Very good cafe lovely coffee and food hard to beat everyone should go there its amazing the sausage rolls are the number ones

Visited Coq from seeing all the great reviews and the menu offering both of us a good problem in what to order. Warm welcome, lovely ambience to the place and was relatively quiet for lunch. Ordered BangCoq and Mac and Cheese burger with fries to share. Big positives were the portion size and speed of service from ordering the fries were lovely and salty. However in a restaurant that specialises in chicken, unfortunately the positives on the food stopped at the sauce on the BangCoq. The chicken under the sauce was not crispy, it was almost sad, bland and tasted very oily. Without the sauce I would say it would not be enjoyable. The Mac and Cheese burger again suffered from a disappointing chicken, a little bit better but still bland and oily, again helped by the cheese sauce. Unfortunately on the mac cheese there were the fried onions you can buy as a salad topper in supermarkets so it added even more greasy flavour to a dish. Delicious food that everyone loved from young kids (3+) to the big kids (70+)! Very professional service and a great addition to my party with no need to prep/clean up, made everything easy and stress free!

Saturday 12 April 2025 Today, we came into this fantastic wooden floored pub a great real following, also and the staff are ace there is a smashing CAMRA discount The staff ace as earlier stated there is a grand amount real ales on The pub does a stupendous real ale festival, and these sort of pubs must be extremely appreciated by conifers of people imbibing good real ales

The coffee machine is very slow if there are many at breakfast. The dash across the courtyard in the rain for the evening meal was a bit much.

Wanted to like. Wanted to support local independents. But, honestly, not very good. Feels like someone has tried a gourmet burger somewhere else and gone: "I can do that!" Dry overcoooked patty. Unmelted cheese. All fell apart.

This cafe is now closed down for the foreseeable future.

Came in 20mins before closing on a Sunday and the two ladies there were so welcoming and kind. Curry goat is phenomenal - my only regret is not getting a second portion. I had the last meat patty (I think they were saving it to take home, very sweet to give it to us) and it was easily the tastiest patty I’ve ever had. So much flavour. This place lives up to its reputation. I think about that curry goat and patty on a daily basis. Wouldn’t go anywhere else to eat when in Chippenham.

Would give 0 if I could, lovely service and staff but absolutely awful, awful food and coffee. Dirty and gross toilets too.

Excellent food & great service. Ample parking just down the road. 100% recommend 😋

Great place with Spanish music. Paella was very tasty and loved the cocktails!

Huge range of pasties for every taste. Had the Traditional, which was good, but maybe just a little more salt?

Hidden gem. Absolutely Delicious food at a reasonable price. Good, friendly service. Quite good value. Paid about £22 per head. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options and the vege options were cheaper than the meat. Generous portions. Will definitely return.

We found this little Indian restaurant by chance when visiting the area. The staff is very friendly and helpful - gave us advice on best curry dish for us and our child. We had buhna, jalfrezi and patia. All very tasty and generous portions. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
