This used to be a great place for lunch or tea in the Courts Garden in Holt. Sadly it is now closed. A great loss. The only problem with it was that it was too popular and one sometimes had to wait for a table.

Had lunch here, the lamb burger is wonderful. All 3 of us enjoyed our lunch and then afternoon tea They are always busy but only seat as many as they can cope with. Visiting the Courts Gardens is a pleasure which this tea room makes better.

This is our 4th visit to The Rose Garden Tea Room. The food is delicious and the desserts real diet busters but worth every calorie. This charming little tea room is a joy to visit .. good quality food, good service and good value.

This small but excellent tea room is inside the Courts Garden. It was very busy and we were lucky to get the last available table. Fantastic choice of fresh cakes and lunches, sandwiches and jacket potatoes at fair sensible prices. We just had tea and coffee both of which were tasty. Really liked the staff and thought they were friendly and helpful.

After a lovely walk around the garden, coffee and cake were in order. It is very warm in the tearoom and they are tight on space. Tables are well placed for getting around and privacy but it is cosy. Orders taken promptly and a large cafetiere arrived followed by our cakes - carrot and lemon ginger cheesecake. Both very tasty and a good portion. Cream on the side decorated with a strawberry, couple of raspberries and blueberries. I'm not much of a fan of these kind of plate decorations as the flavours are usually poor but the fruit tasted as they should! Really lovely. £12.80 which I thought was good value. We both had a large coffee and there was about the same left over. Would we go back? Certainly. They also have a specials menu for hot lunches, sandwiches, jackets, soup if you want more of a meal.

Stopped off here when visiting the Courts Gardens in Holt near Bradford-on-Avon, we parked opposite in the Glove Factory Car Park then crossed a main road which was fairly busy. The entrance to the Rose Garden Tea Room was bright, clean and inviting. There was a wooden stand which politely asked you to wait to be seated. The pleasant waitress came out to let me know that as soon as a table is free and they have cleaned it ready they will call me. While I was waiting I really liked the fact that there was a Menu already in the entrance foyer on a mantel piece so I browsed the menu but noticed there were Specials for the day on the chalkboard on the wall. A delightful waitress invited me to my table and gave me the menu, I had already decided what I wanted and placed my order. She was very polite, well presented and the cafe was very clean and bright. Very warm ambiance, the seating plan was very well laid out. There were numerous and very tempting cakes and gateaux in the refrigerator, but they looked very rich and indulgent. I would have liked to have seen a couple of plain cakes such as Madeira or a fruit cake to add a bit of variety. The cheesecake was twice the depth of the usual cheesecake you see in restaurants and I was quite tempted it looked so fresh and tasty, but was brave enough to resist temptation. I would certainly come back here again as I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and hope you do too as they deserve to do well. The cafe and the Courts Gardens are only open until the end of October so hope to come back at some point before then. If I cannot make it I will definitely come back to see the snowdrops in February when they will only be open at weekends until the Spring season starts again soon afterwards when the Gardens will be open again for the season. As a last comment, when I was making my way out of the Courts Gardens I became aware of the most wonderful aroma coming from the border plants on the way out, it was distinctive and very pleasant. I really liked that experience as I was leaving because it left me with wonderful thoughts and memories of a lovey day in the Gardens and hope you enjoy your time here as much as I did.

Warm welcome from the staff, and quick service. Would recommend the lemon cheesecake, and the tea and coffee were freshly made. Tables were kept clean, and cleared quickly, and had nice china too.

Just wanted to echo all the other 5 star reviews of this establishment. Everything is clean and fresh at the The Rose Garden Tea-Room with attentive friendly staff who always seem eager to please. I was also really happy to see all the different combinations of salads with ploughman's lunches, field mushroom with melted Stilton cheese et etcetera. The menu choices were just the ticket for a hot summer day with temperatures up to around 28°C. (I should have taken a picture of the menu board!) And what is the secret to this exceptionally well run establishment? It's independently / privately run and is NOT part of the National Trust! If this was a National Trust tea-room, they would probably have been serving (hot) Lamb Tagine or something similarly inappropriate (with complete disregard for the weather conditions) and the menu board would list considerably fewer options. Great cake selection too!

Having been visiting here many times over last 7 years or so, I agree the Tea Room was as previous reviewers a liitle find !! That is it was, not so sure now ! We thought it lacked cosy atmosphere & not as we remembered it On the plus side, Tea Cakes were excellent, hot & very generously buttered Let down by the cafeiterre of coffee The cafeiterre was served with the plunger "already down" This meant the coffee did not infuse Therefore was weak & a disappointment Perhaps the young serving ladies could have more training on how to serve cooffee correctly

I visit here regularly throughout the seasons - the menu has a wide range of standard lunch fare and an excellent cream tea. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they do an excellent range of teas including my favourite, Lady Grey.

We've visited here before and yet again have enjoyed an excellent lunch in The Rose Tearoom. This is how all National Trust tearooms ought to be. It reflects the character of the property offering excellent service, food and value for money in a relaxed atmosphere. The setting is charming without being twee. Thank you for another super lunch.

Having visited many NTs over the years, the Rose Tea Room is the best cafe of them all. Tea arrived 2 mins after ordering and food within 5 mins (a hot meal and an individually made sandwich. Friendly staff and very reasonable prices.

I have already commented on another review about the quality of the cakes here - huge strawberry filled sponge layers and buttery toasted team cakes - it took me back to the best of eating out when I was a little girl!

Won’t be back - coffee ok but woeful miserable staff. A smile, a bit of engagement, even eye contact makes a difference - you want to feel welcome rather than an intruder. Surely when money is tight places realise they might have to go that bit extra to encourage people to go back.

Unfortunately unable to review accomodation, food or service as we were double booked. Apparently landlords wife responsible for this so she was summoned. Landlord then completely ignored us and didnt even offer us a seat let alone an apology, this was left to his wife. She didnt seem well and was apparently in hospital at the time of our booking. She went away, 20 mins later produced £140 to cover the cost at premier inn who had ample availability and she had phoned them. Premier Inn denied any phone calls from Helen. They had one room which went whilst we were trying to book it. Plenty of certificates of awards, shame they are so old and tatty like the pub. I hate being lied to but rudeness, lies and facing a night in the car... Dont book here, disgraceful performance. Tired and niaive, should have insisted they booked it in front of us! Took the edge off Bath Christmas market tbh!

We popped in this cafe during our 80 mile walk for some much needed hot food . The staff were fantastic, especially the waitress who couldn’t help us enough
