using the barista machine to perfection. It can be busy at peak time so best to book. Dogs are always very welcome.

Wow this place is not only beautiful it the food is amazing. I believe it has had quite a refurb and the owners have done an amazing job. Staff were so friendly and accommodating, I would highly recommend here to any families or couples

Fantastic place! We were a family group of 13, so we preordered which made things much easier. Communication was speedy and helpful. Everything from the welcome, ambience and excellent service to the delicious food was fantastic and we would highly recommend

We went for the seafood night on Wednesday 12th March. Food was amazing,cooked to perfection, great menu choice and presented beautifully. Great atmosphere,looked after by the lovely staff. Definitely be back soon. Many thanks xx
