Legends of fast food in Chippenham. Burgers to die for

Normally 5* having it many times before....but chips were a bit undercooked and we found a long dark hair in one of the burgers bought tonight. Quite disappointing and doesn't make you want to return.

Shoestrings what happened??? You used to be by far the best mainly at Audley road. Got something Thursday evening it was awful order was not correct missing cheese on chips put cheese in burgers that was not meant to have cheese. You had 3 staff members in I was the only person in there yet you still get it so wrong.? Felt I've wasted 27 quid a take away I used as a kid and now I'd rather chew my flip flop

Will only start using this place again when you're allowed indoors like a human being

I am glad I do not live in Chippenham, only work there, as I could audition for the film "the whale" if I did. As a team at work we would all get a burger and fries each, as these burger are no ordinary burgers, they are AMAZING! If you are in town just have one, even if your not hungry, you will be back for sure! Enjoy.

Great cheesy fries. The only thing is they come in a polystyrene box 😬 Surely we live in times where you can find a more recyclable/eco option, people?!

Went last Thursday and had AMAZING service by a young man with brown hair he was so friendly and cheerful it made my day! Food was amazing for the price of it. Great first time experience will go be going again!!

The shoe strings bacon and cheese burger is hard to beat.

Family run local burger joint that will put any of the Big Wigs to shame. Everything freshly cooked and prepared to order. Their burgers are wonderful, the fries are heavenly - especially dunked in garlic mayo! Visit here just once and you will never see BK or McD's the same again. This is how is should be done.

Great garlic mayo and a national treasure to Chippenham

Very average food, chips are some of the worst I have eaten, chicken in burger is deep fried in bad oil, single use plastic containers. Price is the only highlight really.

Definitely the best burgers in Chippenham & the best take away by far. Well establish in the town for years & still the best..

Without doubt the best burgers I have ever tasted! Adapting well to the Covid changes, service is now available at the door, they accept contactless card payments, and phone orders are welcome as well. Feeling hungry? Double cheeseburger & chips will fill you up. Customise your burger with any combination of salad, cheeses & sauces available. My record is eating 4 half pound double cheeseburgers. Can you beat it?

Awesome place, been getting my bacon burger and fries from Shoestrings since I was at college over 20 years ago and would still recommend the food to anyone.

Best burgers in town, and fantastic choice. I’ve never had the pizzas , but the burgers are better than anything else from takeaway in the center.

Good take away food the smell pulled me in cooked fresh on charcoal

I've just had a burger and chips from this place. I waited 25 Minutes for it, and when I got it home it was over cooked cardboard with very little taste. terrible, never again.

Can't deny the food is good but can't pay with card under £5 which has been outlawed also overcharged me so either update your menus or get the prices right

Friends of my son suggested this fast food as the best in the area, he thinks it's very good but the sauce was a little bit too spicy. In Chippenham city centre there aren't famous brands hamburger fast food, here you can taste good ones.

There are 3 places I would buy burgers from around here and the other 2 are in Bath, they all rate equally in my book, these are Mr M's(Bath), Schwartz Bros (Bath) and thenShoestrings in Chippenham, The burgers are tasty, the Salad is crisp, the rolls are soft and then toasted, and the choice of relishes is great. The french frys are great, and the service is always polite and quick, if you want a quality takeaway burger in Chippenham, then Shoestrings is the only place to get it. Cant recommend them enough.

Welcome to the best place in the South for burgers. I had a blue cheese burger and chips and what an utter bargain it is. The portions are very generous and the dips are filled to the top. I live in the north and there is nowhere up there that does burgers like this. We always have one when we visit family down here.

A very helpful staff member helped me decide what might be best for my friend. The food smelt delicious.

We ordered a large cheesy chips and then had to pay extra 50p per dip!!!! The chips themselves were average but charging extra for the dips is ridiculous!!! Ended up paying £5 for a simple cheesy chips with 2 dips! Will never visit again!!

I was so bleeping excited to go to shoestring and have some chips and garlic mayo but noooooooooooo some stupid fool decided to NOT put in my garlic mayo. OUTRAGEOUS!!! #Wontbegoingagainlooool. (jokes Im going tomorrow you fool) That garlic mayo was 50p SON! Now I can't get any kinder chocolate eggs because I wasted that 50 pence on garlic mayo WHICH I DID NOT RECEIVEFROM YOUR BUSINESS. Ive had food from both the Shoestring shops in Chippenham on many occasions & it's always really tasty.

Got a burger and chips here and it's ok, nothing to write home about. Miserable looking person behind the counter though.

Not had a Shoestrings burger for quite a while ... but it was just as I remembered ....amazing .. keep up the good work ..

Staff very friendly takeaway meals are cooked just right can't fault this place and you don't have to wait too long, I always make sure I phone my order through then by the time I have driven down its ready

Garlic burger with loads of garlic mayo in, lettuce and onion with chips and a pot of mayo on the side, HEAVEN! Never disappoints :)

Me pareció buena cosa oír buscaría blue cheese burger. Solía vivir en ellos es muy pequeño para llevar en Barnstaple (grill no estoy seguro de si sigue allí) y toy utilizada para conseguir un gran círculo de cebolla frita en hornillos, y se evapora más adecuado de queso azul. No tuvimos suerte. La salsa era repugnante, una especie de sabor a queso azul con grumos en mayo, tuve que raspar la hamburguesa y hamburguesa. Y la ensalada era muy insignificante. Hamburguesa de muy baja calidad. Para arrancar tuve una fiebre que noche, envenenamiento leve comida? Nunca volveremos.

Yo solía venir aquí como un chico con mi padre que vivía localmente. Siempre eran las mejores hamburguesas. Ahora estoy crecido y tener un bebé de mi propio así que metimos nuevamente para ver cómo es ahora. Y no me decepcionó. La mejor hamburguesa que he probado en mi vida aún! recién preparado a pedido y gustos increíble! Fantástico servicio y comida fantástica! Cualquiera que deja una respuesta negativa es obviamente estúpido y/o no tiene papilas gustativas que trabajar de forma eficiente. Ahora vivo en Cornualles, siempre tienen un shoestrings cada vez que visite mi familia a veces hay que tener más tarde antes que ir a la m4. NO cambia nada! IMPRESIONANTE!!!

En general a primera vista el lugar parece viejo y en mal estado y necesita una restauración, después de todo ellos años. pero la comida es excelente no ir a ningún otro sitio de hamburguesas de primera!

I thought we would try this takeaway, everything was horrendous, spicy Chicken burger was small and had no spice, I had to scrap out the BBQ sauce which just turned the Bread wet and soggy. Chips were frozen and I refused to even feed them to my dog.

Went here yesterday and got 3 burgers. My wife had the garlic burger with salad and chips, I had the blue cheese burger with salad and chips, my parents shared a double fish burger with chips. Me and my wife also had 2 garlic dips to. Over the years most places like this let the quality slip so items don't taste the same but this isn't the case here, food still has the same lovely flavour and the sauces are still extra thick and tasty unlike some takeaways where there watered down. Excellent place and excellent value.

I am a repeat customer of this takeout! i absolutly love their Garlic Feast and the cheesy chips are to die for. Loads of options, the place may look quite shabby but the food is not! 100 Percent reccommend.

Who would not disagree that shoestring burgers are the best..Yes il travel 120 mile round trip to have one... And the Mayo is out of this world... Makes your mouth water thinking about..

when i steped into shoestrings i could smell the wonderfull chicken cooking and the fries sizziling. i was greeted by lovely staff and people enjoying their meals in the seating area. i paid a great price for my food... the greatest i think i will ever pay for a burger and chips!the service was brilliant and i know that i will be returning to shoestrings in the future.

There was only one member of staff upon our visit. The lady touched the food and money (change, bank notes) with her bare hands, without cleaning them in between and without using gloves. I used to love Shoestrings and hadn't been for a number of years but cleanliness now doesn't seem to be at its best anymore. The food tasted fine but after seeing her touching the change and then touching the burger baps with her hands, it put me off eating it. Unfortunately I doubt I will be going back any time soon.

These burgers never fail .. Keep meaning to try something else but just can't resist .. Even the chips are good !!

shoe strings is not a dine in resturant but a fast food burger bar.that said they are the best burgers i have found.much better than mkmuks.and they do bacon rolls, what more could you want after a couple of beers

I was starving ! Thankfully Shoestrings was open and I was served by friendly staff who cooked me a freshly cooked burger with a choice of sauces and side dish. Delicious and filling would recommend.
