The best restaurants in Chippenham Monkton Wiltshire South West

Took my nieces money as a deposit for a cake and now won’t answer the phone or messages to her. My niece gets married in a week and has now been left without a cake. How can you do this to people???? You should be ashamed.

Now been four times in the last 2 weeks since moving to the area! Must say I was stubborn with my kebab choice but this is my new go to, absolutely incredible food, best in Chippenham 100%! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

I didn't expect a decent pizza from a kebab place, but after a few banging kebabs I've oredered a pizza and it was amazing , I had an all meat one , and I can recommend it any day of the week , it was great

Was meeting for a work reunion, 10 of us in the end after a couple of cancellations. Had to pre-pay £10 each, which seemed a little steep. Once arrived and sat, drink orders were taken. Oddly, before getting drinks, our food arrived after we had to pre-order our food. This was about 10 minutes after we sat down. We were an early booking and understand prepping, but the food had clearly been pre-cooked. Chips were hot, but not crispy. Sweet potato ones were very dark in colour, edging on burnt. Mine tasted ok, but one of my friends noted some of hers tasted burnt. They were at least homemade. Burger itself was very underwhelming. What seemed like a bought in patty, bog standard bun, with harissa mayo that was not strong in flavour. Accompanied by a bit of little gem lettuce. All tasted ok, but very basic for the price of £15.95. Overall, most of us were underwhelmed and although not bad, would not be returning. I have no issue paying out for food, but expect good quality and mostly homemade if charging that price. It was not busy and most of us had burgers, so should not have been an issue to prep fresh and allow us to actually sit and relax ahead of eating. Overall just disappointing. Felt like overpriced fast food.

Indian restaurant in Chippenham that's exciting. Menu is interesting. I haven't tried most of the dishes, but it was very well managed. One hour street parking is available nearby.

Ordered takeaway and it was amazing. I had the chicken tikka paneer, really nice and spicy, the quality of the chicken was so good and there was a good portion too. Honestly, try it, it’s a spicy tikka masala, loved it. Definitely going to be returning, arrived in under an hour and hot!

Got takeaway for large doner and chips and a large doner. Overall tasted good and was a good portion size and even offered complimentary rice on the house. The interior seemed a bit outdated and can be rennovated. The owners are the same as Istanbul Grill in Malmesbury.

Tried to order online, however once we got to payment screen it came up with an error message saying the order could not be processed and therefore payment had failed. So we ordered from another restaurant, only to find that ‘The Raj’ had in fact taken the money out of the account, we called the restaurant to inform them of the error on the website and to cancel the order (after all we had now ordered from somewhere else, due to the error message we had recieved) only to have a gentlemen answer the phone very rudely, and argue with us that there wasn’t a problem with his website and then try to give us a sob story after we had explained the situation to him, and yet he still denied there being a problem! Although common sense would make it obvious that if there wasn’t a problem while ordering, we would not have felt the need to have order from somewhere else! Due to this experience alone, I will NOT be ordering from this restaurant again, and I most certainly will NOT be recommending to family and friends!
