We stopped for a quick meal before boarding the coach. I ordered the Chicken Whopper because I was told it would come out quickly. The owner is very fun and kind. Since it is a halal restaurant, I saw Muslims exchanging brotherly greetings for the first time here, and it was the first time I was able to see Muslim culture. Although the food is ordinary, the owner's service makes this restaurant special.

Cheap and reliable place to eat while waiting for your coach! I've eaten here a few times and I've always enjoyed it. The kebab is great and the lamb wrap is excellent value for money. The owner and cook is so kind and friendly and I'm always surprised how quickly he can get my order out - nice and hot too :) I tried the combo burger today which has chicken + cheese burger. Tender chicken - super tasty. Will come here again as soon as I get the chance.

The chicken wings and Peri Peri fries seemed to have mistaken themselves for part-time lifeguards in the Dead Sea. If I wanted to experience that much salt, I'd take a dip in the ocean.

The staff were very friendly, it's a shame about the absolute state of the restaurant and the quality of the food.

Smack heads use this place to shoot up. Do not eat here for your safety. Contamination risk very high.

Food fit for the bin. ... we visited yestrtday found the food was terrible. I know its cheap but that doesn't excuse how bad it was.. The man doing the "cooking" was rude to his staff (kids) and customers. He should get a new cook and stay out of the way. . .

Genuinely one of the worst chip places I've eaten at. The food was awful. The sausage incredibly dry, the spring roll incredibly limp and tasteless. I came here because there was nothing open in the coach station and I don't like going to subway as it's a big company and isn't particularly good. I wish I had gone to subway.

Worst chips ever.When you go to a fish and chips you expect freshness..Fries were coked and then heated in hot oil.Taste was awful.Place really dirty and smell horrible.Don’t understand how is it still opened.Charged me 0.5£ more just to add some chilli powder..

The owner of this place is simply the best. He is so kind and generous! The quality-price ratio of the food is also very good.

Ordered a kebab, the fries were pretty good, the sauce kinda flavorless but the meat was really rubbery. I don't know what pasteurized bones that "meat" was made of but it's not from our planet. The man who served us was nice enough and the place isn't really dirty so it could be worse. You could definitely get better food for the same money tho.

The owner of this shop was so lovely! We got caught up in the terrible rain last night going to a gig at the o2. He let us sit in the shop to dry off and even gave us paper towels to dry with. Had already eaten prior to coming out or I'd definitely have eaten there, smelled delicious! Got a drink and happily sat in the dry until queues had died down and we didn't have to wait outside. Even gave us a cheeky little wave as we went past after the gig. Pearl of a guy and will definitely stop there for food when I'm next that way! Thank you for being such a kind man!

Appalled at the quality of the food - I ordered fish & chips. I ordered a large and what I got was burnt crumbs. This would not be classified as a small portion let.,’ alone large. I paid £8.45. Angry and upset by the experience. I mean how dare they??? I’ve paid leas for better quality and more. I honestly would not even RATE THIS A ZERO!

Took my cousin for his first kebab. Due to his illness he never leaves his caravan. He loved it. What a special night for him.

My brother and myself were so happy with our food. We ordered two naan lamb kebab meals and I’ve never had such a nice kebab from anywhere before. The meat was so tasty and the chips were amazing too! The gentleman serving was lovely and went above and beyond for us to have a nice experience. Highly recommend to anyone in Birmingham or visiting to eat here. We will definitely be returning!

Worst fast food I've had in years. Wings were old and dead. Chips old and cold. Burger barely put together. Dunno how they're staying open

We came to the end of a night out and we were a tad hungry. So, we tried finding the nearest kebab shop. The shop was originally closed but the guy behind the counter (who I think is the owner) let us in for a quick takeaway. He was really nice and friendly.

Food took a while and was soggy and mostly gross - good customer service whilst waiting but wont be eating here again

Went in for a chicken shish wrap but was told there was only lamb doner. I said no but he convinced me to have it. After a few bites, there was a load of liquid fat running out of the wrap, down my hand and solidifying on the paper. I mean a lot. Disgusting and dangerously unhealthy. The place was empty for a reason. Avoid.

During the windy cold day, i went to this shop and ordered the meal of chicken and chips with pepsi which cost me 5 pounds, the taste is not bad, if you walk past this shop, it worthwhile to try the meal there.

Terrible food… I ordered fish n chips, and both the fish and the chips were absolutely disgusting with terrible taste.

Probably one of the worst places I have been for chips. Would give zero if there was an option. The guy serving me gave me what looked like a week old stale chips he must have heated in the microwave.

so we visited this fine establishment after a long hard graft at the rave and they served us amazing curry chips and I would 10 out of 10 recommend this place to anyone else! BETTER THAN Binley Mega Chippy :)

Wow! Brilliant kebabs, lamb or piri piri chicken, fresh food well cooked friendly staff and prices you wouldn't believe!

Stopped by with my son before a gig at the 02 institute. Cheeseburger and chips, and some chicken wings ordered. Immediately as you walk in you are greeted with a lingering aroma of burning fat and grease, probably should have gone elsewhere at that point but not much time spare. 2 x cheeseburger meals at 4.50 each, and 5 wings were 2.99. With the meals came a can of drink...for which the owner, a jolly but somewhat sidetracked guy, advised Dr pepper cans add 20p each. He then said don't worry about it and charged me £13?! Meals arrived and the cheeseburger was average along with a few chips. Wings were terrible, the coating thick and tasteless. 2 stars at it has scope to improve and its not a completely lost cause.

This is the first time I've been to Salt & Pepper; I won't be going again. Popped in recently as I was hungry after going to a gig nearby. I opted for the mixed kebab. What I actually got was a large tray with a mixture of donor meat and grilled chicken strips and some garlic mayonnaise sauce. No pitta, no naan and no salad - very poor. Ironically the meat was incredibly salty and peppery. Couldn't be bothered to complain at the time. Not a great experience

Absolutely disgusting. Firstly I was overcharged compared to what it said on the menu. Secondly the food went in the bin after the first bite. After this experience I seriously think a Zero rating needs to be added.

was on the bog for 48 hours after going there. my mate had a pool of grease in the bottom of his kebab that he did drink cause vibes. Boss man done me aswell asked for cheesy chips and mixed kebab got a poor doner and normal cold chips. HONKIN

we came to salt and pepper last night because we were all desperate for a kebab after a night out. we searched for hours and walked for miles. i was beginning to lose hope as nothing was open. then, just as we were about to admit defeat, Ali came out of the shadows and made us all the most mouth watering kebabs known to man. customer service was second to none, chips were cooked to perfection and we would absolutely come back here again. thankyou so much ali!!

I really hate to give a 1 star review but this is genuinely the first place I've ever been that truly has 1 star food. I ordered a fish and chips and 10 seconds after i order, i hear a microwave star going. That's right, microwaved fish. It was small, chewy and with batter that couldve been actual wet cardboard. The chips were also awful, fried past the point of golden brown, to just brown, while still somehow managing to be raw in the middle. The guy at the till was friendly enough, but the food was just so so bad, sorry!

This is a place that is for people that are drunk and don't really mind what they're eating. Chips are either undercooked,cooked ages ago,or cold. An awful place,but with friendly service

The chips were all overcooked just like the last time i went there and the chicken doner tasted old, and i saw the person serving me smoking while preparing the food .

A grim takeaway which smells bad. It was empty at 10pm but all the tables and the floor were dirty. Upon entry I lost my appetite. My friend bought fish and chips and loads of the chips had black bits. I can only imagine eating here if absolutely hammered.

Really good food, one of my favourite places for eat, they have different types of food like wraps, kebabs, burguers, pizza, fish and chips, etc. The prices are really good and they prepare the food fast. Have a few tables for eat inside or you can take away. The owner is really nice and always speak with you when you order the food while is preparing your food. I recommend to try the chips and the chicken stripps, if you try you will want to go back other day!

I bought sausage and chips and the Sausage was uncooked on the inside we complained they refused to give us our money back. And when I got home I suddenly realise after throwing up I had food poising. Worse food you could ever imagine and the shop is filthy.

Quality food and great service, I had masala rich and chips, unbruised chips, chunky and tasty, fish Was freshly flavoured and cooked. Really enjoyed it with good service. It's hard to get good fish and chips but I got it here.

From the outside, it looks smart and modern, looks new, go in and it's the same, blatant it's new,. Maybe it's finding it's feet, I don't know how new it is but as only a few reviews, it's not been open long. We had a light snack, nothing to write home about, needs to up it's game, as I sed, they are probably learning but they should really be better prepared, only average on balance.

Very nice customer service was met with a great smile and great vibe. The food is cheap but yet good quality! Nice and crispy. Would recommend if you are travelling through Birmingham on the coach or in the digbeth area! 😎

Absolutely awful. Read the reviews and should've just not gone but decided to because it was closest to the coach station. I got 2 pieces of chicken and chips for £3.50 which was meant to be a meal so I asked for a canned drink but he said it didn't include a drink although it clearly said it did on the menu so immediately was ripped off (also their justeat page says that it does). I'd paid before being given my food else would've gone elsewhere. Was given a tiny amount of chips and the chicken was vile somehow both dry and oily. I am feeling sick and shouldn't have risked eating it. In my short time in the shop had someone else complain about being given a tiny amount of chips (they were not given more) and another literally put their meal in the bin it was so disgusting (they were not refunded). This visit took place at about 6pm. I thought 'give this place a chance to mildly redeem themselves' and asked for the drink again at the end out of principle, and genuinely the guy had crossed out the drink bit on the menu during my time there! I said how about in good faith give it to me and he said no. Never been to a place so awful and gross and stingy before. This definitely is not a place you'd ever make a return visit to and can only imagine they're still in business because of ripping people off. Do not go here!

Supposedly there is a new menu to be introduced imminently, despite the fact the old menus are still on display... don’t expect to be charged the price on the menu for what you order. Donner meat cold and small portions. These people are out to rip you off. Absolutely rubbish and poor quality

Fish and Chips was awful, fish was literally chewy and hard at the ends and mush in the middle, Chips were not toooo bad but the ‘curry sauce, was more like curry flavoured water.

Great fried chicken breast and chicken donner in a pitta bread. Cleaner tables and better care needs to be taken of the french fries. Could do more to make the place cosy. More healthy options would enrich the menu. Relatively inexpensive so an OK place for a quick fast food bite.

I have just enjoyed a really well rounded meal of fish (ordered small), chips, mushy peas and curry sauce. The servers were friendly and the food cooked perfectly. The price was very reasonable at £6:40 including a bottle of coke. The tables was a tad grubby but nothing a napkin could not sort out! This was also very convenient for waiting for my daughter who was attending a concert at the O2 Institute. Parking very easy in Floodgate Street about 3-4 minutes walk away.
