A wonderful little shop with all types of vintage items and a comfy spot to have tea coffee or hit chocolate. Good cakes too. Thoroughly recommend

Everything you want in an Ice Cream Van. Just add sun and your good to go. Mine is a double flake in a large cone.

We love coming to Crab House Cafe, but it seems the menu hasn’t changed much in 3 years. I would expect to see exciting dishes like Whole Plaice, Dover Sole, Turbot, Monkfish, John Dory. Instead there was Gurnard, Sea Bass, Haddock, Pollock, Ray Wings, Lemon Sole twice. Seems to be the cheaper fish only. Lemon sole is very cheap and there was 2 different dishes of this, why? It’s great to have crab, mussels, oysters, etc but please try and use the best white fish. I actually made this point to the cafe 3 years ago so I won’t hold my breath.

Mixed review: A warm and friendly welcome, clean and tidy. Day one: breakfast was lovely, all appeared freshly cooked so it took a little longer, the food was nice and of great value. Feel like there was a whole can of beans for the 'beans on toast' and it was piping hot. The pot of tea was plentiful The 'coffee' milkshake was more like warm milk, not the best. Day two: ordered the thick shake this time - meant to be with ice cream and so thought that would make it cooler and tastier - wrong, it was the same as the previous visit with cream and sprinkles - not the best (if you want a nice thick iced coffee, visit the White Stones cafe). The food took a bit longer again as it was Sunday and busy. The mushroom on toast was cold but we were on a time crunch, so we couldn't send it back. The taste was nice, just cold and the black pudding was a bit on the rubbery side. Everyone else enjoyed theirs.

Never had a successful order from them whether it's missing drinks, or an order not arrived in 5 hours and totally forgot about. Well tonight is it, we are done with them. Order 2 Curry Sauces, and wrote in the notes very clearly, 1 x Korma Sauce and 1 x Tikka Massala sauce. Order arrives and it's 2 tikka masalla sauces. Annoying but mistakes happen, here's where it goes from annoying to downright disgraceful. First lady who answers, wonderful, wanted to help, offered to deliver on next run, then manager in background wanted to talk, asked my address, and said no no you order 2 tikka masalla, I was adament I didn't, even brought up my receipt just to even second guess myself as he was that adament. After some rude to and fro'ing I just said you know what forget it. One thing getting orders wrong, delivery always taking ages, but once your customer service stinks so rotton like that, that's disgraceful

Me and my partner are on holiday in Portland and tried the food here, it was very nice, much better than the food I've had at other Chinese restaurants. There was a bit of a wait for the food but it was a Friday night so that's to be expected. Would recommend. We had salt and pepper chicken, salt and pepper chips, egg friend rice, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style and chicken satays on skewers.

Haven’t tried for a while since they closed but it used to be excellent. Seems to have gone downhill since reopening. Chips were brown and tasted like old oil, very greasy and not great. The cod, although the batter was cooked well, tasted awful. Again tasted like old cooking oil and the fish itself was very dry and had a lot of hard bits which was weird. Curry sauce was that strange lumpy, cheap stuff and not good at all. Also found a small piece of bone. Husband had battered sausage, again horrible batter - it was very soggy and the sausage was soft. won’t be coming back.
