Dropped in with a group of friends by chance after having passed the place many times before. What an experience! It’s an incredible collection of times past memorabilia from Egyptian casks to giant forge bellows for a table. The back dining room is something from a galleon ship. Amazing place.

'The most unusual Inn in Britain' is the tag for The Highwayman Inn, it's a blast!!! Booked by a friend for a surprise Birthday meal tonight was my first visit & I will absolutely be back! Such a quirky & almost gothic style of decor located in the midst of the moors! The food & service were fantastic & a simple wander around won't suffice to see all the amazing decor! Would highly recommend if you enjoy something out of the norm! 💯

Can’t really call this a pub. More of an experience run by a rude version of the Adam’s family with no regard for customer service. We left feeling like we’ve had a curse put on us 🧙‍♀️

Great atmosphere. So much character. So many things to look at, amazing displays of weird and wonderful. Food was great, excellent vegan menu. A very rare find indeed. Hostess was very friendly. We camped in our van overnight in the carpark, so can't comment on accommodation, but if the rest of the pub is as fantastic as the bits we saw... then, wow.

Like Many others we have driven past many times and thought what an interesting place and that we should drop in one day, it’s not always obvious that it’s open, however if you look carefully there is a small sign on the door when it’s open. We entered through the old stage coach and were surprised to find the hallways is actually the interior of a stage coach, apparently the old Tavistock to Okehampton one. You then enter into a fascinating and quirky world created by the current Landladies Father. There really is nothing quite like it that I have seen. There as in is a dinning area which could only be described as the inside of a galleon, another dinning area which is truly fascinating with alcoves and a tree root system. Then a one of a kind Bar area with lots of historical artefacts. If you are passing by you definitely have to stop and drop in for a drink or bite to eat, make sure to look around the entire building.

Although this is a unique and intriguing pub, we wish we had only had a drink and not food. Sausage and mash with sweetcorn and gravy which was clearly all cheap supermarket/freezer food and just microwaved, cost £17! My partners scampi and chips was of the same poor quality and also just as expensive. 2 orange juices and lemonades almost £10! Whilst the service from the landlady was very kind and lovely, this price for this poor quality food was shocking. Would not return. Found a lovely pub in Lydia’s which had much better quality food and prices.

The most quirky little pub I have ever seen!! A highly recommended place to visit. You can stay in a motorhome too with food/drink . The meals are very basic but the staff and pub itself make up for it. Only thing I'd change is swap frozen chips to fresh. So much to see in there, you will not be disappointed. X

A great fun pub that is outrageous both inside and out. With an Egyptian sarcophagus, minotaur, skeleton, mermaid and quirky artefacts throughout. Serving food in 2 themed rooms or drink at the bar. Has a large car park and lots of seating outside in the summer near to the obligatory pair of 2 metre tall red womens shoes in the rear garden. Situated on the outskirts of Dartmoor and ideal for a stop off whilst visiting nearby Lydford Gorge. You can stay at Cobweb Cottage across the road, having the same owner as the Highwayman Inn.

Actually came here first in September and was so impressed we made a special journey to come back in October for a birthday celebration. It was a lovely dinner off the specials board of pumpkin, bean and sausage stew in a giant Yorkshire pud. Followed by strawberry cheesecake. Delicious. Service was good and timely even though it was very busy coming up for Halloween. Thank you for making my day.

I ordered a large pastie which I paid £4.50 what I got was a small pastie which waisted terrible. How oggy can say they are the best pastie around I don't know they are rubbish. And should be ashamed selling small pastie as a large. You even need to clean up ur shop and stop ur staff from picking there nose wen serving.

I have eaten at the Three Crowns many times and its always been very good, however although perfectly edible the last meal I had there was disappointing. I was looking forward to a sunday roast and because there was no information about the provenance of any of the meat I decided to opt for the nut roast, which was really dry and crumbly, the roast potatoes instead of being lovely and crispy and caramelised were served whole and barely coloured. The cauliflower cheese was bland - I'm sorry but the meal lacked care and flavour - not up to the usual standard sadly.
