Thai Orchid is still my favourite Thai restaurant in Salisbury. The food is absolutely delicious, and so well presented. The staff are very friendly and really look after you. Inside it has beautiful wooden carvings in the tables and chairs and the ambiance makes you feel like you are in Thailand with the traditional, calming music. Thank you so much for another great meal!

Totally satisfied and highly recommending it. We arrived at 19:30 on a Friday night and was taken to the first floor as the ground floor is full. The atmosphere is great - nice Thai-style wooden chains, patterned placemats and painting on the wall, and most importantly relaxing music. I felt like I am in a nice Thai SPA room. The food is very nice and served with delicate dishes, bags and candle base. We had sticky rice and green curry with pork, which is spicy but definitely delicious yummy when mixed together. The starter combo including chicken satay, spring roll, prawn toast and stick fried prawn is hot and tasty, which are well suited on mixed vegetables that have been flavored with sweet sauce. We also had a Thai fried noodle with prawn which was so welcomed by kids. The iced milk tea is also great. Overall this is one of the best Thai cuisine we had in the UK and all the staff are very professional and kind. Highly recommend!

Came upon this lovely Thai restaurant whilst on a stopover in Salisbury. Fabulous food, amazing flavours. The coconut rice is the best ever, cooked in coconut milk and so creamy. Great service too. Highly recommend.

Maybe it's a little expensive, but really worth the money. Been there many times and the food it's amazing. Great place, it's not a fast food. May take 10 minutes or more until your food it's served. Been there a few times after my last review and still love the place. Absolutely love the fried rice.

We have visited the restaurant a couple of times and the food and service has always been top notch.

🕓 I visited Thai Orchid on Thursday 2 May 2024 in the early evening, a weekday during term time.  I was with two other people.  This was my first visit. 📍I used Google Maps to find the restaurant, which was easy and led me straight to the right place. 🅿️ There is ample parking nearby at Salisbury - Central (Short Stay) Car Park - parking is free after 6pm and there's a short cut between the car park and the restaurant, passing by Salisbury Playhouse. 🍽 The restaurant comprises of one small main dining area with plenty of tables with full table service.  The restaurant was brightly decorated. 🤗 The team were friendly and welcoming and I had no issues - we got everything we expected in good time and enjoyed the experience. 🍲 I enjoyed Gai Satay for my starter and Gai Phad Priew Wan for my main course.  The food arrived hot, was well presented and tasted really good.  There was a good selection of food and I found something that appealed to me easily.  One of my party went completely off menu and enjoyed a Thai omelette which the team were more than happy to cook for her. 💷 The food was very good value for money, I paid around £26 for the two dishes plus prawn crackers and a soft drink. ⭐️ Overall I enjoyed my visit and would definitely come and visit again. ⏳️ I spent around 2 hours here.

Party of 4, everyone enjoyed their food which was served hot and beautifully presented. Delicious Thai green curry. Portion sizes were good. Service was good. Highly recommended.

Thought we’d try due to the good reviews we’d read but the food, whist nice, was rather bland (expected more with one chilli marked on the menu) compared to what we are used to. Very friendly and decent service.

Hmmmmmm, popped in yesterday and disappointed with the quality of food. Chicken satay starter was very greasy and seemed reconstituted chicken, not good. Main course, not very hot and again the chicken was poor, I like chicken pieces without chicken skin attached. As for the weird squares of, god knows what, tried one, tasted of oily fat, YUK !!

Whe going to Salisbury we always make a beeline for this place for lunch, A two course deal, just gone up to £12.95. Excellent flavour and always tastes crisp , fresh and excellent presentation. Probably the best Tom Yum soup around !

Excellent food, very well presented, great service and a nice atmosphere, and all at a very reasonable price. We will definitely be dining here again on our next visit to Salisbury.

Good service and great food which was very reasonably priced. Whilst many Thai restaurants carve beautiful flowers from fruit and vegetables the carved bird was particularly lovely.

Wonderful restaurant, great Thai food.

Staff very friendly. The starters were amazing and the mains in the most were too. One slight less 🌶️ than expected but all in all a brilliant meal. Happy to recommend.

Really friendly place and the food presentation was beautiful. They were helpful with the menu (as i needed gluten free) and the food was delicious, definitely going there again.

We spent the day in Salisbury having got the train in for a change of scenery. I looked at restaurants before we went at booked the Thai orchid for 6pm before outlets train home. We had mixed starters, satay, toasts, spring rolls and money bags, all were lovely(money bags weren’t my favourite). I had a prawn Penang curry which was gorgeous and my husband had some sort of sweet and sour chicken which he devoured. It was reasonably priced and as good as I’ve eaten in Thailand. The next time we are in Salisbury we will return

Visited with another couple. The food was excellent and the service staff very attentive.

We are lucky in Salisbury that we have several very good Thai restaurants. So far this is the best of a very good bunch. Thought the food quality and the value for money were extremely good. Crispy Duck in honey starter was the standout - its not like Chinese crispy duck (pancakes etc) but comes in slices.

There were only 2 tables of two for lunch and yet our one course still took 25 mins to arrive. The ither tabke's food was also very slow to arrive. My Pad Thai was quite greasy but otherwise OK. My husband enjoyed his duck dish but we had to hurry our food as we only had 45 mins for lunch which we thought would be fine, given it was very quiet and we were only ordering one course.

A dependable choice offering good food and friendly efficient service. We visited early evening on a warm day and I could have wished the aircon was switched on but a fan provided some basic cooling. Limited on-street parking but it’s only a short walk to the multi-storey car park in the town centre. It’s quite small so best to book a table at peak times.

We booked a table here due to the very high Trip Advisor ratings. We had been in Salisbury for the day, so decided to eat as soon as the restaurant opened at 5:30pm. We were the first ones there, and I was surprised to see it filling up with diners over the next 45 minutes (considering it was still very early evening). The food was great - probably on a par with most of the Thai restaurants we've visited in various cities. The waiter was attentive, and the lady (possibly the owner?) was very sweet. Would visit again.

Staff were friendly and the service was fast. Food however was not good in our opinion. Far too sweet, more like Chinese food than thai food. We barely ate any of it which was pretty disappointing.

Amazing vegetarian curry! One of, if not the best curries I’ve ever eaten. Thai Orchid is possibly my favourite restaurant to eat in. On reflection, I would travel from home to this restaurant (an hour long trip) just to eat here again. Thank you 🙏

A quiet restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. All the decorations were beautiful and the food was excellent. Service was very friendly even when my friend was late and I was holding the table longer than intended. Food very affordable and delicious. I would definitely visit again.

My friend and I visited this restaurant as we had not had Thai food for a while. We were so glad we chose Thai Orchid as it was the best Thai food either one of us had tasted. As well as the wonderful food, the decor was stunning and the service was excellent. I would recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

In my personal experience (I have been to Thailand, North and South) with the Thai restaurants in the UK, this little place is up at the top. The mixed starters were the best I've experienced in the UK. Papaya salad was good, it could've been hotter. Other than that it was excellent in what is a humble Thai restaurant. Hoping to return soon.

Beautiful authentic food with very subtle yet amazing flavour.

Being from Andover we fancied some nice food and decided to drive to Salisbury for some Thai. Never been here before, got there and asked for their suggestions complete free reign. And my goodness... I had a traditional green curry and ive never in my life tasted anything like it, their suggestion was perfect. Asked if I was ok with spice, im not sure how close it was to how they would have it but the kick on it was enough to make your skin tingle in all the right ways. My Mum had a beef dish that I forgot the name of, this was also amazing, flavours everything about it was perfect. It was a take away meal, 10-15 min from placing my order it was ready. Prices roughly 16 Pounds each including their Pork dumplings (THESE ARE A MUST!!!!) I love a good dumpling and i think if I could id eat Thai Orchid ones all day!! Staff were so friendly, though confused by the request, I know very different... 10 / 10 will definitely be back. Thank you for the amazing food.

I was very happy with the food at Thai Orchid. Went right when it opened and I could hear them making my food in the back. Everything I had tasted fresh. I ordered, the Thai green curry, coconut rice and the pad thai with prawns. All tasted great. Slight wait but not too long. Was a little worried that I was the only one there but lots of people kept coming in for takeaway. Seems like a popular place. If I'm ever in Salisbury again I'd go back.

A beautiful atmospheric restaurant with delicious food, highly recommend. Seating down and upstairs. Tip for the end of the meal: they will bring you the bill, which you take downstairs to pay at the counter which you might not be used to, especially US guests.

Popped in for the lunch time two course special. Friendly staff, excellent food. I have eaten here before on an evening a few years ago and I would say the banquet was excellent value with so many different courses and flavours, but obviously the lunch was just a starter and a main. Even so, the food was really good. Not huge portions, as long as you take this into account, a great lunch venue. The banquet, now that is a lot of food to contend with!

Arrived, first lunchtime customer and took a really slow 20 mins to order....felt ignored and had to call waiter over and then only half dishes delivered...partner had to wait another 5 mins while my food got cold...I ordered Pad Krapow and the dishes that was delivered bore no resemblance to this..... This dish should be minced pork and lots of Thai basil etc. There was none of that to be seen on the plate and what was there was very mild and tasteless...... This was a very disappointing lunch......

This place serves excellent authentic Thai place. Coming from a south East Asian well versed in Thai food, this says a lot. Also super friendly servers.

Small Thai Restaurant....but with steep prices! For few Rice, a quasi free food supplement of a main menue, you have to pay 3,95 £. The foot dish was tasty, indeed, but disproportionate expensive, so bring enough money. ;-)

We live in Salisbury and consider this the best Thai restaurant. Giggling Squid is good but we find the food better at Thai Orchid. The food is fresh and delicious and service is great.

Every time I visit Salisbury I come to this nice little Thai restaurant: the food is amazing, it has an authentic feel and it seems to be a family owned business. Portions are big and nicely served, prices are reasonable and the menu is rich....

Absolutely Scrumptious meal. Mixed starter was delicious and fresh, good choices. Curries were VERY good, rich, thick and tasty. Decent size, good amount of rice. Was all kept hot. Also service was perfect and really really lovely people. Highly recommend!

Easiest review I've ever written - in my top three meals out of all time. We're both vegan and the food was of an outstanding quality. The prices are reasonable, although it would have been nice to see a cheaper basic noodle dish which was vegan. Otherwise faultless and lovely waiters. 10/10.

Booked a table for 6 at 7.30 on Sat night on recommendation. When we arrived it was busy, we had to wait 10 mins before they sat us at table. All understandable and no complaints ; in fact we took this as a good sign....

We were v disappointed with our meal at the Thai Orchid, especially as one of our party had eaten there before and had a lovely meal. After reserving a table the day before for 6 people, we arrived at our booking time and had to wait 10mins to be seated as they were busy. No worries there - busy is a good sign, we thought! We then had to wait 20 mins before e someone came to our table to take orders - hmmm... this isn't going so well. But the real disappointment was yet to come. We ordered at 7.50pm and our main courses didn't arrive until 9.15pm! when they came the food was a big disappointment - 2 of the dishes were lukewarm and had we not been so hungry at this point we would've asked them to be taken back and reheated. It was clear then that the restaurant had overbooked and had got greedy, yet the lack of any recognition or effort to compensate for this - no complimentary starter / dessert/ coffee made us feel much less inclined t come back and also to let others know of our bad experience. Maybe you'll get luckier than us - but defo be warned - this place puts profit before customer experience !
