I’m loathed to write this review as I don’t want others to visit! This restaurant is a hidden gem. When you visit you will be thrown by the appearance as the restaurant is “bolted on” to a traditional old pub, frequented by local farmers and the like. The restaurant is entered via the pub lounge, this is where the magic begins! Authentic Thai food cooked by the owners Thai wife Pin. She is a genius! For anyone who has visited the far east, you will be taken straight back with the sublime and authentic food. A massive menu, I’ve been here with my wife about 20 times and we’re about 20% through the selection. I recommend the Tom yam soup, green mussels and tempura king prawns……. Be warned some of the sauces are very traditional and spicy, not for the feint hearted. Oh, the music selection is unique too! All 1980’s pop! I urge you to visit (through my gritted teeth!) 😬

Great first Thai experience. Came here when searching local restaurants onto Google. My friend loves Thai food so I said I’d give it a try. Being gluten free I was worried there wouldn’t be much choice but I was wrong :) the server was lovely and explained what I could not eat and helped me choose non spicy curry. I went for the Thai yellow prawn and veg which was delicious. Only issue was that it was huge! Took most home and did 2 more meals alongside the rice. Great portion size for money and tasted fresh. Was a great first Thai meal and would return with friends or family.

Taken here by friends who live locally and recommended it. It is in a pub setting so had drinks in the bar first, then went into the dining room at the back to eat. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive and the food was absolutely beautiful. Pin, the chef/ owner came out to us at the end to ask how our meal was, which was a nice touch. A thoroughly enjoyable and comfortable evening spent with friends with great food and service.

I’ve been meaning to try Pin’s Kitchen for some time having heard good reports. As our wedding anniversary fell on a “Eat out to help out” night our normal venues were all booked out. So the perfect opportunity to try something new. We arrived 45 mins early but were accommodated no problem. The menu takes some reading as there is plenty of choice. With some assistance from the very helpful staff we made our choice. A cold beef salad, red curry and prawn stir fry. All were delicious and tasted very fresh.

The staff and service from the moment of walking into the Robin Hood was friendly, warm which made it excellent. The rice was really nice, However the tempura prawns had heavy batter on them similar to chip shop batter, a shame as the prawns themselves were really good, this was not tempura battered prawns, very heavy very greasy. The spring roles weren't to tasty either. The stir fry beef and pork were greasy, but tasty. The best was the chicken Larhb very nice. The whole meal was not as authentic as we have had elsewhere.

Following a recommendation on the food, I visited Pin's Kitchen on Friday for a birthday meal. The food certainly did not disappoint. The pub is quaint and has a certain eclectic charm. The thing that let it down was the time it took for the food to arrive. Poor Pin appears to be stretched and could really do with some help in the kitchen. Also, if comparing to other Thai restaurants, a better description of ingredients used in the menu would help with choosing what to have. With the current menu it is difficult to distinguish between flavours. That said, I would go again.

Despite its rural location the food and service was second to none. The atmosphere was snug and homely although the beer and cordial which my wife ordered [per pint] was a rip off. The food itself was like home cooked Thai food not a far cry from the real Thai food we ate in Chertalay and Pi Pi Islands. It was comparable to the food in Chertalay in Phuket. It is a family run business having established a reputation of some twenty years mostly by word of mouth. Guess what, the cook, server [her son] and owner are Thai. It is her second marriage. The food is reasonably priced and the flavours exquisite. Like I said, almost like the real thing in Cher Talay and definitely better than the beach food in Bang Tao Beach.

We decided that our monthly curry club visit should branch out a bit, so decided to try Pin's as its our nearest Thai. Very pleasant staff serving in the pub (the restaurant is on the back of the Robin Hood pub in Ashley. Decent pint of Joules to start off with. We were the only people eating for the whole of the Sunday evening, but there was no menu restriction. Being kind hearted guys we opted for the banquet so Pin didn't have to cook a load of different dishes, and we made a good choice. Cracking chicken noodle soup served in a huge tureen for starters, as well as prawn crackers and a good hot chilli dip. Main courses were 4 huge bowls of different currys. Beef, chicken, chilli and mushroom combinations. We ended with another pint each, were very very full and parted with £25 per head which included a bottle of wine. Can't be bad - we will be going back if it stays at that quality.

We had the banquet (£18.00 per person a minimum of 4 people) and beauty of it is that if there is something on the menu that you do not like you can change it for another dish. When ever my wife and I travel around the UK we always seek out Thai restaurants and we have sampled some great food on our travels so, to find such a lovely restaurant on the door step to our home in Shropshire was particularly exciting. Normally Thai restaurants seem to charge a premium for their food which can make a night out for two overly expensive but Pin's Kitchen serves delicious authentic food at very affordable prices. To be able to buy a variety of competitively priced alcoholic drinks including hand pulled beer brewed from a brewery in nearby Market Drayton rather than the standard exorbitantly .priced Thai bottled beers sold elsewhere is another reason why you should make a beeline for The Robin Hood public house at Ashley. Many people have eaten Indian and Chinese but not tasted Thai food. If you havent, book a table at Pin's, you wont regret it, we didnt.

All the items had a number and the 'fried rice' that I ordered as an accompaniment was number 208!!The menu informed that we couldn't smoke in there, but could do so in the bar! Maybe they need to re-write it a little.Once in the restaurant, we were amused by the rather quaint mix of Thai decoration along with traditional English 'country' stuff. The food was nice. It is set behind traditional English pub that is slightly incongruous and when it is a little mety (not often) can lack a little atmosphere. Constructive feedback?.....perhaps a little decor update and expand the covers.
