Had dinner with family here at the weekend. Internally the pub/restaurant is very nice warm and welcoming. Menu looks good and prices are fine if the quality of food matches the price.Unfortunately we did not find that to be the case. Its certainly not Michelin standard in my view. Portion sizes particularly starters and desserts are small. Two of my party wanted to try the ice creams for dessert.....a scoop is £3 which is pretty average but the scoop was not much more than teaspoon sizes, smallest we have ever seen. The mains were ok but nothing very special. Overall it was nice and thats being kind. Would we go back.....no.

This used to be a great place for lunch or tea in the Courts Garden in Holt. Sadly it is now closed. A great loss. The only problem with it was that it was too popular and one sometimes had to wait for a table.

Loved it! Visited the area for a day of hiking and stopped here for lunch. It came recommended and I can see why! Stunning building (with an incredible tree surrounding the front door!), beautiful interior and a gorgeous sun trap garden out the back. The food was absolutely delicious! A bit on the pricier side, but well worth it — I’d rather pay a little more for great quality. Superb, very friendly and attentive service from George and Lulu, they’re a credit to the team! It’s great to come to a really decent pub with a nice feel to it. Warm and welcoming, not snobby or chaotic. Currently enjoying a glass of wine before I hoof it back to the campsite. I live relatively nearby, so I’ll definitely be coming back again! :)

We decided to take our Mum somewhere different for her birthday. This place ticked all the boxes, food was delicious (so many tasty ingredients, especially the toastie, even the salad was amazing), gorgeous views, wonderful staff and not one single complaint for our group. We could have sat there all afternoon, in fact we kind of did! Lots of space inside and out for a lovely Autumn day so it doesn't feel busy and you aren't sat on top of other tables. This is definitely one of our new favourite places and we're looking forward to trying something else next time! Having a stroll around the lake, seeing the swans and sheep after lunch was the icing on the cake. And talking about cakes, I'm not usually a cake person but had to try one when I saw them. Just wow!

Great new venture, that has been open about 4 months. I was served by the welcoming Izzie, and had two lovely black coffees and a flapjack. It's early days for the business, so just a small selection of cake at the moment. Plenty of parking, seating inside and out, and dog friendly. WiFi is available, too. As the business grows, it is listening to what customers want, and bacon sandwiches are on the 'to do' list. Cash only at the moment, so take some change. Well done, Izzie! Chris.

Sunday lunch - After arrival we asked to order our food as we knew what we wanted, were told to wait as kitchen did order in batches ? After ordering we waited over 45 minutes for a meadocre meal to arrive , good choice of veg small potion of lamb, roast potatoes were not crunchy , they were like the ready prepared ones. Unfortunately we won't be returning!

The delivery time was unacceptable. The order and payment were taken but 1 hour later no food. When I spoke to the restaurant the attitude was poor. As in it is still cooking and should be 30 mins. 30 mins to cook some food..... really. Our boys were looking forward to a family meal but are now too tired to enjoy the treat. Happy Friday.....
