Great place lovely friendly staff

Highly recommended place. I went in with some friends for drinks, and we found it to be a cosy place with a friendly atmosphere fostered by lovely staff. Would definitely come again and try some more drinks.

Friendly welcome and a great array of beers. If I lived in Chippenham and needed to use the train a lot, I'd always secretly hope my train was late so that I could shelter in here for a while 😉

Wonderful little craft ale pub at the bottom of Station Road. My first visit last Saturday, very pleasant and polite young lady served me with a dozen or so cans to take out. Great selection and very reasonable prices, I just wish I wasn't driving as it looks the perfect spot for a few beers and watch the world go by.

Typical micropub in an ex shop. great choice of real ales and ciders. Ales £1 a pint dearer than in pubs which is typical of micropubs. Wine is expensive as is small bottles of soda water which makes rounds expensive.

It's always lovely to pop in with the dog, great atmosphere. They're regularly changing the ciders so I try a new one every visit. I like that you can bring you're own food, I've ordered chips from down the road and brought a brownie from the coffee shop, always accommodating

A small quirky, unique pub with seriously good craft beer and cider. Well worth a visit. They don't do food beyond the usual bar snacks but you are welcome to bring in a takeaway.

By far the best place to get a quality beer or cider in Chippenham. Always my ‘go to’ place when visiting family in the area. Friendly and knowledgeable staff…never threatening. Only criticism is that it can get busy due to it’s popularity, as it’s only a small venue…a good excuse to go early.

Fantastic little micro pub serving a variety of 9 craft beers (including a lager), plus real ciders. Very dog friendly, and welcoming to all. Food isn’t served, although some rather addictive bar snacks are readily available and drinkers are welcome to purchase takeaway food and consume with a drink. (NB: Very stinky food may not be as welcome)!

Ray has made this into my favourite spot for a beer in chippenham , the team are so lovely and the selection is cracking everytime.he is an absolute gent in every way. They also do the best pork scratchings I've had for ages.

Without a doubt the worst pub I have ever been to there were many reasons for this including the general cleanliness of the pub but also the piss poor management. Drink orders were mistaken multiple times and when this was raised to management I was screamed at by a clearly unstable management who not only scared myself but also multiple children that were present when he threatened us with bodily harm

HOWEVER TEMPTED TO SUPPORT AN INDEPENDENT BUSINESS PLEASE READ THIS FIRST BEFORE YOU DECIDE WHETHER THIS PLACE DESERVES YOUR HARD EARNED. IT DOESNT. Simply popped in for a beer and a game of backgammon with my wife and 10 year old daughter. Being a regular, I have always enjoyed this pub, but I now would very strongly recommend that EVERYONE BOYCOTTS this establishment until the landlord has been replaced/or the place shut down. I simply sat down whilst waiting to be served after 2 queue jumpers had managed to get served ahead of me (no doubt mates of the landlord). To my shock, the landlord came over and aggressively shouted at me in a clearly threatening, humiliating and intimidating manner, clearly interpreting my move to sit down as a "criticism of his service". This tirade was designed for the other customers to hear and designed to humiliate and intimidate. Despite saying nothing I was humiliated and then asked to leave, which left my wife upset and my daughter in floods of tears due to the highly aggressive and very intimidating manner that this message was delivered. This wasn't enough. I was pursued down station hill (all on CCTV) by the landlord who told me I was barred and threatened to "kick my f***ing head in". I stress, I had just finished ONE single beer, I'm a regular, was even there for the landlords 40th birthday recently, and did nothing to provoke this highly threatening and abusive attack. This landlord has always been very polite and helpful but I now have very serious concerns at how unstable he is, and how easily he misinterpreted my actions whilst watiting, threatening physical violence and barring my famly. If somebody simply sits down and waits until the queue dies down, it is just that, not a criticism, and certainly didn't warrant the outburst from the landlord. The fact he went from polite to threatening physical violence so quickly and without ANY provokation, should really be of concern for everyone, especially in the Licensing departments of Wiltshire Council/Wiltshire Police. Other parts of the country, somebody this unstable wouldn't be allowed an alcohol license. We used to love this pub because the beer was good and consistent, but if you can't go into a pub, enjoy a quiet pint and a game of backgammon without being chased half way down Station hill being threatened with physical violence, and then find your 10 year old daughter in floods of tears, then the place sadly needs to shut down, as the landlord IS CLEARLY UNFIT TO HOLD ANY FORM OF ALCOHOL LICENSE. Chippenham already has such a pub, we don't need another establishment where you go in for a quite pint and get threatened with having your head caved in. A good place ruined by an unstable, rude and evidently violent owner. Anybody who thinks it is fine to make a 10 year old little girl come out of their establishment in floods of tears, should NOT enjoy your custom. Go to the 3 Crowns instead. The beer is as good and there is no *sshole behind the bar. This incident was so threatening that it was reported to Wiltshire Police, ref 5420004666. I would please ask that people boycott this place until the landlord has apologised in FULL to my family, and done so publicly on here, including a withdrawal of his other threats/barring etc. DO NOT SPEND YOUR MONEY IN THIS PLACE UNTIL THE LANDLORD HAS LEARNED HE CANNOT TREAT CUSTOMERS LIKE THIS. REGULARS EVEN WORSE! IF THE LANDLORD WANTS TO DENY THIS, HE IS WELCOME TO TRY, I CAPTURED THE WHOLE THING ON MY MOBILE PHONE AND WILL PUBLISH THE VIDEO SHOULD HE ATTEMPT ANY FORM OF DENIAL. Seriously unstable guy. Either can't handle his booze or has serious mental health problems, either way, somewhere to avoid

Small shop size pub. Great range of drinks. I was drinking beer. Awesome taste. Food is only snacks, not much room for anything else in a micro pub!

Best craft beer bar in Chippenham, hands down

Excellent beer selection. Only pub of its kind in Chippenham that serves heaps of interesting beers. Personal highlight is that they always have a sour on tap. Limited seating so arrive early in the evening or be prepared to stand while waiting for a seat. Staff are extremely knowledgeable about beer and are friendly and will always have a chat. There’s a fridge of take away cans and bottles that is constantly rotating depending on what they’ve got in that week. Definitely the most interesting beer in Chippenham, absolutely worth a visit.

Charming and welcoming barman on Saturday afternoon, 5th August, who let us taste before buying. Real Ales and cider to suit all tastes. Our small group enjoyed all their choices of ale. I`m a cider drinker and can recommend the Mango cider - the only fruit cider I have really enjoyed. Given its size it does not sell food on site (nibbles are available) but there`s a sign saying you can bring your own from takeaways nearby. (Makes a quirky change to "BYO bottle"). The tables are a reasonable size. Prices pretty reasonable. What a shame we live in the South East otherwise we`d become regulars.

Good selection of real ales and ciders

The friendly bartender creates a great atmosphere where everyone feels at home. And as for the drinks - they are simply unparalleled! Every sip was a real pleasure. Thank you for an unforgettable evening and an exceptional experience. I highly recommend everyone to visit this wonderful pub!

A lovely little place, popped after a night hike from Bath and found a busy buzzing atmosphere with a great beer selection.

A little boozer in Chips that has good beers. If you imagine a charity shop ... Take their stuff out, get a few tables and chairs and maybe a little bar from someone's home pub shed with matching stools you have this micro pub... I like em... If you haven't yet been to one try em... Revisited 14th March still a cracker ❤️

Having been a couple of times now I can happily say it's my go to bar. A fantastic selection of beers and the new owner is a top bloke.

Hands-down the best spot for the tastiest of craft beers in Chippenham. There's nothing on tap, or in the fridge, that isn't a high-quality brew. Bar snacks are on offer but the micropub welcomes BYO food. My pineapple sour was excellent - served up by a friendly and knowledgeable fellow. A fine spot for a tasty stop.

It is certainly a micropub in size but not in character. Conveniently located en route from the train station and not too far from the town centre (5mins walk). A small seating area but frequently changing line up of local and boutique brewery beers and ciders. Surprisingly inexpensively priced and friendly staff and locals. A lovely 'little' find and definitely one to revisit.

An absolute gem of a pub. Great inviting atmosphere, friendly and sincere owners knowledgeable about the constantly changing keg and cask beers all perfectly stored and poured. If you want me on a Saturday afternoon through to early evening you now know where to find me.

A fantastic little pub with an amazing selection of beers, warm and friendly atmosphere run by a lovely couple. The guy with the beard really knows his stuff and made some excellent recommendations, although the sours weren’t for me!

My favourite pub in Chippenham for a while and it’s great to see how many keg beer options they have. Welcoming, very knowledgable bar manager. Good place for couples and mixed groups. If you want a Bristol beer type night out without making the treck to the city and paying Bristol high prices, check out the Prince of Wales.

Chippenham isn’t spoiled for decent pubs. However the Prince of Wales is a great place for a proper craft beer. Far better choice of beers on offer than probably all the other pubs in the vicinity.

We visited this micro brewery on a Sunday afternoon and I'd highly recommend. They serve a great variety of beers, ales and ciders, aswell as a selection of wine and spirits. Friendly staff, would highly recommend.

Tom provides many.varied beers from small breweries so there is always something to satisfy ones taste! As it is a micropup, a small number of customers provides atmosphere and in a short time everybody jois in the cobversation!

What a cute little place! Fair warning: if you don't like IPA, this may not be for you. But if you like good, local beer at very reasonable prices, this is for you. My favorite thing is that they tell you how far the brewery is from the pub, so you know when you're getting very local. My second favorite thing is the wide selection of cans and bottles to go (which is deeply helpful if you are also catching a train to London). Stop in, you won't regret it.
