Thai Orchid in Wiltshire

What a little gem this is! I travel to Frome from London frequently, but lately, my hubby has been picking me up at Westbury station and we pop in for a meal at the Thai Orchid, instead of savouring the delights of Frome restaurants! The food is tasty and authentically Thai and service friendly and efficient. Can't wait for my next trip to Westbury.

Such a beautiful and accommodating restaurant. The staff were all very polite and made such a fuss of us. We had our dog with us and was given a table outside to eat. They gave us a bowl of water for her as well. The food was so lovely, full of flavour and plenty of it. Highly recommend it. If we lived closer, it would be a regular of ours, but sadly we are 3 hours away. We will be back.

The food is delicious! The service is also very good, the waiters are very friendly, all plates arrived without delay (hot and fresh) and we thought is pretty affordable! We are coming back!

Very welcoming and with prompt service. The starters were very tasty and of a good size. The main meals were cooked to perfection. A lovely experience. Pricey but worth the money.

Visited on an overnight stay in Westbury and were glad we did. We both ordered off the vegetarian menu and our meals were delicious, service was really fast and staff were nice and attentive too. We were also given vegetable crackers which was a really nice touch before our starter came. Very reasonably priced considering quality of the food.

The Tom Yum soup is the most delicious soup ever. The food smells absolutely delicious, my husband recommends the steak with Asian Salad, and the pad Thai and pad mee. You won't be disappointed after eating here. A lovely family restaurant.

Celebrated my birthday with an evening meal at the Thai Orchid with my wife. Have wanted to go here for years and was not disappointed. Very warm welcome, superb atmosphere and the food was excellent. The food and wine were very reasonably priced and will be back soon with family & friends. Highly recommended.

This is my all time favourite place for dinner. Whether we eat in or takeaway, it is consistently amazing. The staff are always friendly and happy to help.The food is just incredible, everything i have is always so tasty and fresh.

I’ve had a couple of take aways from the Thai Orchid and it’s always been good, but this weekend we celebrated my mothers birthday there and it was nothing less than outstanding. Top notch food, great service and excellent value. We’ll be back. Regularly.

Very good thai food as good as Phucket

Superb restaurant. Really tasty dishes and excellent portion sizes and the Chang beer complements the food well. The staff are attentive, really helpful and the service is great. I would recommend this place and will visit again if in the area.

Great authentic Thai in Westbury! I recently visited with my mother and father on our way home. I had the sweetcorn cakes and Thai basil tofu. Great food and portion sizes. Everyone enjoyed their dishes and the staff were very attentive on a Thursday evening.

Amazing place and great food a wonderful time

My sister and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal which was Tamarind duck. This was sizzling and was delicious as was the coconut rice. A lovely place to enjoy a good meal. Thank you Thai Orchid.

Best thai food I've ever had as someone who is gluten free, amazing!

I was in town for business, alone, and decided to eat at this restaurant and I am very glad that I did. The hostess who I believe to be the owner was really lovely and made me feel very at home whilst recommending the best desert I’ve had at a Thai restaurant ever! The fried duck was incredible too, not a huge fan of the sauce and would ask for it on the side next time. If I’m ever back in town, I’ll be here for dinner for sure!

I have been to the Thai orchid quite a few times over the years and have generally been happy. This time was awful. The staff were unhelpful and implacable and I did not enjoy my meal. I will not be going back in the foreseeable future.

Ordered online. I’m veggie but can’t eat tofu. I ordered the veg curry that didn’t have tofu. We had to pick it up as no delivery which was fine. When we opened it, it contained tofu despite not listing that on the menu. When phoning them she said ‘Yes I put tofu in my veg curries’ didn’t seem to have a clue that it wasn’t listed online. If I had eaten any of that I would have been ill. She really didn’t seem that bothered. Said she’d make another one with tofu but I’d have to pick it up. When mentioning trading standards her attitude slightly changed!! So family night spoilt as everyone else was eating while I had to make beans on toast…. Not impressed. If you have an allergy or don’t like something don’t trust their online menu

We had a takeaway yesterday, one duck red curry and one salmon. They both were excellent with improved sauces. The best we have ever had. Well done Thai Orchid.

I have been thai orchid for around 5 years now. Its great every time with lovely friendly service. Always greeted with a smile, this what I also love about the friendliness of their culture. The food is authentic Thai cuisine to a high standard but last night it has improved yet again with the authentic taste and is perfect. Very much must visited Thailand again but as a tourist it's more difficult to get good Thai food. Actually looking forward to the kitchen being ripped out this week so I can eat Thai orchid again

Waw, what a beautifully flavoured meal

We decided to go for set menu C and received a real mixed bag. Some dishes were excellent and some hideous. For starter, chicken satay skewers were lovely but prawn rolls tasted like cardboard. Main meal, Prawn red curry was excellent but Duck and cashew dish was pretty tasteless with flabby duck skin. The sizzling beef dish had hardly any beef. For the price we paid, we should have had much better quality.

Lovely meal, staff were attentive, efficient and friendly. Gets my vote as a decent place to spend an evening.

Went here for a family meal. Had a really nice time, the food was incredible and the staff so helpful and friendly. The restaurant was a little dated and the door kept blowing open. Apart from that I would highly recommend

Unfortunately we wasn’t that keen. It was average for us. The chicken in the chicken toast was grey and put me off. For mains we had the beef teraki. The beef was very fatty and the noodles didn’t have much of a taste. There was also a hair in the noodles.

Eaten in about a month ago service was great, good menu selection very enjoyable experience. Ordered takeaway online for new year. Again prompt and polite service. Food was hot and ready when it said it would be. Quality of food very good will definitely be visiting again.

I'll get the negative out of the way first. A bit expensive, but... Lots of good choice for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free and the meat eater too. Nice decoration and layout. Service attentive. Food lovely and good sized portions. When we had finished our meal, they brought out the birthday cake I had taken in for my son. They had decorated the plate, put in a lighted candle and sang him Happy Birthday on delivery! Would recommend.

I cannot rate this Thai enough. Went away for a few days to bath with my family had dinner at this restaurant, which was amazing . The food was lovely the service was great. My teenage son left his bag on the chair he didn’t notice until we was on our way home. Called the restaurant and they sent the bag recorded delivery to us back in Kent. Within 2 days. Thank you so much. Next time I’m in bath I will make sure I go back again x

Amazing food, the staff are incredibly helpful even at the most busy times. We did get brought the wrong dish once, but they apologised and let us keep it free of charge while they got us the correct one! They even pointed out what is and isn't vegetarian on the set meals the people I was with ordered, so I knew what I could try if I wanted. The portion sizes are also very generous. The vegetarian menu is probably the most varied one I've seen anywhere, and everything I had was delicious. I can't wait to visit again and try more of the options.

We went with friends for dinner to The Thai Orchid and we really pleased with the entire evening. On arrival the staff were pleasant and very helpful. The food we ordered was excellent, tasteful and beautifully presented. All in all, a wonderful meal in Westbury. On leaving all the staff, including those in the kitchen waved goodbye to us with wonderful warm smiles too. ! Whilst we are not from Westbury we hope to return one day.

Last night ordered a takeaway at 6.30pm, was told it would be a 45 minute wait, told to pick up at 7.15, which was fine! But on arrival 7 other people all clustered in the restaurant We’re also waiting... we got forgotten about! People arriving after & getting food! I asked were our food was they said, one more dish ten minutes later, then gave us our food. I checked it before we left & it was all cold but that one dish! They offered us some prawn crackers for it! So annoyed as this as it is the second time it happened! NEVER GOING BACK SO UNORGANISED & goes against all food laws to serve hot! NO NO NO disappointed as we were regular customers! since Christmas it’s been a flop! Awful service & they take on too much, don’t take o pin what you can’t handle

We visited Thai Orchid on a recommendation that it was an authentic Thai with super service. Our expectations were exceeded on all fronts! The menu was diverse, food superb and well-priced and the service was also great. There was no pressure to leave despite being there until 40 minutes after closing and it was refreshing to see that service charge is not automatically added to the bill. Looking forward to our next visit!

We popped in here on our way back home to Cardiff (from the New Forest). They were so friendly and accommodating (to us and our 5 yo) despite being very busy and the fact that we hadn’t made a booking. The food was amazing and reasonably priced. The entire experience was faultless!

I love this Thai restaurant, its in my top 2 between this and a place called Thai Barn in Bradford on Avon. The food is top quality. I would bet my house on anyone going there falling in love with it. Top marks!

We arrived early on a Saturday evening before it got busy. Table had a translucent protective screen up to shield from another nearby table. Food came quickly and the environment was clean. The meal was excellent. Lots of people coming and going for takeaway but the sit down experience was fab. I had green Thai chicken and asked for medium spicy and it was spot on to my taste. 2 starters, 2 pints of coke and 2 mains with rice's came to £39. Well worth it!

We were here for a weekend break from London for our wedding anniversary and my wife loves Thai food. I found Thai Orchid and placed. takeaway order, the staff were very welcoming and advised it was a busy night but gave a time to collect. Food was ready on time, service with a smile, and the food was delicious. As regular visitors to Thailand, the food had authentic flavours and both me and the wife were very happy. Fantastic Food, Fantastic Staff!! Very chilled atmosphere, The staff tended to our needs spectacularly and went above and beyond. Even give us a complimentary pudding for our anniversary. Highly recommend to anyone who likes Thai cuisine.

The food is OK. Tried it as a new Thai restaurant different from Bradford or Frome, but wouldn't travel to Westbury again for it. Lost another star because even though we ordered 3hours in advance it was plainly obvious they didn't even start prepping until we arrived at pick up time. I then had to wait 30minutes, outside because I didn't want to stand in a room with 20 other people and staff not even attempting social distancing.

Had a family takeaway at the weekend for a change. The food was fantastic. The chicken and veg all seemed really fresh and it had a home cooked feel. Everyone enjoyed it and we look forward to trying different dishes next time.

The exterior didn't look too special, but I am so glad we ventured inside. The staff here are friendly and helpful, the tables are well spaced but allow a good atmosphere to develop, and the food is fantastic. Starters were tasty and fairly substantial and the extensive menu provides mains to suit everyone.
