Food was as always decent grub for good price Mrs drinks ok, terrible pint of Guinness , teach staff how to pour properly it’s a easy fix

Couldn't have a drink as I was driving. Had the large mixed grill. Meal came in a reasonable time, plat was warm good sign, didn't notice that the meal didn't come with eggs, which we have visited at the same group that had. The steak was quite small with 1 side all fat and the other grisaille. My wife said she didn't enjoy as much as the last time we visited. If things improve we will visit again.

The food was fabulous, the pub is looking tired now ,the toilet were clean ,but the bottom of the taps looks horrible and dirty.

It was my 51st birthday and everyone and i do mean everyone was absolutly amazing, i can never fault the staff, food or drinks in that place its always spot on definatly the best sizzling pubs pub ive ever been and will ever go to. Shannon ashley deserves a lot of respect shes a complete star along with the rest of her staff. Thank you also to the chef who did my brownie.

Regularly have The Old Faithful burger (chicken breast doubled up). Always hot, bacon and cheese also on top, nice cheap meal, nice staff.

Stood patiently at the bar as it seemed a young lad was training a young girl .. however we had a table booked we spoke to the young lad twice to be ignored although he was training a new girl he was to busy telling her what to do .. then just did it himself anyway .. I ordered food and 2 drinks .. when back to the table one of the drinks had a crack in the glass, I took it back to the bar to which the lad very closely checked and said he would put the drink into another glass, I said I would prefer a new drink .. what if glass had come away and was in the drink, with this he went to speak to a lady in a grey top, I assume a manger, he said please go sit down and will bring one over to you, the drink was a diet bottle coke no ice with a slice of lemon, the lady bought it over full of ice, so was told it was no ice, she took it away to come back saying she couldn't get all the ice out .. so the drink was contaminated by ice which I particularly didn't like .. a friend with us asked for med rare steak which was rare, it was replaced eventually but by this time she had eaten everything else .. been a long time since I've visited the wulstan and think it will be a long time before I visit again

Arrived with a party of 6, incredibly warm welcome upon arriving. Every member of staff we spoke with were so lovely, my family members enjoyed their food, it was so delicious and we will definitely be back again, one of the nicest restaurants/pubs we have visited. 5 stars.

Went for a meal for husbands birthday and it was amazing. I had a steak with Diane sauce, he had the dip and cluck and little one cheeseburger. Couldn't fault it at all. Service as quick and the food was phenomenal.

Yet another casual evening meal with friends. The food gets better & the SPECIAL PUDDING always goes down a treat. Whether you want a snack meal or a hot meal there is always something to entice the pallet. The Team of staff run by Debbie are all so welcoming & go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. There's no rush to select your meal & the food is always cooked fresh. The clients visiting Wulstan go from strength to strength....this proves all the staff work together as a great team.

Quick, friendly service, there were 13 of us in total and unlike other venues the food came out all at the same time and was excellent, no complaints what so ever.

We used The Wulstan as a meet place for a kids football team as we were going for a run around the marsh. We had planned to go in for a drink and food after as it was opening at 12 when we were finishing off. A vile lady came out telling us to get off the car park it’s private property. I explained we are a kids football team and that we were all local. She didn’t care she said there is no room for customers in which I asked what time they opening as they weren’t opening for another hour and being local I can tell you there was still plenty of spaces for the amount of customers they would be expecting for 12pm. Just a vile rude person who has no thought for the local community. 13 kids and 10 adults they have lost out on our custom as the lady wouldn’t allow us to park there for the hour they were closed. Great business thinking! This was a one off meet.

Went in for New Year’s Eve, amazing night, great atmosphere, and quick and efficient service! With a great performance by the Elvis performer!

We went yesterday (25th/12th) and we had the most amazing christmas dinner ive had for at least the last 4 or 5 years. We couldn't fault anything at all thats why i gave it 5/5.

The food is good value for money; the staff are friendly and welcoming, but unfortunately the toilets are not great as the hand dryers do not work and there is no paper hand towels, so you have to use toilet tissue to wipe your hands. Please note, it is like this on previous visits too

Nice food but i didnt appreciate the black hair that was stuck to my onion rings .. ........reply to your reply no it wasnt haha because i didnt even tell staff you seemed very busy and i didnt want to burden staff with a black hair stuck to my onion ring so i removed the onion ring eoth said hair on from my plate and carried on eating

booked it for my 20th birthday, they gave us our own area and a long table so everyone is together as it was a party of 20. i have nothing to complain about, the drinks are reasonably priced, a gin and lemonade and a Peroni came to £8 which i though was fair, they asked for pre orders just to do the shop and when your there you order separately which made it easier to pay for your own food. the only thing that stopped it being a 10 was we did have to take 1 plate back as the mash was cold but as there was 20 people and there was only 1 wrong plate i feel they did really well. well done all staff on that day from 7pm you did amazing...

Well! another beautiful meal in the Wulstan. The weather was cold outside but the our meal was served in a lovely warm atmosphere. The staff yet again were so welcoming & went out of their way to make our visit one to remember. All the staff were so friendly & the food was absolutely amazing. The Wulstan is my local pub & would totally recommend to anyone. Keep up the good work to all at the Wulstan.

Excellent service all round! Nothing was too much trouble. Personal needs were catered for and adaptations made. The children’s breakfast was a great option and just the right sized portion. Great choice of dishes available at a reasonable price. Staff work extremely hard and make you feel very welcome….

The staff were wonderful and friendly, service was great too. Sadly the food was awful, chewy grisly steak and foul tasting mushrooms. Won't be going again, very disappointing.

Atmosphere was dead when i stopped for a quick pint with the mrs and friend, attitude was average, parking was appalling, but good to stop for a quick pint if passing through.

Came here for a funeral wake Place is dirty daughter dropped something on floor picked it up and carpet was filthy along with table legs not been cleaned in months window sills filthy with dust and dead insects and curtains have holes in them!!! Food splattered on ceiling and walls!!! Staff disorganised and bitching about each other in front of customers and one blonde haired elderly bar person even shouted ‘fu@@ off’ to someone on the car park which has kids and elderly people on it could not believe what I was seeing and hearing like a comedy sketch from phoenix nights in fact more like a 70’s working mens club than a family pub Thank goodness I don’t have to come back to this place Only goodish thing was the food and the locals who were friendly but other than that the place is truly awful

34 people attended my Retirement 13/10/23 The Landlady Deb felt more like a friend addressing all my requirements and requests so that the evening went according to plan communication been key for such a large order All my party were made to feel welcome my request for a meet and greet table with drinks was provided and set out nicely All staff were attentive to our needs questions and requests The meals were very good value tasty and all 34 came out piping hot and on time well done chef and the Wulstan Team headed by the landlady of the year in my opinion I will be returning regularly and my party will be recommending and considering future celebrations here highly recommended thank You all for making my evening special Angie x

Lovely little pub, food is delicious and reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Free drinks with certain meals, 2 for 10.50 meals as well.

very poor meal l had simon the plate was swimming with oil rice very hard chips covered with this cheese dressing ordered a sweet it took them over 45 mins till it came to our table plus the staff just seemed not at all friendle .

A terrible experience with rude staff and awful food . I dont usually review unless a place is outstanding. .. But everything about last nights experience was awful . Customer care zero ..very rude waitress that spoke to us in the most patronising way ... Service zero ...even though there was a family group I ended up eating on my own as everyone had finished by the time my meal came ... Food =worst steak I have ever had ...overcooked ..food stuck to unclean skillet Talking of cleanliness....wipe your feet on the way out ... Will be sharing my opinion with all my friends and family ...I wont be returning....ever .

Fabulous food. Staff not the happiest. I heard them moaning about another member of staff. Another staff member telling someone she works with idiots. Not good. Took my grandaughter to the toilet and to be quite honest the language was disgusting. Never heard so much f ing. Loved our food though so value for money

Nice little stop, it wasn't too busy when we went. Pub grub was ok, for the price you can't really complain - 2 for £11 on selected dishes then with every adult meal kids eat for a £1 between 3-7.

A lively place and a couple of fine pints of Bass, many people enjoying the food and the friendly atmosphere. Will definitely pop in again if I am in the area. A large carpark and plenty of seating in and outside, keep up the good work.

Food disappointing, peas uncooked and hard lasagne over cooked. Garlic bread burnt. When brought to attention of staff the lady was indifferent.

The bar staff are great and the waitresses in the restaurant can’t do enough for you. Great training by the landlady top stuff

Food was ok ,A 50 minute wait for food not ok .If we had been told when ordering that there was a long wait for food that would have made it more acceptable,but we were not the only ones left waiting.Granted the pub was busy but staff should inform customers of long waits ,no apology from staff for the delay when the food finally arrived.Sadly won't be going back in a hurry as this is not the first time this has happened.

Honesty I normally really like it here, the food is cheap enough and most of the staff are friendly. Someone different was on tonight and at first she was doing great handling all the food orders including ours. We ordered through the app for our food and drinks and the first order went great. The second order I made was for dessert and drinks, the dessert came but the drinks took an age to come. We had to ask twice for them. I figured it was annoying for them when we used the app so I went to the bar for our next drinks order, but instead of serving all people standing along the bar, the girl served most of those people except me, then proceeded to serve everyone who joined a line backwards instead. I was already stood there, I’m not going to then join the back of another queue just because you decided to change the queuing rules out of nowhere? After watching her serve a third person who joined after me, we just left. I’ve not had this issue with the other girls who work there. We usually have good service by Karen, Debbie and the Heidi. Was really disappointed today.

I visited the wulstan yesterday with my little boy who has a severe peanut allergy. As a mum this can be a very anxious experience however Heidi was absolutely amazing. She made sure we were happy she explained exactly how it works and just gave us as much of her time to make sure we were all reassured. She made my son feel very comfortable and happy. This member of staff went above and beyond and is a credit to your team. Keep doing what your doing Heidi from a very grateful mum. We will most definitely be back very soon ❤️

I only give 1 star as there is no option to give none. The service was non existent, when main courses finally arrived over an hour after ordering, the waitress agreed that she wouldn’t eat it either when we sent back the food. One meal was burnt to a crisp and the other was soggy fish swimming in grease with brick like excuses for chips. Never again.
