The best restaurants in Nechells Birmingham West Midlands

We stopped for a quick meal before boarding the coach. I ordered the Chicken Whopper because I was told it would come out quickly. The owner is very fun and kind. Since it is a halal restaurant, I saw Muslims exchanging brotherly greetings for the first time here, and it was the first time I was able to see Muslim culture. Although the food is ordinary, the owner's service makes this restaurant special.

Went to try this place out due to the hype (Beardus Burger pop up shop), but sadly it didn't live up to it. The burgers were very small and I even got the biggest triple patty burger. The patties are much smaller than your average (or they seem to be because they are pressed to about 5mm thin). I was looking forward to the potato bun that they rave about, but I prefer. Brioche or standard bun over that. Paid about £15 but could've gone somewhere less popular and had a bigger munch and felt fuller. The smashed potatoes were nice, but I don't feel they went well together, given their dry nature and the potato bun being slightly dry too, there should have been a separate sauce for those to dip. They say make it a "meal" but it's not because if you don't want sauce it's cheaper to get everything separate. They overcharge for the sauce anyway, so it's a bit of a mockery. We had the mixed grill platter and it was quiet good to be honest. Haven't been back since so not sure of consistency overall.

I ordered and made payments soon after canceled and did not return my money I'm trying to call no one answers I want my money back.

I would not recommend to anyone because they are not trustworthy enough..I got mail for my refund but yet not received and its been 3 months since I have been sending mails back to back but no response from them..I will give 0 rating if I could..

Stopped off for a snack on passing by. This place has definitely gown downhill over the last few visits here. Scored low for food and service, atmosphere unfortunately cannot be scored high as the place was pretty much empty. Ordered mixed kebab on naan with a drink £9.60 definitely not good value as compared to other places (probably charged me incorrectly). Doner, naan and salad were acceptable, watery salad on naan left it soggy. The chicken doner was the top layer, though fresh, it meant that it was excessively spicy and had lumps of masala on which I had to remove. This used to be the go-to place for doner/naan for a long time which has really gone down hill. Stay away and go to Hajees further down the road.

The food was good but the sauces need flavouring. The drinks have also changed which is another - everyone using the ice brand 😐🫤

Prior to Saturday 26 February 2022, I made a group booking for 7.30 pm for party of 12 friends. having even spoken to the manager on the night before. On my arrival at 7.15pm - no attempt had been made to set up the table for this party size - they were all set as separate small tables so as our friends were already arriving - and no one was even setting about doing this we did it ourselves. We have used this venue soooo many times but were not aware of a change of hands in recent weeks. How I wish that I had known. No heating, no wood for the open fire, our friends were sitting with their coats on - terribly slow service, no gin for tonic!! only one bottle of house wine, an hour to get poppadums then almost another hour for starters finally getting mains after 10pm. Constant moans to us about how busy and short staffed they were yet they knew they had a party of 12 booked in - never mind any other phone orders or diners - one chef, one so called waiter manager and one taking orders over the phone - even the delivery driver got roped in to bringing food to our table. Most of the food was lovely - bur not so much the ridiculous wait for the food - and after feeling so embarrassed that we had invited friends there we footed the bill in full £350 - but decided to visit again tonight just to discuss politely the poor service - met with a response of 'our food is great - we were busy, and the manager stated that he didn't give a **it about our thoughts on Saturday night!!! - his exact words! We also now know there was a fight there recently regarding poor service and the people did not want to pay the bill!!! Although we would never resort to such - the opinion of the manager tonight was appalling - there is a petrol station opposite which sells tonic and when I suggested that they go and by some to be able to serve Gin and Tonic I was accused of being rude - we even offered to go for them!!! Constant moans on Saturday night regarding the mess the previous owners had left them in - debt etc - not really something you should be sharing with customers and should be focussing on getting it right and building a business. Never again will I visit this restaurant and good luck to anyone who may do! Because remember - the manager in his words - doesn't give a **it!!!

Hands down the dirtiest MacD. Toilets are a disgrace. Diet and dust everywhere. Put a cloth down and clean up.

Been going to this takeaway for years, and its usually really good. But it has recently come under new ownership. I gave it a try for the 1st time today and the food was horrible. Barely edible.
