Delicious food and amazing service in an enchanting setting. Highly recommend sitting in one of the window seats if available. A truly cosy autumn spot.

Sunday carvery never fails to be a pleasure here. The choice of meats and veg are always a delight and you don’t get wafer thin slices of meat. Don’t even mention the Yorkshire puds - they are as big as Silbury Hill mm mmm. With two pints of beer (Swordfish, always good) and a large glass of Malbec our meal was a touch over £50 but with such excellent delicious food, superb service and no washing up it was worth every penny.

We had dinner twice while in the Avebury area. Friendly & efficient service, good food, nice local beer. Fish & chips, fish cakes, seafood linguine all very good. If we were staying longer they’d get our repeat business.

Well what can I say... Just Amazing!!! Excellent food, great presentation, very big portions, and the taste was just delightful. Lovely atmosphere, and all staff very courteous friendly and happy. Definately a Must!!

We all had different burgers that were cooked to perfection. I'm not usually a huge fan of chips but these were phenomenal, portion sizes were also amazing for the price. The staff were also very welcoming and friendly, would recommend giving it a visit and would definitely come back again!

Staying in Beckhampton for a few days, and the Waggon and Horses were recommended to us. We were not disappointed. Excellent food and service, we ate here twice, and had the burgers on the first visit, and the second - the seafood linguine and vegetable tart.

We stopped here by chance en route to Bradford on Avon (and it’s easy to find, directly on the main road). Although we arrived relatively near closing time, the welcome was warm and friendly, and service unhurried. Good pub food, with some great inventive twists on classic. Duck salad was super. definitely worth a stop

I have lost count how many times I have driven past the Wagon and Horses but yesterday my husband and I finally stopped there for dinner. We were given a fantastic welcome by the staff. They even fired up the ovens half an hour early. The food was amazing. My husband had the lamb and I had a vegetarian tart with the breads for a starter. It was all freshly cooked and beautifully presented and tasted wonderful. The building itself is full of history and dates back to the 16th century. I will return next time I visit the stones at Avebury

We called in after walking in the area and what a lovely venue after a long walk. Great choice of drinks, including many Wadworths ales. The Swordfish went down a treat. A good menu and the food we opted for was great. Really friendly staff too. Would thoroughly recommend!

I have never given a bad review but feel compelled to write this as I’m so embarrassed by the treatment and food my recently found relatives were subjected to at the weekend . We took our new found relatives from abroad to this pub for a traditional Sunday roast which they had never tried before. I was so embarrassed by the service and cold food. The server behind the carvery was very impolite and wouldn’t give me time to explain what our relatives were to do at the self service counter (they had not had this kind of carvery meal before). There was no one else in the queue so no need to rush us. When we were asked by a passing waitress if everything was ok she made it plain that she was unhappy I was displeased with the meal although she did half heartedly ask if I wanted something else. When I went to pay I again mentioned we were all unhappy with the meal and the waitress ignored my comments. I returned to the table after paying for the bill and our glasses were grabbed from the table with displeasure by the waitress whom I had complained to originally. I am very surprised at the amount of 5 star reviews. - I assume people are swayed by the look of the building and are mostly tourists to be giving 5 star reviews to this disappointing service and food. When I mentioned where we were going for a meal to the Wagon and Horses at Avebury NT we were told it was ‘homely food’ - I should have paid more attention to the undercurrents suggested in the comments and the manner in which the comments were given to me. We will never be back to this place again - such a disappointment.

Me & my partner turned up without a booking. This is the second time we have been here in the last twelve months. Both times fantastic friendly staff with excellent food & great service. If I lived close this would become my local. Good pub, good food, good beer, good service.

Turned up a On the spur of the moment on my way back from Avebury. Yes they found me a space and had an awesome carvery the 5 meats and all the trimmings. Can’t fault the food or the staff. Highly recommended

Miserable staff. The younger members of staff were fine the older ones seemed fed up. Everything seemed too much trouble and definitely only wanted people eating food. If you just want a pint they are not interested. Price of beer is extortionate another sign the want diners not people having a beer.

Visited here a few times now, although it’s not local to me, worth the drive to have great service, and excellent fresh food cooked. Well worth a visit. Wadworths 6x on tap and has some unusual spicy chicken dishes on the menu which I tend to go for. They start serving food at 6pm and can cater for quite a few here. Car park isn’t large, but never had an issue parking. Please try, I don’t think you will be dissapointed.

Fitted a party of 8 in last minute (three days notice) for a birthday meal. Was apprehensive about a 4pm sitting, would the food be dried out etc but there was no need to be. The meats were lovely and moist and the veggies weren't dry at all. Great choice of veg and meat and lovely desserts. Very well priced. Only downside was we were seated next to a radiator and near the woodburner both of which were working at full pelt so it got very warm. Overall though an excellent experience.

Absolutely amazing Sunday carvery, the food is cooked perfectly, the choice of meat and vegetables is one of the best I have seen. Staff are friendly and welcoming always smiling and can't to enough to make sure your stay is memorable. Bar has a great selection of wines and ales too.

My father treated my husband and I to Christmas Day meal and the food, staff, quality and atmosphere was perfection. We’ve had many Christmas Day meals out but this one beat all the others hands down. Our starters were gorgeous but the roast carvery exceeded any expectations. A choice of 5 meats (including turkey) and a help yourself veg selection to die for was piled high on everyone’s plates. In fact most people had a takeaway carton to take home what they could not eat. Expecting a small dessert to finish off we were served a generous portion of deliciousness. We were welcomed with a complimentary glass of fizz or orange juice and shown to our beautifully decorated table. The whole pub had been decked out in the best decorations I have seen in a pub. The atmosphere was relaxed and happy and everyone in there were enjoying themselves. We were not rushed in anyway and having been crammed in previous

We haven't been here for a number of years, so thought that we would give it a try as my husband was given a voucher for his birthday. It was a miserable wet night, but on entering the pub it was a lovely surprise to find the heating on. The pub was lovely and warm and we were made very welcome from the moment we walked in. Our waitress was extremely friendly and accommodating even though she was dashing around greeting people, serving and clearing tables, she really was brilliant. The food was delicious and portions generous. All in all we had a great time and will definitely be going back. Thank you all for such a lovely evening.

A huge thank you for all of the help from the two amazing ladies from lunch time today! I was stranded and in need of help and they were amazing! Whilst waiting to get back on my way I also sampled the pork and apple sauce Yorkshire pudding wrap which fab! Never eaten here before and decided to give it a try. So glad I did, what a fantastic menu and very well presented. I love spicy foods, and this must be the only restaurant I have found that serves Jamaican Jerk Chicken - absolutely lovely. My wife had a pasta dish which she stated was the best she had tried in ages. Although it’s a 30min drive from where I live, I will without doubt be there again very soon. I didn’t have a dessert as I was full from the main course portion size! With great service and fantastic ales and wine - it’s a no brainer. For those of you that know the history of the pub, it is rumoured to be haunted. Well, we were disappointed in that respect, didn’t see anything strange going on ………….
