The best restaurants in Bridestowe West Devon South West

It's certainly not much of a service area (overgrown grassy area and a few picnic tables) but at least the toilets were clean and, also, there was The Currant Bun catering truck. On offer were tempting snacks (sausage, bacon, egg baps, burgers, chips) and I was served by an extremely friendly lady who couldn't do enough to make sure I got what I wanted. Just the thing to fill that empty hole after driving up from Cornwall.

A great stop over for a really good pub meal. Good atmosphere.

Lovely food..but freezing restaurant room..if you can't get in front of fire..in main room..take electric blanket with u..really really cold..spoilt lunch couldn't wait to get back to car.

'The most unusual Inn in Britain' is the tag for The Highwayman Inn, it's a blast!!! Booked by a friend for a surprise Birthday meal tonight was my first visit & I will absolutely be back! Such a quirky & almost gothic style of decor located in the midst of the moors! The food & service were fantastic & a simple wander around won't suffice to see all the amazing decor! Would highly recommend if you enjoy something out of the norm! 💯

Beware? Not sure if they know about bikes or food. Cycle past is your best option. Food is basic which coinsides with the shop and experience.

Fantastic stay. Lovely place with some great walks on Dartmoor close at hand. Really wonderful food with excellent service. Would highly recommend.

Two of us called in at about 3-00pm Boxing Day. We ordered one Korma and one Jalfreizi with a garlic Naan on both. Both were generous on the chicken and one, the Jalfreizi, was oven hot. Sadly the same could not be said of the Korma or either the Naan or the rice - those were cold; suspect they were prepared first and left while the Jalfreizi was heated. Disappointing because it would have been good value and everything else was fine, but a hot meal needs to be hot. Sadly no one came to ask if the meal was ok so unless we left the table, once we had started eating, to seek out an employee we were unable to make someone aware. In all a very poor experience. We come through Okehampton at regular intervals but don’t think we will be stopping here again

Tenía un raro pocas horas sin los niños y decidimos comer aquí, que fue nuestro primer error! Pedimos nachos como entrante para compartir y un par de hamburguesas trajo toda la comida juntos!! Así que las hamburguesas estaban ocupadas. Llegaron de nuevo cuando habíamos terminado nuestra entrada, el mismo que había sido mantenido hamburguesas "calor". Los bollos de hamburguesa eran hard rock de estar bajo el sol. Cuando pregunte si eran las mismas, "por supuesto! Fue culpa bares y no nuestra!" llegó la respuesta. La comida entonces apareció de nuevo, sólo cálido, en este momento, tuvimos que salir a recoger a nuestro hijo. Cuando el servidor me preguntó si todo estaba bien, me dijo que estaba fría, él farfulló algo mientras caminaba! Es realmente pobre.

Visited the Okehampton branch early morning on our way too Cornwall 17th July 2022 was served by a short male manager with a beard very rude and nonchalant and impatient his young staff had too apologise for his rudeness and arrogance he couldn't be bothered to answer any questions and also sighed while we made our mind up..thank god thats not my local branch and we were only passing...his young staff were brilliant and helpful and showed him up for the idiot that he his...the funny thing is there's a recruitment cut out in their saying come join our friendly staff...laughable irony.
