Haven’t been to Thai Taste (Kitchen) in ages and as it was our Anniversary we thought it would be a good place to go celebrate. We’ve been a few times over the years and even had a cheeky take away during Covid and have always enjoyed it. This evening was absolutely perfect, the restaurant is now open 5.30-10.30 every night which is great as so many places close week nights now. We had the mixed starter which was superb followed by a Pad Thai and a Beef Panang. All the food was perfectly cooked, crispy, fresh and delicious. Throughout the evening Yuphin was a brilliant host, so personable, fun and welcoming. Nothing was too much bother and we had such a nice time. Then to cap it all she brought us a complimentary dessert to help celebrate our special night. We’ve always loved going and today just made us love it more. In our opinion it’s one of the best restaurants in Wiltshire!

Good food. Good service. Will come back again. Highly recommend to all to come and try.. Thai basil and drunken duck is a must to try.

Great food, great staff and service

Had a meal with friends on friday. Staff were amazing,so friendly. Food was delicious served really quickly. Love this restaurant. Its a little hidden gem & Im so glad I found it. Took the rest of my meal home & kept that lovely happy feeling going for another day. You must go here,its great.

This is a quirky place but the people and the food are simply fantastic. We tried the set menu for two people and it was very impressive (in terms of both quantity and quality). We can strongly recommend this restaurant for genuine Thai flavours and hospitality

Lovely staff, and really nice food

This was my first visit to Thai Kitchen, as it's now known. We were in a large group. The food was lovely, and I took leftovers with me, as I didn't want to waste anything. I had the Garlic and Black pepper sea bass from chef's specials. I would definitely go again.

I ate here after a long day on a business trip. It was a very relaxing place and a great way to unwind after a long day's work. The serving staff were very pleasant and prompt. The food was excellent and moderately priced. I would definitely come here again, and have confidently recommended it to my colleagues for when they have to visit Chippenham.

Great restaurant in Chippenham with different dishes with authentic Thai flavours

It's OK, it is not expensive, the service is lovely and the Green Curry was ok, could have been a bit hotter. if we weren't in a big group I would have sent it back. The other dishes in the group were mixed. But overall OK. The thing that dropped from 4 to 3 stars is the wonky wobbly tables, fix that stuff and that the orders just came not all at once and one was wrong and we were only 6.

Amazing hidden gem of a restaurant. Great decor, internally and externally. The food was absolutely delicious. (I had food envy of my friends grilled aubergine and seafood tempura dish). Gorgeous Thai green curry and all the trimmings. Lovely friendly staff. I would dine here again!

The beef in both salad and curry were tough as rubber, rice is too dry, nothing like before. We were very disappointed by how the quality has changed, not even mention how much price has risen on menu. Staff are still friendly as usual tho.

Had a lovely meal with my partner tonight. Don't be afraid to ask them to tailor the spice level to your tastes.. 3 chillis really isn't that hot. But the flavours are amazing!!

A bit of a hidden gem which seems to be quite empty in general. Good food and friendly service. Not sure why it was so empty when we visited but will return in the interest of keeping a good thai place open :)

This is the 2nd visit and surely the last one! Im baffled by the reviews that say this has delicious food and foodies should visit! We are foodies and lost count of how many amazing Thai restaurants we visited around the UK in the last 5 years, and this by far the worst! Food isn’t authentic at all, overpriced, dirty plates and one of the server ladies beyond rude. After visiting it the 1st time a year ago we wanted to believe we were maybe unlucky/uninspired with what we’ve chosen to order, but after tonight it is clear this place has nothing of the lovely thai joys. While the starters were OK, the mains were terribly disappointing, both covered in cheap sweet chilli sauce. One of my favourite thai dishes is whole deep fried seabass with thai herbs salad- I ordered this here and it consisted of 2 not very fresh, badly seared fillets (not deep fried as it claimed!) drowned in sweet chilli sauce with some burned thai basil that was fried in the oil they fried the fish in and tasted foul! The rice was microwaved and the ribs were ok, but no thai flavours at all and again about 8 tablespoons of sweet chilli sauce on top. We felt ripped off, especially when the bill didn’t itemise anything and it was 10£ more than we calculated. To top it all, we both felt unwell for the last 3 hours. I would not recommend it.

Essen war gut, aber nicht scharf und es kam 5min nach der Bestellung. Erste Rechnung war ca. 51 Pfund. Bei Nachfrage wurde sofort innerhalb von Sekunden es neu auf dem Taschenrechner vorgerechnet und es kamen 41.65 Pfund heraus. Eine "Service Fee" war vorher nicht ersichtlich. Die alte Rechnung wollte sie nicht herausgeben und bei der neuen müsste sie erstmal übers Datum nachdenken. Mit Touristen kann man es ja machen.

This was divine. Lovely atmosphere, with absolutely great service and incredible food. You really get what you pay for. Would recommend to any local "foodie" to come and try out. Perfect for a date or an outing.

Great food, good Value for Money

Used to rate the thai massaman curry5 star it's changed recipe the last month and tastes no where as good such a shame been having it years

A Thai restaurant in the very unique, quaint setting of an 18th century beam building. Service was good, food was delicious. We had the set menu B for 2, £29 per person. Very generous servings (see photos!) Starters included delicious crispy spring rolls, prawn toast and satay chicken. The main course included Massaam chicken curry, stir fried vegetables, king prawns with vegetables and egg fried rice. All served beautifully and perfectly spiced. Would definitely recommend.

Food lacked depth of flavour, very disappointing

Previously was always a good place to eat out in the past but seems to have gone downhill somewhat. Our food was on the table within around 10 mins of ordering and did not taste fresh at all so assume food was out of fridge and heated in microwave. It for sure tasted like a microwave ready meal which is much cheaper to buy in the local supermarket. What a shame and I will not be returning there.

We dined here on Easter Sunday. It was quite frankly awful. I ordered tempura vegetables for my starter but was given spring rolls! My husband ordered a hot and spicy soup which could only be described at hot brown water! When our mains came my noodles were like mushy cardboard and like a congealed blob on a plate. My husband had a curry which was ok but we specifically asked to have no peas in it but it had loads in. I've never been served sticky rice in a plastic bag straight from the microwave either. We will definitely not be returning. No atmosphere and waitresses not very attentive.

We tried to ignore the clutter and rubbish in the entrance, the boxes of Christmas decorations and heavily draped cobwebs over everything including the reindeers (it’s late March). Vaguely greeted by a scruffy woman from the bar wearing clothes with more creases than crepe paper. The menus are difficult to read as a lot of the print had rubbed off, the print just comes off on your fingers when holding, try and ignore the spelling mistakes! Tables are not set out like the gallery pictures, tables wonky, no glasses on tables, dirty cutlery. I wanted to leave, I had to give it a chance. All foods contain fish sauce oo milk, yet they say vegetarian and allergies etc catered for.. In the short ten minutes we waited for our food, it was quite repulsive seeing the enormously heavy cobwebs and filth everywhere, even the carpets were dirty. Food was a two chilli rating, even a spice resistant person could have eaten these feeble and tepid curries, the rice needed a knife and fork to get out of the bowl, to use a spoon would have resulted in a bowl shaped dollop of cold rice. It was raining when we left, whilst we stood in the entrance that resembled skip contents, we waited a few minutes for it to ease, Two blimin huge rats ran out from the kitchen side door between us! AVOID, POOR FOOD STANDARDS, POOR STANDARDS OF FOOD AND ENVIRONMENTAL HYGIENE. DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER, UNLESS YOU HAVE PITTY FOR THE RATS AND WISH TO REHOME THEM!

Apon arrival you go to the left hand side of the building for the restaurant. Menus needed updating as some was fading. Seating was well set out and not too cramped. Lady serving us was very polite and helpful. There was 8 of us and the food came out fast and hot. Every one of us really enjoyed our food. I had chicken satay for starter and I must say it was the best satay chicken I've had yet. Needed more peanut sauce though. For my main I had chicken massaman curry with jasmine rice. The curry had lovely deep authentic Thai flavours and really took me back to being in Thailand. Food was a good portion size. Prices was very good compared to being in Bath or any other city. Definitely coming back here again soon

There is a lovely atmosphere in the area where you eat, however it is separated from the bar area. That does mean the service is quite poor because they don't have a full view of the people eating. There was no welcome, when I came in. There was no how was the food type of questions halfway through and there was no real warm goodbye at the end.... So you scored low for service..... My chicken with basil had a good flavour but the soup was not as good as that.... To be frank, rather than making it sour with tamarind, a large quantity of lemon juice had been used instead which made it quite unpalatable And of course my favourite hate is serving sticky rice in a plastic bag that's been microwaved, it wouldn't have taken much to take it out of the plastic bag...... The other observation is the plastic folded menus were starting to lose some of the details and a few of the dishes were effectively rubbed off the menu...... If only they could be more welcoming it would have helped a great deal.

A warm welcome, friendly and efficient service. The mixed starter platter is something special. In fact all 4 of us had different dishes and were very impressed. This will become a regular visit in future.

Very good authentic food, support this restaurant. Takeaway is the same quality as the restaurant. Went there with family and friends New Year's eve. Excellent

One of my favourite restaurants to visit, I've been here many times to dine in and have had takeaway a few times too, service is always excellent with very friendly staff. The food is always great and is prepared fast, definitely worth the price! The atmosphere is relaxing and calm with dimmed lights.

Lovely location and good, authentic Thai food with generous portions. I suggest being clear when ordering as I asked hot and sour (Tom Yum) soup but was given the much richer Tom Kha though they replaced it (my wife also ordered a small wine and received a big one). My email and contact form reservation were also not received so I recommend calling. Around £30/head for 2 courses & drinks. Minor points as overall a really enjoyable meal even though they were very busy on a Saturday night.

Good service and good food. Awkward way they took payment. We were a party of 12 but would only accept one card in payment. I ended up pay for us all and getting the money back from others over the following days.

I was staying locally and found this restaurant via google. Very tasty food, quick service. The only thing that’s spoiled the experience the waitress was abit pushy about ordering drinks

We enjoyed a lovely meal in great surroundings. The service was second to none, very friendly and personal. Advice was given on the choices on the menu with suggestions on how to vary things next time. Loved it 💚

Delicious Thai food and great banter from staff. Restaurant set in an old building but toilets could do with an update however. Would return next time I'm in town.

Had a fantastic authentic Thai takeaway from here. Had set menu B, and found it all really tasty, from the rice to the duck, incredible flavours. massaman curry delicious. Cant recommend highly enough, and im a harsh critic when it comes to food!!

I’ve been about 10 times to Thai Taste and with good reason. The standard never slips. Wonderfully welcoming staff and the food is absolutely delicious. If it’s your first time try the Penang curry. Couldn’t recommend more. 11/10.

Food was average service was very slow, dessert menu reduced to one item with choice of ice-cream,card machine not available cash only, not told in advance. Staff brilliant and setting warm and welcoming.

Came with a friend not knowing what to expect, first impression was a nice large and clean place with very friendly staff. The menu isn't huge however think fewer dishes cooked to a high standard over wide variety. Had 2 courses and 2 drinks and it came to just over £25. Fantastic value, thoroughly enjoyed and looking forward to the next visit.

We are from London and visited the Thai Place after a day trip to Longleat. It was lovely. The staff is really friendly and the food is excellent.

Went here for a birthday dinner and thoroughly enjoyed. It was authentic Thai, with a lovely atmosphere, very friendly staff and the most fantastic food! The portion sizes were great, very filling and the flavours were amazing! We chose the mixed starter, that had lots of different foods included. All of these were wonderful. Pad Thai and Tom Yum soup for mains, which were both utterly delicious. Will definitely be back!

By far the best thai for miles, drive from bath to chippenham every week sometimes twice, tried every thai in Bath nowhere comes close, the thai basil sauce is to die for full of flavour and very authentic, highly recommend you will not be disappointed and if you are then stick to chinese

Great Thai restaurant and takeaway. Am pleased to see TT open for takeway and really busy. Food is great and the staff are too. Good selection of tasty Thai dishes. Staff and customers all observing wearing of masks when takling orders and picking up - one idiot (customer) clearly didn't feel that he had to wear a mask so was told to wait outside in the rain.

Lovely food, me and my partner are discussing whether we think this is the best restaurant in Chippenham! As vegetarians, this restaurant provides great options. One note for the restaurant; we would love it if the takeaway containers could be recycled?

I genuinely feel so lucky to live near to this place. I've been eating here for over 7 years now - and its always delivered in flavour and ingredients. During COVID they're only offering takeaways - but they are just as delicious at home. The team are incredibly welcoming - and I love catching up with them whenever I see them. This is my ultimate 'go to' Thai place in Wiltshire - still highly recommeded after 7 years.

Visited with some colleagues. Fairly random choice, but definitely one we will be repeating. Place was packed which is unusual for a Tue evening in Chippenham. We had shared starters. I had a red curry. Both were very nice

A very good little restaurant, the food is excellent and authentic. Seems a little bit understaffed when we went with a charming lady doing everything, leading to some delays. But overall we enjoyed it with good portions and ok prices.

The way the manager treats the staff working there is absolutely awful. I also found hair in my food and a lady on the table next to me have red wine split all down her whilst being served. The food took a long time to come with no explanation. Avoid at all costs
