Have ordered pizza on a Friday night a few times from Dylan, when I have been down visiting family near Marlborough, I opt to collect as I am outside the delivery area, but they do local delivery (you just need to check your postcode with them). If I make it back without having a cheeky bite - it's a rare occasion. It smells so good, I can't resist. The classic Margherita is my fave, but my fiancé loves the Nduja sausage :-) We love the garlic bread too, really buttery and actually tastes of real garlic! From his Baking Shed, Dylan also does Bread on a pre-order basis - so we buy a loaf and collect it with our Pizza! Win! Win! - saves me going out on Saturday morning.

solamente he comido aquí a la hora del almuerzo con "mujeres que comer", pero la comida es excelente, el ambiente y el servicio es excelente.

This place probably doesn’t need anymore good reviews but it certainly earned one. Ate here for a long lunch with friends who I hadn’t seen for years so there was a lot of talking and catching up. The place lends itself to that. It is comfortable, friendly, relaxed but the food and the service are absolutely excellent. The owner who was on duty yesterday ( forgive me for not catching your name) couldn’t have been more helpful and accommodating. He paced his service around pauses in our conversation and made us feel very welcome. He also caught on to the fact we were ex military and upon showing proof gave us a generous discount, which was very much appreciated. We stayed through the afternoon chatting away, and he kindly left us in peace . An absolutely lovely place, thanks for looking after us.

Upon arrival at The Silks we were greeted and seated by the landlord, Thomas (Thomas Frake winner of Master Chef 2020) who made us feel very welcome, took our order and advised us on wine to accompany our roast sirloin of beef main course. We were then looked after by Jake. Nothing was too much trouble for Jake. We didn’t have to wait long for our jug of water and wine or for our starters, beer battered prawns and olives which were delicious. Our Sunday roast beef was “melt in the mouth” scrumptious and one of the best Sunday roasts that we have enjoyed in a long time. Our cheese and sticky toffee pudding desserts didn’t disappoint either. Thank you so much to Thomas and Jake for looking after us so well and making our lunch such a relaxed and enjoyable occasion and one that we now intend to repeat very soon.

Menu is great, milkshakes to die for, but completely let down by use of poor quality ultra processed bread. If I'm going out for food, I want something above and beyond what I can muster up at home... And what tastes and looks like budget Lidl white sliced bread in a sandwich is BELOW what I eat that at home. Would be 10/10 if there was another more wholesome and filling option.

This place is a must. Yes, service can be up and down but these are hard working farmers who care for their animals. If you are looking for good, alternative meat products you simply have to pay them a visit.

Had a great stop off here before my final night of walking the Ridgeway. Very warm and friendly staff - arriving on a Friday evening was great as the local patrons were welcoming too and wood-fired pizza available that tasted amazing, thank you!

Wow, what a terrible experience, which ruined a 40th birthday dinner. What should have been a wonderful “feasting” menu with ample food to share, was in fact more like a famine. We were a table of 14 (11 adults, 3, children) and due to the party size, we had to choose their “feasting menu”- food pre-ordered and 50% paid some weeks in advance. So, they had plenty of time to prepare for our table. We had 2 plates of meat for 11 adults- these weren’t sharing plates, piled high. These were normal dining plates with a level amount of meat. Chicken was wonderful, however beef had lots of fat and gristle. HALF the table had what only can be described as a childs portion of meat and one member had no meat at all. I was sure more would arrive- surely 2 plates of meat for 11 adults is not suffice. But no, that’s all we got. When we told the waitress one member had no meat at all, she brought back a couple of slices of beef and said the Chef advised there was no more. Same with the potatoes- two bowls, one roast and one dauphinoise, some members getting little to none. We asked again- the chef advised none left, but we could have some boiled potatoes. Wow. The roasts were dry and hard, my knife struggled to get through them, they tasted 3 days old and had been reheated. The veg was boiled and plane. The gravy was in tiny little boats- again we had to ask for more. By the time it came food was cold Service was non-existent. Not once did anyone ask how our meal was, no one asked if we needed more drinks, no one asked if we needed sauces etc. We had to go to the bar to get our drinks ourselves. No cloth napkins, just cheap flimsy paper ones. The children’s meals were tiny as well, served on side plates and with no room for them to cut anything up. The desserts were below average. A sticky toffee pudding that tasted like it came out of the microwave, the crumble- I’ve had better supermarket ones. The table was booked by my dear Mother who hates to make a fuss and as it was a birthday she didn’t want to complain when we were all there. I have since tried to call to discuss the experience, with no joy. I have emailed and asked for the Manager to call; however, they want me to discuss it over email. No- I would like to speak with someone. Seems like they do not care for customer feedback or satisfaction. This was not a cheap meal either. If you are in a group and want to leave a restaurant where you’ve received no service, still starving, and ripped off, then book here.

Really nice pub, in the centre of a stone circle! It's a good spot to chill after exploring the stone circles and ancient mounds of surrounding Avebury. It's actually quite large and upmarket, not in a bad way, it's not a stereotypical village pub in looks inside. Though it still has a friendly, rest-stop feeling to it. The pub has outdoor seating and indoor dining areas. Not had the food but been several times for drinks while exploring the beautiful areas around it. Always had a good experience, the staff and other patrons are very friendly. Can get quite busy as it's a destination pub for walking groups and tourists, so if you wish to eat booking a table is advised.

Arrived expecting to find a pub and found it had changed hands two weeks earlier and reopened as an Indian restaurant - we were obviously among the very first customers! We were given a warm welcome, the food was absolutely excellent and the service attentive. I would highly recommend the Goan fish curry, mild and deliciously seasoned.
