I’ve been here many times and every time is just as good as the last. I can not fault this place, the food is just incredible, I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad meal at Ziangs, it’s consistent, always full of flavour and well worth the money. The staff are lovely as well which makes the whole experience even more enjoyable and I’m so happy to see them still going after the rotten few years we’ve had. I think it’s great that they have adapted to the times as last time I went they where serving Chinese takeaway food because I think delivery’s of some ingredients where hard, they have now gone back to the Malaysian food which I’m so happy about as it’s just faultless! these guys really know what they’re doing when it comes to the food they serve and you can tell they are passionate about it too which it just wonderful

Great place to stop on the coastal road from Porlock to Lynmouth. Large parking area with amazing views over Exmoor so you don't have to be a rambler to visit! Super friendly, super dog friendly, super warm in a cold day with a log burner roaring away. For the hardy or a warm day there is a welcoming grassed area outside with tables and views. Excellent range of food and drinks a a great place for snacks or a light lunch. I can recommend the bacon - thick cut and not too salty - in a generous toasted sandwich along with cheddar and a hint of mustard. Delish! Exmoor Coastal bus stops here when running in Spring to Autumn.

Popped in for a takeaway sandwich before heading off for a walk. The sandwich was lovely and fresh with a generous amount of good quality cheese and pickle. The sandwich was well packaged. I also noticed that the shop and toilet was immaculate.

We returned to this please after many years for cream tea. What a disappointment it was. As soon as we entered the garden the entrance of which looked a bit overgrown, 2 ladies were chatting away ignoring as completely and we weren’t sure if we had to order at the counter or wait to be served. Eventually, we realized that we had to order at the counter. We ordered cream tea for 2 choosing earl grey with slices of lemon. They didn’t have any lemon which is fair enough therefore we opted for coffee instead, which was very average. The scones were some of the smallest we have ever had. It is not beluga caviar, it is just flour! The garden was not quite as idyllic as we remembered it. we understand that over a period of time things change but unfortunately not always for the better. The jam and cream were ok. The day after, while waiting at the bus stop in Porlock, we started chatting to a couple and funny enough they had had a similar experience, so here we go

SUCH A BRILLIANT FIND!! Having booked for the weekend at the Porlock Weir Hotel (equally brilliant - review to follow) we were keen to try something different - and The Bottom Ship certainly didn't disappoint us!! Friendly, attentive staff - a REALLY decent session beer (the local Otter Pale Ale) and an evening meal the hotel would have been proud of!!! THANK YOU!!!!

We visited The Castle for a family funeral. The staff were incredibly attentive and couldn't do enough for us. A special mention to Rose, who did a superb job running the bar and serving food. The pub has a good atmosphere and would be good for a casual meal or a quick pint.

We really enjoyed our meal here. We were greeted in a very friendly manner & engaged in conversation. The room where we had our lunch was full of books & old photos of The Castle - which we loved. The food was reasonably priced & not too bad.
