As a 'mad cat' woman, we decided yo go and see the cats at the cat Cafe. It was expensive to go see the cats and the food was dreadful.
There is complete lack of organisation, the cats in my opinion were not adequately cared for with dirty eyes and dirty ears (possibly with mites) and personaly, i would be ashamed to have these as my pets and using them to run a business.
The cats are all over the tables in the lounge area they are loose. They are drinking spare milk from jugs, eating crusts n food from finished plates and generally begging. We opted to eat in the area outside the cat lounge as whilst i love cats, having them in my food is a no, no!
The litter area in the cat lounge was stinky, faeces were on the floor and i felt it stressful for a nursing queen to be in the lounge with her kittens.
The food was very basic. Nothing amazing for the price and took ages to make.
The cats on a couple occasions whilst we visited escaped into the huge kitchen area.
This business is a complete mis-mash of ideas.....a junk store, cafe and cat circus.....very odd. Can't see it lasting long.
Had a lovely Sunday carvery here today.
The choices and quality of meat and side dishes were exceptional and everything was so tasty.
The service was excellent to.
I can't wait to go back here.
Lovely day shopping in Birmingham with the family only to be spoiled by the terrible attitude of a member of staff, asked for thee glasses of tap water to go with the cappuccino ordered, only to be told to pay 40p per plastic cup!!!! Or if you prefer bring your own cups next time. Face like thunder, obviously having a bad day or in desperate need of a customer service course. If this is the first impression visitors to Birmingham get coming to brum, I pity them
Since my last review the food keeps getting better , the pulled pork sandwiches are mouth watering and i even tried a veg samosa i want another one now, seema and disha are really good cooks and look after the premises well would highly recomend a visit
Excellent Sunday lunch at this pub! Glad we phoned to book as they only had one slot left. Staff very pleasant and welcoming. Dog friendly. Nothing we couldn’t eat, even the roasties were good (and they are always my go to when rating a roast dinner cooked in a restaurant kitchen). The beer was excellent and well kept according to my husband; the red wine came in small bottles which guarantees it’s not going to have been opened a while and have a hint (or more) of turning to sherry, it was good. Having said nothing we couldn’t eat……the roast was so filling we had to give dessert a miss, certainly going back as we’re here for a week, so a smaller meal followed by dessert defo on the cards.
Visited on recommendation of lady in village store to try the oatcakes. We both had cheese and they were yummy and good fuel for a yomp up The Roaches.
Both ladies friendly, chatty & welcoming. We took a piece of toffee tiffin away to enjoy later in the day.
PS: Bought 3 pkts of oatcakes to take home to share with friends & family!
Great little pub . Lovely people. Really friendly . Free pool Wednesday , so meet up with the lads . Prices are fair . 👍 great night on Friday and Saturdays , D
Fab...u...lous.
Has to be the best fish & chips ever.
Some have good fish, others chips, rarely both together and at today's prices, pretty good value for money.
The service was quick and friendly and the food was hot.
The lady serving is unflappable, naturally friendly and a great sense of humour.
Unfortunately the restaurant at Westons was full so we thought that we would get a snack at Hellens. Bad mistake
The menu was very limited. It felt like we had stepped back into the 1950's. Grated cheese and pickle sandwich (or you could have the grated cheese and pickle sandwich!). We both had the grated cheese sandwich at east with mayonnaise. It was very pappy roll with grated mousetrap cheddar. Neither of us ate all of it. Decent selection of drinks and ice creams. Very friendly service. Being honest try to eat before you go here otherwise be prepared for disappointment. The three stars are 2 for trying and one for being there but zero for the actual food choice and quality.
If you’re in the area, then this Chinese, the Cantonese Chef is worth a look always have good plentiful hot tasty food. These Chinese guys are old-school not like the young pimped up Chinese food. You sometimes get these days.
I was a regular customer for around 2 years at this take away , been there 30 times or more . There food portion and quality are consistently great and I mean every single times. Never disappointed me once . Definetly one of the best Chinese take away food in Leamington spa.
The quality never drops and price is alright too .
Been here so many times over the years and the service is amazing! Staff are lovely and nothing is too much.
Food is always beautiful!
Will continue to use this cafe for my weekly breakfasts
