Frontline Cafe in Weymouth and Portland

Just went there to see what it was like, wanted a pot of tea but they only do cups, it's like an industrial unit not the sort of place for tea etc I won't go again

Shame to see such poor reviews and for somewhere where I’ve never been disappointed though we tend to go earlier in the day or later afternoon with the dog. Always great coffee and decent bacon and sausages not cheap alternatives. As said try to ho at least once a week and always met with decent service and good grub. Had a breakfast burger today and was great value in my opinion. Please don’t be put off my the negative reviews

It is such a shame this cafe used to be excellent but is rapidly going down hill. They have stopped selling their coffee in the shop (can only be bought online if you are happy to wait weeks) the service for food at the weekend was supposed to be 30 mins it was actually 55 and the poached eggs I had were like bricks completely inedible. Some of the staff are excellent but they are being put in an impossible situation by the management, staff are repeatedly having to apologise to customers for the delays and then taking the flack from customers who are not happy.

£5.50 for a mediocre coffee and the smallest piece of cake known to man. Plus a 15 minute wait for the coffee when it seems very quiet.

We visited the café at the weekend, it was a nice atmosphere at first but soon turned into a teenage hangout spot with lots of kids riding their scooters in and out of the shop and being loud and obnoxious. From what I could gather they had only ordered water too. Our coffees were slightly warm and served in a takeout cup despite sitting indoors and our food took 40 plus minutes to come and was undercooked. The staff seemed unenthusiastic about there jobs, they lingered around and sat at tables eating food and drinking milkshakes. In my opinion this is unprofessional, they should take lunch breaks somewhere else. Especially when all the tables were filthy and lots of mess around the café. Clean up then have a break! We come to this cafe alot, but after our recent visit we may consider somewhere else. Young staff with no customer service skills or general knowledge on keeping a cafe tidy, also no controll over teenagers taking it upon themselves to use it as a hang out spot, being loud and using bad language.

So decided to try the frontline cafe. We decided to sit inside. The coffee was delivered in a paper cup. I did so you are joking we are sat inside. 20mins later the breakfast arrived. Was I pissed that too was on a fcuking paper plate. First and last time we shall be going there

Having been here a couple of times before we thought it would be a good place to have a spot of lunch whilst out on a cycle ride on a lovely sunny day. How wrong I was, it was 2.30, not really busy, just two young girls working, taking orders etc and one person cooking, I ordered a coffee, with food, this should've been straight forward really but I stood and waited for ages as one girl just stood at the till and the other just wander around, after asking twice for my drink it was made and was then only luke warm! Around 40 minutes later (and after hearing that some people had given up waiting for their orders and had had refunds), I asked where our food was, rudely I was told there was a long wait, but it wasn't busy and I wasn't told this when I ordered! A few minutes later our order arrived, the burger was good, the picture I've added here was my order of a 'foot long hot dog' presented with raw onion and the smallest roll ever!! In disbelief I took it back and was offered another meal which I declined due to the wait time only to be told again there was a long wait! I was given a full refund for our meal, but either way I won't be having coffee or food from here again!

Grossly overpriced coffee.wont be going g again.It never used to be like this when it first opened,I do not understand what is going g on.

I am so surprised how this place has received so many 5/5 reviews. I was extremely disappointed with the food. I had a vegan burger and it tasted like a cross between budget airplane food and tinned meat! The chips were tasteless little fries, almost looked like they had been ‘refried’. The portions were very small and the price very high. Nothing about this place was good, apart from the staff.

Last night I enjoyed a fabulous cocktail masterclass at Frontline with 14 friends (including 1 on mocktails). The event was amazingly well planned and executed by Will and his team. We made 3 cocktails - espresso martini, flavoured mojitos (the wheel landed on chilli for me) and a passion star martini as a finale, played some cocktail related games and enjoyed a plentiful buffet- all for £35. Highly recommend

We stayed on Portland over half term and came across this café, such fun, very cute, great live music and lovely staff. It really added to our holiday. Thank you

Good coffee, and a wonderful selection of snacks. Without a doubt the biggest selection of sausage roll flavours. Well worth a visit.

Amazing place serving breakfast, great coffee and simple evening food. We happened upon it whilst diving locally and were so pleased we did. Rosie & Matt bent over backwards to accommodate us and the service from them was second to none. Support this venture!

Great choice of food and drink with friendly staff and lots of benches to eat outside. There are also some benches inside if the weather is not so good. Love the concept and the ability to buy a coffee for an nhs or other helper....

Frontline is local to me and it is a lovely friendly coffee shop. Lovely welcome for humans and dogs alike. The coffee snacks etc are very good. Staff exceptionally friendly and helpful. WELL DONE

Come here regularly whenever I visit family in Portland, coffee is always perfect & the snacks are homemade tasting & always want more. Staff are friendly. Defo a good cause to come & spend your money here. Will return again.

Have been going to Frontline since they opened. As an ex London Fire Brigade Fireman I think it’s a brilliant idea! Love the coffee and especially the pork cheese and marmite sausage rolls! Thoroughly recommend them. Best wishes for the future.
