Sat down had a flat white and cappuccino between us and was excellent quality coffee. We both had the breakfast and the eggs were bright orange and bacon was cooked perfectly. The tables were clean and staff seemed very quick to clean tables.
We ordered a devon pasty and a vegetable pasty. Both were inedible. Luke warm to cold. Microwaved so soft. Fillings were horrible. Staff didn't bother to check if meal was OK. We left the food and walked out. Avoid this place. I don't review often and usually only if very good, but this was bad enough to warn others
I went here for a family birthday and the woman who served us was so RUDE! She said to my husband that he SHOULDNT BE EATING IN A PLACED LIKE THIS. And because i took the service charge off because i wanted to tip the waiter in cash before i could ever do that she started criticising MY HUSBAND and saying that we was not good customer and shouldnt eat here because of the people we are we are never eat here again and i do not appreciate the staff at all
Friendly little pub with some additional out door seating. Had a decent ale here from the bar. The landlord was accommodating and the pub interior was great
Last year, whilst on holiday, we visited to have a look at the Weaver Green showroom, not realising there was this wonderful gem of a cafe on site. We had coffee and cake which was excellent and made a plan to return here for lunch at some point.
Fast forward a year and we came back as a stop off on our way home. We had a lovely walk around the orchards with our dog, admiring the gorgeous views across the valley, and then returned to the cafe for lunch. As it was a gorgeous day we sat outside in their stunning garden, surrounded by roses, lupins and other beautiful cottage garden flowers
The menu is fairly small but everything is freshly cooked. We chose Kedgeree, and Lamb Shish Kebab on herby couscous. Absolutely delicious - both dishes were zinging with flavour and perfectly seasoned. For drinks we tried their Heron Valley medium cider and a bottle of Devon Rock lager. Although pretty full, we decided to have pudding - Tirimisu and Lemon, Bergomot and Rhubarb Cake. Iâm so glad we did as they were both sublime.
We had eaten out every day of our holiday and this was the highlight of the week!. Not only was the food absolutely on point, but the front of house staff were great and the garden was beautiful.
We had a little wander around the showroom before leaving to head home and could have been very tempted to buy a number of household itemsâŠ.if only we had room in our very full car!
We will most definitely be back next year!
Easy to book a delicious meal where youâll get genuine home cooked food at reasonable prices. This is a great eatery where you can discuss any special requests on booking and if possible these will be met, especially for special occasions. Dog friendly so bring in your well behaved dog. So easy to have good food and drink and then stroll off, no driving necessary, to your own outfit or into the bar area for entertainment. Staff work hard to ensure the experience is a pleasure.
Great setting - we could watch the racing in the estuary and look out to sea. Went for drinks as we were staying with friends in the town, so had no parking problems.
You need to sign in as a guest from another sailing club. The bar had a decent range of beers, and we noticed there was food available - so I had a delicious half-pint of prawns, and the others had whitebait and one had soup. Well-presented food.
If there is any complaint it's that the menu is delivered from a database that can';t offer an order of bread. The bread with the soup was excellent, and we tried to order some more to go with the other food, and were told it was not possible. Looks like the machines are taking over!
Definitely the best Vegetarian Breakfast. Served all day . Excellent value and great coffee. Friendly staff and dog friendly. Donât forget to browse their shop as well . A veritable Aladdinâs Cave.
Morning coffee with family. Coffee and tea were ok but the member of staff serving was not particularly welcoming. We sat outside in the courtyard area which looked unloved - it could have been very attractive but felt like no effort had been made. Disappointed.
2nd time of visiting, both times unsuccessful!! Today although on line it says clearly that it was open, when we got there it didn't even exist anymore! The first time we went it wasn't open, so feeling rather fed up and shan't bother again. So disappointed as we really wanted to support a new local business đ
Weâve bought loaves and takeaway snacks as well as browsed amongst other produce etc which are enticing but difficult to justify given their prices. Donât think that they are necessarily pushing unpalatably high margins, just that the stock here tends to be more accessible to those with fat wallets.
Very nice - quite amusing how everyone waits in the street for orders to come out. really nice food. Four of us ate 3 cod and two large portions of chips.
We came here for dinner and drinks. The service was good however we found the food to be average / especially considering the price.
My fish pie was ÂŁ27 and our total bill was ÂŁ175 for 2 people including wine!
